Great invention.
So glad I got this. It has made cleaning brushes less tedious. I still use masters brush cleaner after I'm done using this jar (with turpentine in it), but then it takes way less effort. All the color sinks to the bottom so by the next time you're ready to use it, I doesn't muddy your brushes with remnants of old colors. This is perhaps overpriced, but it's a one time small investment that I think is total worth it.

Best brush cleaning tank
I used to use jars like this one in art class all the time, but buying one for myself was always very expensive. This one is affordable, high quality glass, and I love the metal coil at the bottom. It does a great job of cleaning brushes and not ruining them, and keeps the smell of turpentine at bay when closed! Oh, it's also pretty spill-proof and easy to clean with soap and water.

Works Perfectly
It holds mineral spirits. After painting and cleaning my brushes, I let the paint settle for a day and then pour off the mostly clean mineral spirits. Swirl the remaining liquid around in the bottom and pour it into the trash. Use a paper towel to clean it out and put the screen and mostly clean mineral spirits back in. I bought this brand because the other brand was reported to leak. This one doesn't leak. I discovered from a friend that you can't get the cleaning spring out of the other one so the fact that I can remove the screen to clean thoroughly makes me happy.

Great brush cleaning tank!
This brush cleansing tank works great. It has an dome-shaped inner mash net that allows you to throughly rid the colors on the brush. And the mesh also allows the dirty pigments to settle at the bottom, so they won't get back onto the brush. See my pictures.

The best tool for cleaning brushes!!!
I have used this exact cleaning tool for my oil painting brushes and now have bought one for my acrylics. This is one of the best quality ones around, I would definitely recommend it to anyone from beginners to seasoned artists. The best part is that it has a seal tight cover, if youre taking it to class or just transporting it for leisure it really comes in handy not to spill. The glass is thick and solid and really stands up over time. Inside of the jar there is also a dome like metal piece fitted to the bottom which is a great help to get any paint off of brushes or tools. Lastly, I purchased the jar from here because price wise it was cheaper than me walking into and purchasing from any art supply stores around town. GREAT product! Happy painting!!!

Awesome!
If you're a painter you NEED this. It will save you so much time and cleaning fluid. The mesh at the bottom helps you get globs of paint off the brush much faster than just a regular tub would, and consequently you don't have to waste your rags on wiping paint off your brushes, which also helps with the longevity of the bushes. You can also save on brush cleaning fluid, if you let the paint settle to the bottom of the jar in between sessions, the next time you open the jar the clean fluid will be at the top and the paint will sink to the bottom, saving you fluid. The jar is sturdy and heavy, I really like this.

Used for oil painting
I tend to prefer these jars to the silicoil ones, I think they cleaning the paint off the brushes better. I tend to fill mine with walnut oil and use that instead of OMS for cleaning while painting. They last a good while before I feel the need to switch them out for a new one. I’m pretty gentle wiping the brush against the grate though so I don’t fray the bristles.

does its job perfect
You can easily make one of these with any old jar and wire (like I did in college as a starving artist) but I definitely like the convenience of not having to cut some wire because I'm temporarily stationed in Hawaii with my husband. This is a great quick fix if you're not into saving money. Seriously, goodwill has $1 Jars and any hardware store has wire for a buck or two.

Works great!
I really wanted a Silicoil instead which is similar to this but with a coil on the inside. I thought that was what I was getting; as I did not read the description well. When I got it, I wasn't sure I was going to like it as well. But, I like it better. Because the metal screen sits low in the jar, I can set my brush in there to soak for a minute without the brush falling out of the jar. The screen is very stiff which makes it easier to get the paint off my brushes. Also, because it is a screen it works really well to get the paint out from in between the bristles if you have been bad and gotten paint to close to the ferrule of the brush. I have 2 of them I am using while I paint to clean brushes in between colors. The jar is a nice heavy glass jar and lid screws on really tight. I have not had any problems with it leaking.

Great
I love this jar because it has a wire grid inside to help clean the paintbrushes. I use oils almost exclusively, so I need that to help loosen the paint. I put paint thinner or tupentine in it. I can use it many times before I clean it out. With oils, it can be difficult to clean the jar, but I'm more concerned about my paint brushes being clean, and it does that great.
