This food was recommended by our vet. My normal dog loves this food and wolfs it down at every meal. My picky dog will begrudgingly eat it when he realizes he's not getting any "people food" as a topper. Neither dog gets the "squeegies" after eating this food, unlike some more expensive brands. Lots of solid turds in our back yard!

We have a 55lb lab/Shepherd mix (Gunner) and he absolutely loves this food. He doesn’t always eat his food, but we feed him 3/4 cup in the morning and at night which typically lasts us about 30-35 days. This food does not have a horrible smell like some other foods out there and seems to be easy on his stomach since he never has trouble with pooping. We will stick with this food until he decides that it isn’t for him anymore.

One of our dogs is an extremely picky eater, whether it's treats, kibble, or canned. We tried Taste of the Wild, Rachael Ray, and Blue Buffalo dry food. He only ate those brands if we added some human food. Even then he would sometimes pick out the human food and leave the kibble to his brother. Dog canned food didn't work every time. I received a sample from Purina dog chow complete version and they seemed to have enjoyed it more. I decided to look into Purina and noticed "savor" has shredded meat in tender texture. Our dogs started showing more interest in it especially "lamb and rice" flavor. I'm still going to rotate the purchases of different meats (chicken/salmon/beef) in case they get bored one day with lamb.

I just re-ordered this product for our Schnauzer. She loves it! She was not quite 10 years old when she came to live with us last December. She weighed 23 pounds then and just weighed 26 pounds at the vet. She had her physical and vaccinations. The vet commented on how pretty and shiny her coat is. We bathe her often using ordinary dog shampoos that we pick up at the grocery store and she goes to a groomer monthly. I feel her skin and coat are so good because of the food she eats. I feed her 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening. I do add water and stir it till it makes it's own gravy. I was adding a Purina bacon flavored treat, but have stopped giving her that with each meal. After her meal we give her a medium milk bone to clean her teeth. A year ago the vet told me she needed to have her teeth cleaned. Today, the vet told me her teeth on a scale of 1 to 4 (4 being the worst)... her teeth deserve a rating of 1. Our dog is a senior and isn't moving around as much, but she seems happy and healthy.

My dogs love the all Pro Plan flavors, but this is their favorite. My fellas are persnickety in their eating habits, but I have no problem getting them to eat Pro Plan. It's easy on my old guy's stomach, the younger one sucks it down like his belly is rubbing a hole in his backbone, and it provides value with respect to the amount of protein per cup. I care about how much yard I need to clean up weekly, Pro Plan does not promote pooping like some foods do. The feeding is economical (2.5-3 cups for a 50 lb dog) and I have less to clean up in the yard after. My niece's dogs like it too, when I'm dog-sitting. I purchase the 35-pound package, and it lasts 5-6 weeks. The subscription service is offered so that I get it automatically in time for one bag to run out just as I get the new one.

My 14 year old mixed breed loves the Pro Plan products, He was having digestion problems with many other brands --- been using this brand for over a year now - no more throwing up, no more loose bowls and he eats it quickly. Feed him twice a day - no range feeding here. He is 22 - 25 pounds and he gets about 3/4 cup (or less) twice a day. Do not substitute with other products since he has been using it. . With in a minute of putting the food in his bowl - he is eating with gusto! It also seems to have regulated his bowels - needing to go out with an hour of eating and no more loose/wet bowels since he has been on it.

Despite the fact that I get hassled by some of my well-meaning fellow dog people about using this food, my dogs love it and they have thrived on it for years. I confess I fell for the trend of grain-free, cage-free, gluten-free, organic, limited ingredient, etc foods. My dogs seemed ready to organize a hunger strike. So I switched back permanently & everyone gets the proplan shredded blend that best suits their dietary needs (puppy, senior, adult, or small breed). And they’re all healthy with great coats, nice teeth, high (so high!) energy. And it’s moderately priced so I don’t have to starve myself to feed my dogs (but I totally would if I had to!).

My dog loves this food. She’s been eating it for several months now. She is very happy with the combination of soft and crunchy textures. Of note, her itching has diminished drastically since on this food even though it’s not grain free. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. She’s has had a major itching problem for several years due to seasonal allergies (although she is affected year round as we live in the south) that has required prescription medication and she barely scratches now. Is it the new food? I’m not 100% sure but I will definitely keep feeding her this.

I switched to this dog food from Blue Buffalo, my sister in law is a vet tech and this is what she feeds her dogs. She says it gives them great nutrition and is affordable. My dog especially loves the shredded bits. If you found this review helpful, please click yes :)
