Great sturdy unit.
I bought this about 3 weeks ago. As I was putting it together the frame was not lining up right so I called customer service and they express shipped a new frame. Assembly was very easy if you follow the instructions. I love the unit. I have only used it once this season so far but I really like how it performs. It was very simple to put together. Unit is very sturdy in my opinion. Air tires work well in the grass and pulls well. I have a zero turn mower so I have to get off the mower to adjust the hopper lever to open or close. I will have to rig a system for me to operate the lever from my seat. My unit came with a clear cover. I am very please so far with the unit and feel it was worth the money spent. All pieces were heavy duty in my opinion for my 1.5 acres. First load I filled the hopper to the rim. Did great with the weight. It did leave some material in the bottom since it is rather flat on the bottom. I plan to fix that by attaching some plastic in the bottom to make it more hopper shaped. Overall I am pleased with the unit.

Five Stars very well deserved
Wow- This spreader really spreads. The instruction book that came with this left no questions. Simply had to be the clearest assembly manual I have ever seen. The parts pack was laid out so well, there was no question what part I need at what stage of the assembly. Whoever set this packaging up was a genius. The finished product is perfect, does exactly what I needed and more. Very durable and seems to be built to last for many years. Five Stars very well deserved

Worked great!
Arrived in 2 days after ordering, had it assembled in less then an hour without any missing parts!! I used it this past weekend 12/15/2018. I spread 90 bags @ 40 pound each (3,600LBS.) of pelletized lime with the spreader and it worked great. Its rated for 175 LBS but I loaded the hopper with 5, 40 pound bags at a time and it handled it with no problems. I had to "play with" the adjustment or flow settings to get the coverage (pounds per 1000sqft) I needed for my field but once I figured that out I was all set. I'm sure that fertilizer or other products will use different flow settings then what I used for the pelletized lime. The settings printed on the spreader weren't even close for lime but maybe for fertilizer they might be. Either way its easy to figure out your own settings. I would recommend this product if you have large areas to cover.

Good value and really good product
I swear I spent 4 days (32 hours) on amazon looking over reviews - because (as you can see if you wish to) the reviews are quite mixed. There's not a clear-cut dominant winner in this category. Even the over-priced John Deere gear. So, I finally took the plunge and ordered the Brinly BS36BH model. Showed up on time and in perfect condition. Took 2 hours to assemble, and I'm good with this kind of thing. All parts were there, but instructions could use a revision. NOTE: Be certain to have a little axle grease on hand BEFORE you start to assemble! The mfgr. should really include a condiment-sized pouch. Works great. I had no issues at all, and I'm a picky SOB about everything in life. I put 120 lbs of weed n feed in it and off I went. The flow control worked flawlessly when turning on and off. I will agree with some reviewers that it's a bit top-heavy, as I had to carefully work across a 10% grade. I did this with the hopper only 1/3 full just for that reason, and it worked fine - this is the only significant design change I would make to the unit. So the only thing left is to see how durable it is over the coming years. My old Scott's 25 lbs tow-behind lasted over 18 years (all plastic wheels and gears too).

Better Than John Deere's
Bought this to replace the exact thing John Deere's sells renamed under their own label and $49 less. Two year warranty on this and much better, accurate building instructions. VERY well constructed. Nice to know Brinly stands behind their product and is a real joy to use, knowing it will not fall apart 16 days after JD's one-year warranty, with no recourse. There is an adjustment to even the spreading of whatever you use...aim the discharge to the right, center or left to keep it off sidewalks, driveways and even flower beds. If you are serious about having a spreader to do a great job, this is for you. Hooks up to most lawn and garden tractors. It's a must have!

Seems to be great quality and awsome value for the price!
Wow. For around $200 you just cant beat this thing. I got the 175# and it is big and sturdy. Easiest thing ive ever put together. Each step was on a seperate page and the parts came packed for each individual section. No cofusion or guessing involve. I have not used this yet but will be in the next couple of weeks. If any thing changes i will update this post.

Very well made broadcast spreader, should last many years
I rated the Brinly BS36BH a 5-star even though I do have one problem with it. Overall it appears to be very well made and should last a long time if proper care is taken of it. The instructions were excellent. All the small parts (nuts, bolts, washers, pins, etc) were carded in groups which matched up with each step of assembly. I used it to sling 600 lbs pelletized lime. The on/off control handle worked very well and stayed at whatever setting we put it at. It has a very large ajustability range as to how fast it puts out the contenst of the spreader. The only shortcoming I saw with it is I wish the wheelbase was a little wider. With 175 lbs in the hopper, it is very top-heavy. We managed to turn it over once with a full load. Note that was on an off camber hill, rough ground while turning with a full load spreading lime on our deer food plot. I doubt that most home owners will ever come close to turning it over on a normal or near-normal yard. I am very pleased with it overall and I'm glad we bought it.

Great pull behind broadcaster/spreader.
I got this as a gift for my dad. He would normally have to walk several acres spreading grass seeds, fertilizers, and etc. But now he can hook this up on his rider and do what use to be a 3 hour job in less than 30 mins. He sometimes even do other people yards with it. It was pretty easy to install. I probably could have gotten the smaller version. But I wasnt sure of the size difference when I ordered it and decided to just go for the largest one. But with that said the larger broadcaster means less refilling. Which means getting the job done faster.

Stable and well built.
This fertilizer spreader is very stable. I have been through many spreaders over the years, with several that I have taken back for being so unstable. I have some slopes and uneven ground in the area I cover with occasional fertilizer spreading. The problem has always been that the spreaders tend to tip over which is very frustrating. Then there has often been a problem with the lever that opens and shuts the fertilizer flow. In the case of other units the lever has been either hard to reach and/ or contacted the back of my lawn tractor with resulting unexpected open and closing of the fertilizer flow. This unit holds a larger quantity of fertilizer; it seems to spread evenly and is far better than any other unit I have tried. Assembly took some time, but instructions were clear and logical. It seems to be well built and designed. This was a good purchase for me.

Well built, and working good so far.
Overall, this spreader seems to work very well, and seems solidly built. A vast improvement over the cheap plastic one it replaced. I've only used it once so far, and it worked well. It rolls nicely on the tires and has a good spread. The lever stayed in place for me, but I can see where some of the reviewers mentioned it may vibrate over time. I tightened down the pivot mechanism very tight, so that may be why. If it does happen, it would be easy enough to fix with a bungee cord or similar means. Assembly took around an hour. Most of the parts are in a blister pack separated by each step - very helpful to make sure you're using the right parts in the right places. The instructions were pretty good, but missed a few little details. Most notably that you need to attach the gold-colored linkage onto the adjuster before you finish assembling that piece - you cant slip it in after. Be very careful not to over tighten the bolts going thru the plastic bin, as it is easy for them to deform the plastic. The plastic is not thin, there is just not a flat on the tube under it.
