If you’re purchasing this cartridge you already know this is an excellent shaver. I purchased my series 7 in 2002 at Target. Although it’s appearance is worn & tattered it still works like the day it was purchased. Installation of this cutting head restores the performance to that of a new shaver. I replace mine every 6 months at the most. I have a course heavy beard. I recommend this product.

It's like a brand new machine!

I recommend changing these heads about every 6 months, especially if you have a copper wire beard like I do! I have used them for more than a year at a time before, and while they still cut, they don't get as close after about 6 months of use. When you replace an old one, it's like night and day!

Damn I wish I had done this sooner!

When BRAUN tells you how frequently to replace the shaver heads be sure to listen and Comply. I procrastinated and boy am I sorry. Once they are worn there is no sense in delaying the inevitable unless you like pain and poor stubbly shaves.

Restored to Smoothness

Like a new shaver - all over again. It always amazes me how much more smoothly my Braun works when I get around to replacing the shave head. They wear out slowly so we don't notice the shave getting gradually less effective but when you put on a new head WOW! you're getting that smooth, like new performance. This is my third replacement head and I'll keep at it until the body of the shaver finally quits. Note: It seems like I replace the head about every 2 years but that is really too long to wait. My "Replace Me" indicator is when the foil actually breaks. I (and you) really should not wait that long. I'm thinking that anything over 18 months (if you use it every day like I do) is a good time frame to use.

Much faster shave than the old style my my beard

This is the newer Optifoil, the cutting block claimed to shave closer than the original. Like many others, I have found the shave to be somewhat less close with this newer Optifoil. On the plus side, shaving with this new design is much, much faster for me than was the original, even when new, and with less pulling if I miss a day. A swipe in various directions takes care of the irregular hair direction growth issue. I am more than glad to trade an hour's worth of beard growth for less time in front of the mirror. The last two Optifoils lasted two years each with regular use of the cleaning fluid, which is said to lubricate the blades.

My Series 7 Is Like New Again

I had originally bought my Series 7 three years ago. It was hard to notice it wasn't cutting as well over the last year or so. It still gave me a good shave but I noticed it was taking longer to shave. I had read of bad reviews that this replacement cartridge wasn't as good as the original and was hesitant to buy it. I almost just bought an entirely new Series 7 but ultimately decided to try the replacement cartridge first. If it wasn't any good I would have only wasted thirty bucks and then I would know for sure. This replacement cartridge is just as good as the one that came with the shaver. I was able to shave my face in about half the time it was taking me with the old cartridge. It feels like a brand new shaver. You won't be disappointed.

Hugely beneficial to replace this periodically

I bought the Series 7 about 2 years ago, so I'm probably overdue on replacing this shaver head. As you get older, time goes by quicker and these things tend to fall by the wayside. In any case, I replaced this recently and I have to say, it was like night and day. The shaver felt brand new again, and maybe even better than brand new! With this new head it shaves better than when I first bought it. I'm someone who is very reluctant to replace these items. I see these replacement items as a company's way of milking more money out of their customers. That's how I felt about the shaver cleaner fluid refills, even going so far as to try and refill them myself with a homemade recipe I found on the internet. When it came to this shaver head, I thought, "Will it really make a difference, or are they just trying to get another $25 out of me?". I can say with certainty that this is a good purchase. Shaves are so much closer and quicker than they were with the worn out shaver head.

Replace as recommended!

I hadn't realized how dull my old shaver head had become. I was using it about twice a week for roughly 3 years, cleaning it periodically. It had started becoming painful to shave and at first I thought I was just sensitive. Maybe it was the soap I was using? Took longer than I care to admit for me to make the connection to the incredibly dull blades on the shaver head. Swapped it out for this new one and it was immediately apparent how foolish I had been. Much smoother, reasonably faster, and a considerably more comfortable experience now.

I love this razor!

I thought I'd give a good real world test before I wrote a review. So almost three months in here are my thoughts ymmw. The first several days were somewhat of a learning curve but one you get used to using it I love it. Does it eliminate the need for a blade? Not for me unless I shave with everyday which I don't I use it on both my head and face and if you use some preshave like Williams or Freelette (great stuff) it's almost as close as a blade Actually it probably is as close as some blades It is certainly close enough for me and I have a pretty heavy beard. If I dont shave all weekend i need to use a blade Monday and then I'm good all week with the electric. Doing your face is fast. My head is more time consuming but it actually feels good using it. I have used other electric shavers from Braun, Remington and an older Panasonic and this is a whole new level! I love this thing!!!

Fits great, works like new at a better Amazon price!!

I have read and re-read many reviews from this replacement head and others similar to this and I must say that I guess I purchased the correct one. This one is the exact replacement for the original Braun and it works perfectly. Once I saw the prices for the replacements and how much they cost I started researching and looking. There are a few other replacement heads that match this one but when I read the reviews they were bad. Then I happened across this one that had better reviews and a slightly different description and took a leap of faith. I'm glad I did. This one is great and my shaver is working like new. Love it
