Beautiful Color
I purchased this to replace a 14 year old PSP that I got from my son. I purchased this particular one because my favorite color is purple. I was sooo excited until I opened the package and the battery is on the verge of busting open. It's bloated big time. I took the battery out of my old one and have had to order another one which is a shame since I've already put out $179. But that's life... The game plays fine. It's a game console...

Great system & color
I recently bought this PSP and have been loving it so far! The color is great, has a subtle sparkle to it, and is a nice tone of light purple/lilac. Plus, it's not a glossy finish, so it won't attract fingerprints. I bought this bundle once I saw the price had dropped from $199 to $159 -- over $40 in savings. You get a 2GB Sony Pro Duo memory stick, Hannah Montana game, 3 HM episodes on UMD, and some stickers for those who wish to decorate their PSP. I chose this bundle mainly for the price and especially because of the color. Besides the black, silver, and new white PSP 3000, there really is no "girly" color available in the U.S. I would've been happy with a white PSP, but at $159, buying this bundle was a no-brainer. As of 12/11 (date of this review), the price is still $159 + shipping. I'd definitely recommend getting this bundle at that price. It's definitely a "bang for your buck" purchase. The PSP itself is fantastic. I've been very impressed with the titles offered. I recommend Little Big Planet, PSOne Classics like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, and Patapon. The PSP has great graphics and games are a pleasure to look at. The speakers of the PSP go up reasonably high so you'll be fine with that. In addition to gaming, the PSP does a ton of other stuff. You can play UMD movies (have played the Hannah Montana episodes and they look great), listen to music (I've loaded a few songs onto my PSP and it works fine), go online (have gone on Google and while it isn't the best browser, it's nice to have), make Skype calls (works perfectly when I tried this), listen to internet radio (lots of stations available), download comics from the upcoming digital comics store, as well as download games/videos straight from the PlayStation Network onto your PSP. Plus more! It is really an all in one device. A few downsides, though. It's a Sony device, so they will make you use memory stick pro duo, not more common formats. I didn't really mind since we have a few Sony Cybershots at home, but for others, it can be a pain. On that note, 2gb won't cut it if you plan on downloading games and loading your memory stick with music, photos, and other content. I purchased an 8gb memory card for extra storage for games and saved data. It'll fill up in the long run, so it's best to get a bigger pro duo if you know you'll be having a lot of content on there. Another thing; right out of the box, you can't download games or go on the PSN. The firmware version of the PSP I got was 5.50, so you'll need to upgrade yourself to 6.20 to access PSN and use Media Go (think iTunes for PSP) to sync games and other content to your PSP. It's not a big deal, but a hassle in some ways. Media Go is real easy to use, but upgrade before proceeding to using it. Battery life is mediocre at best. I usually get a few hours depending on how much I play, but I guess I've just been spoiled with the amazing battery life of the DS. But on another note, if I play only about 1-2 hours a day on the PSP I can easily get up to 2 days without charging, so it just depends on your use. In all, the PSP is buying. As for the bundle, I probably won't be playing the Hannah Montana game much, but it's nice to have, as well as the tv shows. Besides that, I highly recommend getting this bundle. The color looks great and the system itself is just as good. If you have been looking into the PSP, go for it. There are great games available, and with all that you can do with your PSP, you won't get bored anytime soon! Here are a few recommendations for your PSP: -Upgrade to firmware 6.20 right away to use the PSN and Media Go if you'd like to do that. -Get a bigger memory stick. Pro duo's vary in price but I found an 8gb SanDisk pro duo for about $25. -Get a screen protector. The screen is nice and bright, but can easily attract scratches and fingerprints without one. (recommend Hori brand) -Find a good case for your PSP and UMD's. This is essentially for on to go gamers.

Love It!
I bought this solely for the color. It's alot flimsier than my PSP 1000, but I also bought a clear case for it that stays on the system. I just love the color and have since bought a white PSP also. I wish that Sony would make their PSPs in colors, like the Nintendo DSs (I own five of those!), so that I wouldn't have to pay extra for the games that come with these special colors. I don't like Hannah Montana or the Assassin's Creed game that came with the white one. But now that I have this gorgeous purple PSP, I'm back to playing my PSP games.

Not many color choices for PSP, were there?
I hate "Hannah Montana" but I wanted a purple PSP. Fortunately for me I got it used for a bit cheaper without the game included, which suited me just fine! The good thing is that the PSP itself hasn't got the "Hannah Montana" logo or anything on it anywhere, it's JUST lavender-colored, much to my relief. I was pretty sure that was the case but I was only going from internet pictures, so I wasn't 100% sure. My other PSP is a first edition and it's a big bulkier and heavier than this one, which I guess is the "slim" version. It's kinda stupid that the PSP never had more options as far as shell colors. They did a few but certainly not enough. I still actually play the disks in this one and it works as good as the day I got it, and still looks new.

It works and I love it. Please keep in mind that your modern modem would probably not work with the PSP, especially the PSP Go. The PlayStation network does not even work anymore, except for the one on the Vita. So keep that in mind. This is perfect for physical games, or dare I say, illegally obtained roms. Lol I also love the sparkles on this device. A nice touch to this purple/lilac PSP

My little girl loves it
I got it for my seven (almost eight) years old girl as a Christmas pressent, I see it is a great console, I was able to do the remote utility with my ps3 and abe to play bejewled and the ps3's lego batman demo (heavier games are not supported with this feature), also works for playing music and videos from the ps3. Besides that the color is very cool for a girl, she is very proud to show it to her cousins and has been playing locoroco a lot, she has not touched the hanna montana game nor the shrek 3rd game I also got, she also enjoyed decorating it with the incluided stickers and loves playing music on it too. The 2gb memory card is nice but with all the music it has now and with a few demos I downloaded it is running short so an 8gb one would be a great add in order to get games from the playstation network so it is able to hold at least 5-6 full games. The PS Network (also available at amazon) is a great place to buy games for people living outside the US like me since it is the fastest way to get fair priced games, ill be getting locoroco 2 and patapon 2 since I saw they come in spanish, a very important fact for a non english speaking girl. Little big plannet was a great game to get too, my girl loves it too. This PSP has other nice features: skype and internet radio, that is very cool, the only thing that sony needs to improve is the web browser because it wont open many pages and many other display very poorly, that is a problem the ps3 also has but after all that is OK since I intended getting a gaming console not a computer. I'm really glad that I got it, my daughter really enjoys it. I'll get sony's white headphones with remote in the near future since playing music has been a big use for it so far and the speakers are not very loud, I think white would match nice with it for a girl. Again, a great buy, I'm very happy that I got it.

My daughter is thrilled
My daughter is a little beyond the Hannah Montana stage now but only by a couple years. She is an enthusiastic gamer and we are a multi-console household. For her birthday this year I offered her a choice of a few presents or a PSP 3000. After looking at the ones available here, I asked her "Purple or black?" She chose purple. It's only a bit more than the basic PSP 3000 core pack, but comes with a few extras so you can use it straight out of the box instead of waiting to buy a game. My teen was more enthused with the Hannah Montana game than I thought she would be. The display is just gorgeous. Both my teens have DS systems, but this is the first PSP I've really gotten a look at. The size of the display is good for her and the size of the whole unit fits easily in the bag she uses as a purse. The color of the unit is very pretty dark lavender or pale purple. There are no HM logos on it, it comes with stickers to customize it, which my daughter discarded quickly. She customizes most of her own things with stickers for local businesses she really likes. It doesn't show finger prints badly. Ease of use- My whole family is left handed which has been a problem with the DS a few times. This is, according to my daughter, a lot easier to use. It took her more time to get it out of the packing box than it did to get it set up and use it. Like I said, it's her first PSP but she had it up and running in nothing flat. Played it until she went to bed, woke up, brushed her teeth, and took it off the charger to play some more. The controls are responsive and easy to use. I love the fact it comes with a headphone jack so I don't have to hear Hannah Montana songs while she's playing the included game, but it also has a speaker that has decent sound for this sort of unit. The pack comes with: A HM game, a UMD with a few HM episodes, memory stick, power cord/adapter. To put things on the memory stick, you'll need a mini-usb cable. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. It's a good deal, and she's very happy with it.

PURPLE. 'nuff said.
It is well worth the embarrassment of purchasing anything affiliated with Hannah Montana to own this lovely, subtly shimmering purple PSP. (No offense to preteens who dig this sort of stuff. That's your prerogative.) I do not mind a crisp, clean black or white console, but sometimes you just want to personalize your gaming equipment. That's what limited edition bundles, pink and yellow controllers, and Japanese color consoles are for. I still use this more than my PS Vita, considering the only worthwhile game on there is Persona 4 Golden.

I get a lot of people asking me where I got my PSP from. Im a little to embarassed to admit it's a hannah montana psp, especially in this day and age...But what can I say? I'm a sucker for pastel purples.

It's PURPLE!!
When my daughter was young she was a huge Hannah Montana fan and we watched every episode together. When I found this gem on Amazon I had to have it because it is purple! Well technically lavender but it is absolutely like brand-new! It plays great no scratches on the screen and it even came with a Hannah Montana movie and game. I only wish I could find another one so I can give it to my daughter ... she's not getting mine!
