I pulled this fully assembled Lasko 4930 Oscillating "High Velocity Fan" out of the box and it was willing and ready to make powerful gusts of winds on full power 3. This fan has a feature I've never seen before in tower fans: A small, barely visible black lever that can shoot the wind up or down, depending on where you want your aim. I was reluctant to replace the Lasko Wind Tunnel because of its wide span of strong winds, but it is somewhat of an eyesore compared to sleeker, trimmer Lasko 4930. Because the Lasko 4930 has a narrower aim of air, I recommend you use the oscillating feature. Combined with my bedside Lasko 12-inch Classic Table Fan (R12210), I'm getting plenty of powerful breezes to stay cool enough for sleeping.

I bought two of these, one for a basement and one for a bathroom. These are POWERFUL fans, especially for their size. One potential issue with the design is that they, unlike a typical fan, would be difficult or impossible to clean internally. (To eliminate that issue, I purchased some 3M Filtrete HEPA cloth and cut round "filters" to cover each of the intake suctions. When it's time to clean, I'll simply cut new filters to fit. Since each fan is in a location not frequented by guests, the white filters stuck on each side of the base are irrelevant to me. The "filters" can be easily removed.) I'll update ratings if necessary.

As the title implies, this fan works well. It's 90 degrees and this fan and the lasko air logic are cooling my house completely. It's loud, but not like bolts in a dryer loud. It's not really even loud enough to white noise my little gremlin children to sleep. But it does mean you'll have to slightly turn the volume up on anything you want to hear. No big deal to me. I like being cool and hope this fan works out in the long term.

Are you sick of being laughed at for having the weakest fan in town? Do you constantly get made fun of because your fan sounds and feels like a gentle whisper in your ear? Are you tired of having a fan that should be embarrassed to be called a fan? This stops TODAY. Do you want POWER? Do you want some SERIOUS white noise? Do you want to be BLOWN AWAY? Do you want air that CIRCULATES around the whole room? Do you want a fan that you can call YOUR FAN? If you're looking for a butt-kicking, tornado starting wind monster, you've found it. This beast can roar like a white machine lion, and will clear everything in it's path. One of the best fans, period.

This fan moves as much air as my bionaire fan that recently stopped working but takes up far less space in my small room. I needed a fan that would reach at least a certain height so I could feel the air while I sleep. My bed is very high but I don’t like the regular stand fans which have huge bases and take up a lot of room. This fan is powerful enough for me and the remote works pretty well from across the room. The only thing that I noticed is that it seems like vacuuming will be the only cleaning option and usually I take the grill off my fan once per year to clean it. I will see how much dust this collects but for now, had it 3 weeks and used it daily, it works great and is not too loud.

I think we've bought this item 3 or 4 times now from Amazon. We have it in the bedrooms. It is the best because "high velocity" means a nice steady amount of noise when sleeping. Other fans are actually too quiet for us to create white noise. This fan is not "LOUD" but just the right amount of real white noise needed when sleeping. Also it will seriously blow hard if you need it too. We can always point it away from direct center of room and it will circulate room air extremely well.

Love! This fan six or seven years ago I bought the early model tower fan and Boy did we get use out of it, we would leave it on when we left in the morning for the dog on hot days and use it at nights to help the A/C move the air around, very good fan and it's adjustable to your desired height, second one in seven tough years of use.

The fan blows nice cool air on 3 different settings. It does have a louder sound like that of a wind ac unit blowing or loudness or a small fan. If your ok with that it cools our bedroom 20x20 without turning on the ac in the the house because everyone else gets cold. I have owned many fans and towers this one is the best as far as cooling off. I bought this product the company did not give it to me or pay me.

I am very sensitive to heat and need this fan to help me sleep. It has a very low/quiet setting that works well. I do not like it pointed directly at my face, but at a distance of about 3,' it is perfect. It is much quieter than my white noise generator, which I still need even though this is running. Obviously, the higher the settings, the louder it is. I love the sleep timer. It is nice that it will shut off on its own. I do not use the circulate function. It does have lights on the top that are easy to see, but they do not seem too bright at night to me. They might bother others that are sensitive to light in a dark room. It's the right height to cool the top of my bed. It can go some higher, but I don't need it. It does beep when you push any button, which can annoy anyone nearby trying to sleep. I'm happy with it.

This thing blows. Yes, it blows really hard. This is not your ordinary tower fan. Its a blower fan and it moves air with ease. Trust me, by far the best tower fan on the market. Cost is not that bad.
