We got our first pool rover 4 years ago. After only a few uses, I told my husband "when this one dies, we order a new one the same day!" I hate that it didn't last but 4 seasons, however it was used almost every single day for our season which runs from the 1st of May through at least mid-October. We have a lot of trees around our yard as well as the neighbor's yard close to our pool, so our pool collects a lot of debris. The pool rover gets a good workout when it's in use.

UPDATE 8/18: Rover finally died. :-( After 5 1/2 summers, it’s time for him to Rest In Peace. UPDATE: 7/18: Rover is still going strong! This is our 6th summer & we take good care of him & he takes good care of our pool. We use him about once, sometimes twice a week. Thank you, Rover! Rover has been great to us. I follow the instructions exactly and he has been going strong for going on 5 summers. His cord gets tangled, but as long as I don't use the extended setting, the cord will not mess with his performance. If he needs to run longer, I'll turn him off, untangle his cord, & run him again. His wheel falls off every once in a while so I try to run him while someone is home that can turn him off if he gets stuck or something. It still beats manual cleaning. He takes exactly 1 hour and 45 minutes to clean our 24 foot round above ground. So far so good. I have a few extra filter bags which makes cleaning him much easier. I'll change his dirty "diaper," give him a clean one, and then clean out the dirty one when I get a chance. I am hoping the newer version of rover does not tangle as much, but I'm also hoping my current rover will continue to go strong as long as he can!

I have had this pool cleaner for 3 years now and it doesn't fail to perform year after year. It cleans my entire 27 foot pool and rarely misses a leaf or stick. I bought an extra filter for it so that I could let it clean the pool and if I wanted to run it again in a day or so I wouldn't have to wash the other filter so often. When I bought it I didn't write a review because I wanted to see if it really WORKED. Well, have to say it has worked and worked for the past 3 years and I am quite impressed!

I bought mine last summer cause of the reviews. I used it all last summer & all this summer and it's great. Pool is very clean and bot is still working mint. Few things I have learned about it. DO NOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS! if you have an oval pool, don't put it in the middle (on the side). I put mine at one end of the pool (opposite the filter) and I straighten the cord out on the deck. This stops it from getting tangled up and it works all day just fine. Also, after every use, after you clean the bag, use your garden hose and flush out the top exhaust ports. This will flush the spinning turbine in the middle and keep the flap working right so the bot goes in both directions. Excellent Bot! Update - Have now had this bot for 4 seasons and it's still working mint! Excellent product.

Absolutely great product. The pool has never been so clear and clean. Much much cleaner than the manual cleaning or even using small vacs. I have a 18' Intex above ground pool and I let that robot run shortly before we go in. It really cleans up everything that collects on the ground, from big leaves to the small/tiny little particles that used to make the pool dirty. Best investment for a almost maintenance free pool (at least one more thing I don't have to worry about. Before buying it, I saw many review complaining about the cord tangling - but it is really not a big issue. Yes, the cord tangles a little bit, but it takes only 5 additional seconds after taking it out of the pool to straighten it again, so really, not worth the big fuzz and probably less work than all the solutions that suggest using noodles to 'fix' it.

We have a 28 ft above ground pool. We budget things very carefully so I researched vacuums for nearly 2 months and tried one of the cheaper skimmer attachment vacuums, before I finally shelled out the money for this robot.... there is no doubt that this is the best pool purchase we've ever made! We have 2 very large trees that are dropping leaves all day everyday (especially in the dry heat and storms). But this vacuum can pick up every single one. Sometimes I let it go thru 2 cycles (overnight), but gone are the days of my spending hours cleaning the pool.

This is the best purchase I've ever made for our pool. It comes fully assembled, so there's no confusing instructions or bags of screws to sift through. You simply plug the cord into the power unit, then plug the power unit into your electrical outlet, and drop the Aquabot into the pool, and let it run. I watched the Aquabot to make sure it was running correctly, and I can honestly say that it runs perfectly. No more trying to clean the pool bottom with a crappy vacuum that runs off of the pool's own filter system. It picks up every ounce of debris, including pollen and dirt, thanks to the micro filter bag that comes with it. Its super easy to clean the filter bag too. Just wash it out with a water hose. I'm super pleased with this purchase.

Have had three of these so far and they do a great job, but they only last me about two seasons, therefore this is the third one I have purchased. The filter bag does an amazingly wonderful job of getting dirty and anything laying on floor of above ground pool. This model has a different timer set up and I prefer the older system which ran a pattern for a set time and you could set the length of feet for the machine to cover going forward and then after the time, it would run backward. I am not great at explaining but this timer system seems more "sensitive" and the unit, if moved with a broom senses that it has reached its destination and then moves in opposite direction, but sometimes only as far as it went prior to getting interrupted, so sometimes it doesn't reach each edge of pool. The system works fabulous for us who live on a farm and dirt and crop residue is a daily issue.

Yes, the power line does get twisted. That's why it is designed to shut off after two hours of run time. If you want to run longer, just take our the power cord, un-twist it and go again. The pool has never been cleaner. This little robot picks up lots of debris. I did have to put a little petroleum jelly on the ingenious little rocker device that switches the robot's direction because it was sticking, but this was an easy fix that has lasted a long time now. Most likely it began sticking because I left the robot in the pool for several days against the manufacturer's recommendation. The bag is fairly easy to clean. Overall I am very happy with this little robot. It was a very cost effective investment and is highly recommended.

I love this little robot - he cleans my pool so beautifully. Just drop him in and he goes. He doesn't stop til the pools clean too. I don't mind having the electrical box not being waterproof because there's enough cord to go around the pool without tangling. I like the fact that he picks up large and small things from the pool. For the price I paid I couldn't have gotten a better buy. The only thing I seem to have trouble with is pulling him out when he's finished, because then he's full of water and quite heavy, he floats to the top then I have to grab one handed, I wish there was a handle on the top instead of the two handles on the sides. A handle on the top would allow you to pull him straight out of the pool, seems I always grab one side and he tips til I can get water drained. To me he's worth every penny though because I throw him in and let him go. I don't have to do anything.
