perfect for the money. baby deaths are hard to find now a days this was a great buy.

This is my first fisheye lens, so I don't know how it holds up against other fisheye lens that cost more. But compared to some cheap wide-angle lens that stick out about an inch, this is a good buy for the price. When I first attached it to my camcorder (Sony SR-11), the hood on the lens was slanted. I removed the three tiny screws with the included screwdriver, aligned the hood, and screwed it back in. I noticed that the further away from the center of the lens, the videos and pictures I took had a blue/orange distortion. Kind of like how a 3-D movie would look like if you weren't wearing the 3-D glasses. But this shouldn't be a major problem if you're rendering and uploading in 480p. I render my videos in 720p and upload them to vimeo, facebook, & youtube, and they look fine. I have an external flash that mounts on top of my camcorder. When I take pictures with this lens on, the bottom 1/3 of the picture is dark since the lens is blocking the flash. This is not a problem to me because the added FOV the fisheye gives, makes up for the lost of flash. When taking pictures of people, the part that doesn't get flashed is usually the floor and feet of the subjects. There should be some videos on youtube if you're curious how wide the fisheye is. I was hoping it would give me a completely circle vignette like those from skateboarding videos, but maybe it's because I'm shooting in 16:9

Wow is the best way to describe this fisheye lens.Friends & I have bought so many of these type of lens to get good skate vids. This is the best one you will find hands down. Also the price is unbearable,I think I'll get a spare at this $ before there all gone.

Over the years I've used a few fisheye lenses on video cameras, but they usually make the image blurry on the edges. After seeing some YouTube reviews for the Opteka fisheye, I decided to give it a try. It works well on my Canon Vixia. I like that you can adjust the position of the lens hood with the set screws. I had to zoom in the camera just a little bit, because on my camera the edge of the hood doesn't show in the view screen, but it can be seen when you view the video on a real monitor. I like the tight-fitting lens caps. I wish there was a clear protective lens to put over the fisheye lens, since those point-of-view shots can get messy. In summary, this is a good lens for the price.

I used to film with a VX2000 with a Death Lens, and this is exactly the same except smaller to fit a 37mm lens thread. I'm now filming with a Sony HDR-SR11 which is a Full 1080 HD camera, that's films 1920x1080i. This lens looses no quality while filming or taking pictures. It's very clean and is cheap for a "real" glass fisheye. I recommend this for anyone looking to buy a high quality fisheye for their camcorder or camera. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! Perfect for skateboarding as well. (:

Really don't have a whole lot to say about this product, other than that it works great & the price won't break the bank. The Opteka High Definition Platinum Series 0.3x Ultra Fisheye lens has been an excellent addition to my Sony HDR-XR200v camcorder. The lens comes with three attachment adapters: 37-30.5, 37-30, & 37-25 along with a spacer ring. After screwing on the 37-30 adapter to my camcorder, the Opteka lens fit perfectly. You can just tell by the looks and feel of this baby that it is a quality item. I was expecting a sort of rounded/fishbowl kind of distortion effect when using this lens. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised upon first using this product. The quality is superb, and for $100, I don't think there is another wide angle lens out there that will match the image quality & effect of the platinum series 0.3x Opteka Fisheye lens... Very happy!!! Highly recommend!!!

Make sure you know the filter size of your lens on your camera! my Canon HR f600 had a 43mm filter thread where the fisheye is a 37mm thread so I simply bought a step down ring 43mm-37mm put the ring on the camcorder then attached the fisheye to the adapter. EASY PEAZY! don't take the sunhood off though or you won't be able to properly store your lens with the cap. simply loosen the screws and rotate till straight or out of the frame. 10/10

Love the lens it came quickly and I’ve been using it a ton since. Really wide angle shot and its a lot of fun to film with. Not the highest quality lens but definitely worth the money.

Really good quality

You wont find better for the price! Absolutely no vignetting and great clarity even in HD!!! This is a great product and would recommend this to a friend or anyone interested in Video editing..
