An Easy to Use and Clean Salad Spinner that Really Cleans and Rinses Salad Leaves, Simplifying Salad Making and Cleanup. Enjoy!
For years I washed my salad greens in the same colander I used to drain spaghetti, beans, etc. It was a time consuming chore that I avoided whenever possible. That changed during the Christmas season when my wife and I were invited to my son’s in-laws for dinner and I observed the hostess making arugula salad. While the salad was absolutely delicious and has now become a regular part of our dinner meals, I was extremely impressed with the ease and speed of her use of a salad spinner. I am not sure the brand she used; however, I searched the internet and found this OXO Good Grips Green Salad Spinner. Of the 4,078 reviews, 92 percent were positive. That sold me! I bought it and I am so glad I did. You simply place the amount of arugula that you need in the colander portion of the product and place it into the large bowl it comes with. Fill it up with cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes or so. Remove the colander and empty the water from the bowl. Reinsert the colander in the bowl and repeat the process until you are satisfied that the salad leaves are clean. Empty the drained water again and reinsert the colander. Place the lid on the bowl and colander and press the spinner plunger. You will be amazed at how fast the colander spins and how it quickly it removes the excess moisture from the arugula. Empty and rinse the large bowl and dump the contents of the colander into the large bowl. Now you are ready to mix in other vegetables, nuts, cheese, fruit and spices that you desire, dish the salad on your plate or salad bowl and add your favorite dressing. The components of this spinner are easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble making this salad spinner a wonderful tool to make our tasty arugula salads. Enjoy!

SO Worth It!
I LOVE this salad spinner! It has become an essential item in my kitchen. I can now easily throw together a salad very quickly. I've used it for rinsing and spinning a variety of lettuces, and they all have come out beautifully clean and crisp. I've also used the spinner for cherry and grape tomatoes as well as berries. I am definitely eating more salad now than I was before... The prep is SO much simpler with this spinner. The spinner is the size of a large salad bowl, and it does take up space in the kitchen. I made room for it on my utility cart, though, because it is well worth it to have it handy.

Simple to use!
It's super wide and operates simply with pushing down on the big green pump with your hand. It's not tiresome at all and there's a little stopper you press when you want it to stop spinning. I don't use it for salads but I have found a great use for them- drying out my chickpeas! If you want some great roasted chickpeas, you have to make sure they're dry before you put them in the oven. I can rinse them in the same colander and cleanup is a breeze. Great buy and I've had great use out of this.

The Best on the Market!
Number one, I LOVE OXO tools. I mean seriously, they are the best. They last forever! I have some OXO that has lasted 14 years now. So, when this lovely Salad Spinner came my way, I of course love it! It is perfect to spin out the fruits we love, We love to eat all kinds of fruits and veggies, but I hate to eat them fresh from the sink. So I spin them out in this baby. Plus, it works great for salads. Even some that are in the bag, I will spin out so it does not get so soggy while waiting on us to eat it. This is NOT made of cheap plastic, this WILL last a very long time. We have loads of fun with it! My kids each take turns spinning it, even the grandbaby wants to get in on the spinning fun! I received this for free for review purposes.

most would spoil in a few days and go to waste. Now we buy three times as much whole ...
This has been a life saver! We would buy pre-washed, pre-package organic romaine lettuce at $4 or more per package. If we didn't use it all at one sitting, most would spoil in a few days and go to waste. Now we buy three times as much whole hearts of organic romaine for a fraction of the cost and use as little or as much as we ant without wasting it. The device itself is amazingly simple and easy to use and clean. You can wash the lettuce or other veggies in a just a minute or two. The very best part is you can use the same bowl as a service or storage dish! We have had lettuce stay fresh for over a week! This is amazing! Every salad eater must have!

Simple and easy for weak and painful hands
I had a hard time deciding on a salad spinner, but I'm glad I went with this one! It does take a couple of spin and drain cycles to get the lettuce nice and dry, but the ease of use makes that no problem. I have chronic pain and weakness in my hands, wrists, and arms, and the button on top isn't difficult for me, which was my main concern! Typical spinners with the hand crank hurt my hands too much, but this one is simple. Even on a bad day, if I put both hands on the button, I can get a salad spun with much less effort than using paper towels or dish cloths would. I would recommend this to anyone with chronic pain looking for a good salad spinner. Pair it with a nice lettuce knife and you've got the perfect combo for quick and easy salad without having to rip up lettuce by hand and pat it dry.

This makes that easy. Take it from a guy who believes salad ...
Never heard of these before my wife asked me to get one. Now? Makes salad prep so much easier. Even 'pre-washed' salad mixes are suggested to at least rinse before use. This makes that easy. Take it from a guy who believes salad is his food's food, but now has to eat it. This makes it simple. Can even store the salad in this in the fridge for a while. Hmm, internal strainer might even work for macaroni.... Alright, now I am hungry. Cya! And get one of these if you don't have one.

Wonderful product.
Greatest salad dryer out there. This was the America's Test Kitchen pick. Don't waste your money on the cheaper ones.I know, I bought one of those first and it gives me a headache every time. This makes short work of completely drying any greens. The pump action is SO much better than the handle spinner types. This never comes apart mid spin and gets your greens and veggies totally dry. Spend the money and save yourself the aggravation and wasted money on a salad dryer that doesn't work.

More than a salad spinner
Originally I bought this for what it is: a salad spinner. I have a small spinner purchased years ago but doing everything in small batches was time consuming. It was time to get something larger. This spinner has proven to be so much more than a salad spinner. The colander and bowl are very handy for washing and rinsing my homegrown swiss chard, larger greens, and tomatoes. The bowl is clear plastic (Lucite?) and could easily serve as a salad bowl for a layered salad. This was definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Sturdy and works great
I think the people who said it doesn't get the greens dry are missing a tiny, easy to miss step in the process. The directions say to unlock it by sliding the small black piece away from the pump knob. The knob still pumps if you don't slide that little thing back so you wouldn't know to do it if you didn't read the directions. Sliding it back releases the knob to full tilt and you get a better result. Pushing hard on the stop button will also sling the last bit of water off the greens. I've owned several salad spinners and none of them completely dry the greens. I just dump them out on a dish towel for about 15 minutes and then do the paper towel/zip lock bag thing. They keep about a week and a half that way.
