After 9 mo this house is still standing

My 5 year old loves this dollhouse. We have had it for about nine months now and it gets played with nearly everyday. It came with some furniture and a couple of dolls but we added the Melissa and Doug family as well. We also play with Calico Critters in it. This is sized perfectly for carrying around the house and all of the pieces fit inside. It gets carried around a lot. Last week it was tossed off the top bunk and the hinge pulled out of the wood, but I was able to fix with a hammer and some wood glue. I can’t believe it has lasted as long as it has considering my kids and the amount of use we have gotten out of it! When it does finally die, I’m sure we will get another. There are some toys that are astonishingly worth having. Toys that get played with over and over for years. Toys that last through hard use. Toys that span age ranges. In our house I count the Thomas train set, Legos, and this house as my top three toys. (I have six daughters)

A great dollhouse for the young, and young at heart!

I got it to have when my son brings his 3 year old niece over to visit me at the senior facility where I live. Very sturdy and sized just right. I like that it folds away and has a carrying handle so others down the hall can borrow it when they have young visitors, too. I've already played with it myself--just to make sure all the parts worked!! (Yeah, right. Truth is I couldn't resist)

lovely Dollhouse for a 5 years old

awesome purchase. it's very well built. my daughter and I both played it for hours. it's really good especially at this price. well worth the money. the exterior is colorful. the interior is left with the original wood color, which is great. My daughter and I spent time yesterday painting the interior and furnitures with acrylic paint. it's a wonderful toy house. I strongly recommend it if you are looking for a well build, easy to carry, already assembled, inexpensive dollhouse for any child at the age of 3 or over.

2 year old loves it

She loves her house! Carries it around even though it's a bit heavy for her. I painted the inside and it's a bit cuter than it came. I don't think she would have cared either way. The little furniture it comes with is cute. She especially loves the toilet for some reason. Her little people "go poop" a lot. LOL

Melissa and Doug did it right again!

I am a huge fan of Melissa and Doug toys. This doll house is exceptional, though, even for this company. The pieces are well made, smooth, quality wood and paint and the dolls are sturdy and adorable. It is deeper than it looks in the pictures with plenty of room to set up the furniture. The price can't be beat. I was dismayed at the price of the plastic houses; all but the tiniest and most cheaply made were more that this set and did not include dolls. I did not think I could afford a nice wood one, but I'm sure glad I checked. I will be thrilled to see how my soon-to-be-three granddaughter will react to this precious set complete with a staircase. Thanks in advance for all the hours of fun, creative play!

My go-to birthday present for preschoolers

This is my go-to gift for all the preschool girl's birthday parties! I try to avoid plastic and M&D is always my favourite for more classic, wooden toys. I would highly recommend this dollhouse, as well as any versions of the castle they sell. I know this is one of the few toys that captures my son's attention for more than 20 minutes at a time, and for several days in a row at least. I think the personalization is great too and will be adding that to our next purchase!

Quality at an affordable price

Always impressed with Melissa and Doug toys. This one is no exception to the rule. The toys are quality through and through at a price we all can afford. Granddaughter loves it as she does all her Melissa and Doug toys. These toys provide Hours and Hours of playtime without breaking apart easily as other toys do in this price point. Highly recommend to friends and family. This doll house is adorable and bigger than we thought. Perfect for our 4 year old granddaughter....she will enjoy this for years to come.

The perfect little dollhouse

The perfect little dollhouse. I got this for my niece for Christmas and spent the afternoon with her after she opened it. It's the perfect size and great starter house for a four year old. From what her mom tells me she loves it. Only thing is the two dolls that came with could be a bit better. Other than that, great quality wooden house and furniture!

EXCELLENT VALUE

We bought this for our 3 year old grandson, knowing how he loves to play. Heck, his apple slices at lunch have conversations. When it first arrived i was a little dismayed at how pink it is, but he doesn't know his colors, nor which color is supposedly for whom. I also bought the Melissa & Doug car and a box of Melissa & Doug people. The house comes with two people, the car with 5, and the box has 8. So we are covered up with people. While we expected him to like it, we are SHOCKED at how much he is enjoying it. He has been playing with the thing for hours today. He is having a blast. We personally appreciate that two of the little people are gray-hairs, representing us, Nana and Papaw. Thank you, Melissa & Doug, for continuing your fine tradition of quality, affordable, simple toys.

This one is adorable, and very well made

Fisher Price used to make a portable Little People Playhouse but if they still do, I couldn't find it. This one is adorable, and very well made. I keep one here for my 3 y.o. granddaughter to play with when she visits. It's a great size for Mimi's house, has enough furniture to keep a 3 y.o. amused, and it travels well too. It doesn't need or have room for much in additions. Perhaps another person, or a pet would fit okay, but not much more furniture. She takes it along with her when when we go away for the weekend. Fits easily in the car, and keep her busy in the hotel. Highly recommend it for little ones first dollhouse, or for portability.
