Well this seemed like a good product to go for. Organic and lasts for up to 8 weeks. I followed the other reviews that said not to use the plastic cap and hammer. Easy enough. You just have to use a trowel and dig about 6 inches down, plop in the spike and cover it back up. Much less time consuming than liquid or granular fertilizer. Even put spikes for roses that haven't started growing yet. (I'm hopeful the fertilizer will help!) Will be back to update my review on how well the fertilizer works.... 4/26/17 it's only been 1 day and I can see the difference with this fertilzer! Yesterday's buds have leaves and plants that had no buds now do!!!! Wow - simply amazing! Will be buying this from now on! :)

This is my first time using these spikes, and first time using any product from Jobe's. I don't have a very big garden, just a few plants: tomato, bell pepper, green bean, sugar pea, yellow squash and carrots. One package of 50 spikes was the perfect size to use for the first time, which was good because the package says to use them soon after opening. They are neat little bullet shaped spikes and held their shape/didn't get mushy through the humidity before inserting them into the ground. They're really easy to use, all you have to do it pop them into the soil. I initially punched a hole in the ground for them with a tent spike but found that it wasn't necessary, and I could easily insert them on their own. I've only heard good things and good results with these and am hoping for good veggies. The price is great and definitely worth giving a shot. My only concern with them is related to my two dogs. I read that they are pet safe, and that was part of my decision in purchasing. The bag says to keep out of reach of children and pets. As a precaution and to keep the dogs from walking on my garden, I put up a short plastic, white picket fence that is enough to keep them out every year. The day after adding the spikes, I found that the dogs went into my garden and dug up the spikes. I didn't actually see them eating anything, I could only see the holes they dug, which were exactly where I put the spikes. I got the empty bag out of the trash to see of they had interest in it and they both came running over to me, licking their lips and staring at the empty bag. So I can basically only assume that the dogs find them to be delicious. Thankfully I haven't noticed any symptoms or problems and to be fair, these dogs aren't new to getting in trouble. I just feel it's important to mention it so others can take precautions with their furbabies.

This is my first year trying to grow tomatoes on my deck. I decided to try out these organic fertilizer stakes in hopes that it would give my “little” cherry tomato plant a healthy boost with minimal work. Boy, was I surprised at just how well they worked!! My “little” plant is now almoat 6 feet tall, and I have well over 70 tomatoes at various stages (from fully ripe to tiny little green buds) all over the plant. It continues to flower as well, so I have a feeling I’m going to be giving away cherry tomatoes to all of my friends and neighbors pretty soon. :) I still have plenty of stakes left for next year too! I highly recommend this product!!

I can't be certain if Jobe's is the reason, but I used this organic veggie fertilizer in my two tomato pots on my balcony and both plants turned into tomato trees...No joke. They're legitimately 4+ feet tall and have beautiful little pre-tomatoes all over! And, this is occurring even with pretty terrible sunlight. So.... my money's on Jobe's!

Works great - highly recommend - plants look fabulous and healthy as well as growing bigger & more beauitiful. Easy to use , no mixing.! Thanks Jobes for a great product!!!! Will always buy, this is most probably my 10th order double bags,no messy mixing , fast n easy..🌺 Plants grow healthy n double the size in a short time. I also use the tomatoe spikes n the vegetable spikes for my herb & tomatoe garden - my tomatoes are HUGE & DELISH.. my basil is growing healthy, huge beautiful green leaves growing crazy out of control .. see my feedback for Jobes tomatoe n vegetable spikes - n see the pictures I posted after I used jobes spikes. I’ll add more pics as I take them. The plants posted are hibiscus 🌺 & coleus combinations. Thanks.. SA

Good fertilizer, only thing I used on my container tomato 🍅🍅🍅this year, lots of flowers, big beautiful bushy plants. 😁My first tomato of the year is almost ready to be picked 👍🏼 And the hot Cayenne Pepper keeps producing and putting out new flower, the Pepper looks unrealistically beautiful !!!! 🌶 🌶🌶 I only put 3-4 capsules for each plant. And the pics r my results so far. A little expensive if you put 8 capsules following the package instruction. But really good fertilizer ✌️️I'm going to try the 18 spikes pack next time!

No mess, easy to use, has an obvious but not overpowering scent. Tip: My dog watched me bury these and he damaged a portion of the garden by digging up 2 of these and consuming them. No adverse reaction (90lb Shepherd) but apparently dogs love to eat organic fertilizers. So now I make sure he's not in sight and water promptly after application to reduce the scent.

I'd love to review the product for its intended use. Unfortunately I can't because the raccoons LOVE it, so the plants get dug up and broken before the spikes have a chance to do their thing. Yes, I have seen them being eaten by a young 'coon so he isn't just digging for grubs. (Sorry, no camera) Would have given 3 stars for this reason but who reads 3 star reviews? Like the woman whose dogs thought this product was a treat, these are useless to me until I find a repellant that works. Intend to try ammonia, garlic and cayenne on the planter box. (Suggestions appreciated) If you really need a good bait to trap your coons, this won't be your cheapest option but it sure will work! Edit: I've got to say if you haven't read the comments that this company truly cares about customer service. Also that I've used the powder and it works great. Garden netting is a pain the butt, but helped me out, then covering everything with dog hair repelled my masked nemesis even more so I can use these handy spikes again!

I put one package of the fertilizer spikes into all my roses. Toward the end of summer, it seems plants lose their vibrant green leaves, and all of my plants were beginning to look quite 'pale'. I water briefly every day, and by the third day I could actually see the foliage beginning to improve, along with many new rose buds appearing. These buds have since bloomed and I was so pleased! My outdoor roses are the spreading kind, and on our back porch I have mini rose bushes. All are looking quite wonderful. I used to fertilize by mixing water with the granule type of fertilizer, but that was an awful chore. I am the first to admit I did not do this as often as I should have. My roses grow and bloom all year long and I plan to use more spikes in a few months from now. I have marked my calendar! I have recommended this product to my family and neighbors. These fertilizer spikes have reduced my work load and, more importantly, they have done a super job of keeping all of my rose bushes healthy and blooming!

I have a front and back yard full of perennials. I have been trying to find a product where I do not have to sprinkle fertilizer and rake in the ground since that takes forever and its messy given the number of plants all over the place. I bought two bags of this product to cover both my front and back yard (normal surburbia lot) and just hammered these fertilizer sticks in the ground. I didn't follow the directions and use as many in the space noted. I basically cut that down to 50%. I put these in the ground about a month ago and the flowers all look so healthy. I would definitely use this product again since it took half the time to fertilize my yards vs. the conventional fertilizer.
