  • Made with soy protein, soy flour, and natural smoke flavor
  • 60% less fat than beef hot dogs
  • Pre-cooked and 100% vegan
  • Meatless alternative to hot dogs

I grew up on a vegetarian diet and ate these a lot as a child. I recently started to go back to a vegetarian diet. They don't taste like real hotdogs, but they are still really good. My mom who isn't vegetarian and is really picky about foods, really liked them. The only downside to this can is that it's so big and I didn't care for them after I froze them. I wish the smaller cans were sold on here individually. They're hard to find in stores.

In the 96 ounce can, there are 40 weenies, at the current sale price, that makes the cost per weenie only 0.414 cents each. Not a bad price for a weenie that is good raw from the can or done up however you like, and is vegan. The big can is okay. I pour it into a tupper and put it in the fridge. They don't last long at my house anyway. I grew up a vegetarian. We love these things so much that when I was a kid, on occasion, my mom would give us each a small can of them at Christmas. That way we wouldn't have to share with anyone else. Well, I've passed the love of these on to my children. I love all of the Loma Linda products--Fri Chick, Big Franks, especially. But these are the most cost-effective. I don't like that there is artificial coloring in them, as well as a good deal of sodium, but as an occasional "junk food" they are fantastic. We get two cans a month on Subscribe and Save, and for a family of six, they don't last long. If you want a real treat, slice some of these thinly and make a sandwich out of them and buttered toast. So good!

These were a great alternative to meat based hot dogs. The flavor was good, they were a little on the small size, and there were 40 dogs which made the price 47 cents each, which is two cents a piece cheaper than an 8 pack of Tofu Pups. But they've not been available since I got the first order.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical but I wanted to try these and see how they compare to Morning Star version. I personally think they are better. The texture is almost perfect compared to a real hot dog and they taste pretty good. The only drawback is the smell. It's not a bad smell, they just smell, literally, like vegetables to me. Don't be worried though, its not a strong smell. I will seriously buy more of these when I run out. My favorite thing is how low in sodium they are.

Having been vegetarian for about 25 years it is very weird to eat something that looks and tastes SO MUCH like the real meat product it is copying. I used to eat (can I say?) Morningstar Farms frozen hot-dog-like product but they just disappeared of the market a few years ago they came close to the real thing but not nearly as close as these. You get 40 links in a can. they can be frozen and heated (I just microwave cuz I'm lazy) for a quick and easy hunger fixer. Fix it up like you would a regular weenie I doubt most peeps would discern much of a difference. I just take them & dip em in ketchup (ya, I know, I'm boring) All in all this was a delightful, tasty and economical find for this lazy vegetarian. (They are vegan for those who care).

My family has been buying Linkettes and Big Franks for over 40 years. Amazing but true. it's an old time family favorite with sauerkraut and melted cheddar on potato hot dog rolls. Then we have Trader Joe's veggie baked beans too. We are all happy have this meal together. It reminds us of the old days when the kids were growing up.

I am not a vegetarian. Let's get that right out of the way. I've had a love-hate relationship with frankfurters all my life. In fact, when I was a toddler, I spent some time in the hospital because I loved hot dogs so much. I don't remember what it was about eating hot dogs that put me there, but I do remember how sick and how scared I was. My parents are gone now, so I can't ask why hot dogs made me ill. I'd really like to know. As I grew up, I was able to eat hot dogs again without problems. And oh how I loved a good chili dog! But gradually over the past five years or so, they've begun to affect me badly again. There's too much fat in the typical grocery store-variety franks. I live in a small town, so there's not a lot of variety on the shelf. I did try turkey franks and--ERP. Gross! I stumbled on Loma Linda Linketts here on Amazon. The reviews were pretty positive, and I decided to give the product a try. WOOHOO!! I'm in hot dog heaven! They taste like wienies but without all the fat, and they don't make me sick! Bless you Loma Linda, for a tasty hot dog that I can actually eat! Like others have suggested, I'm storing the linketts in the freezer. They're about the same size as a standard frank, and I have 'em eight to a package just like the meat varieties. I sure am enjoying being an all-American girl again!

I love Linketts, they have been a favorite since I was a kid. If you weren't raised eating them you might not like them but if you like trying new things and like other vegetarian foods you should try these. I use them just as meat eaters use regular hot dogs. They taste great fried with Worthington chili. You can also be creative with these and come up with some great recipes. One of my favorites uses brown rice, olive oil, onion powder, stewed tomatoes, canned black beans, and sliced Linketts and then putting it in tortillas. It is one of the greatest recipes ever just don't leave out any of the ingredients I once forgot to add the black beans and it wasn't even close to as amazing. Also since the Linketts are not meat based it not a problem to eat them straight from the can but DO NOT judge the taste based on that alone because they taste completely different when they are fried or grilled. Also I think most people would only like them fried or grilled especially people who are or were meat eaters.

I have ordered these linketts multiple times now since the taste completely won me over. They really don't compare with any other. I love hot dogs, but don't love the meat. That's why I switched to these. The ones veggie links they sell in the supermarkets are nothing like these. I can eat these every day and not feel guilty. I boil them and sometimes heat them up in cooking spray on the skillet. I put them in buns, in wraps, I even eat them raw. They are totally 100% delicious. I would give these 10 stars if I could.
