Both my wife and I have been using this charger on our Kindles for approximately four months now. (We both use the Kindle Keyboard). It is in almost constant use. We bought it as a replacement for the charger that came with my wife's Kindle when it finally went belly up. It is so much faster that he original product that I have been using it on my reading machine also. We have not experienced the "heating up) that many have noted here. As a matter of fact it has been working perfectly since the day we bought it. If problems pop up in the future I will update this as they happen. Great, great, GREAT !!

Forget the negative reviews; this charger is reliable and works GREAT. I bought one for my Kindle 3G reader, back in 2013. Never gave me a bit of trouble. Now, 6 years later, I'm using it with my new Kindle Paperwhite 8G... Still working, just fine. Or, perhaps, I just got lucky ???

Charges Fast

I bought this charger for my old Kindle 3, which I had not used in sometime. The charger worked perfectly and recharged the Kindle in a short amount of time. I don't know the exact time it took to charge, as I was not focused on the timing, but I remember I was surprised when I walked by later to see it was fully charged. Good purchase.

So much faster

Ooooo... This is very fast! I am retired and sometimes spend all day (or all night!) reading my Kindle. I can also shop on Amazon from my Kindle, and that uses up power faster than just reading. This charger is just wonderful. I've been using the 9W accelerated charger, which is faster than the 5W original charger, but still takes several hours to charge. This one, honestly takes not much more than an hour. How very wonderful! Thanks bunches, Gomadic, you are very much appreciated.

Well satisfied with this purchase worth a 5 star rating

Got this to charge up my Kindle DX for when I travel and not bring my home charging cable with me. Works exceptionally well and is a fast charge. Cord is only 3ft long means I have to be close to the to a wall to read from my Kindle DX. The DX lasts a long time between charges which is not a major or minor problem at all. Also protects from power surges which is handy to have. Works with my Kindle HD which allows me to only bring one cable charger with me. I believe the cost of the charger is a little to high but if it lasts a lifetime, then OK! Well satisfied with this purchase worth a 5 star rating...

Works great!!

Originally bought this for my wife's Kindle Fire. The charger that came with the Kindle worked, but it took forever to charge and would not charge if you were using it. So I got this Rapid charger and it works great. It's much faster then the Kindle charger and it will also charge while you use the Kindle. Also works for my Blackberry Z10 and my daughters Samsung Tablet. I like this so much that I am going to get another one. The only draw back is the cord, it is short, but it's really not that big of a deal for me. Love it!!

Fantastico!

When I was in need of a replacement charger for my 2nd generation Kindle, I was a bit leery of trying a brand that was not, to my knowledge, connected to the Kindle. But I was also getting rather desperate to get to reading again and the charger I had had to be taped in place to make the connection work for the recharging. So, I took a risk on this rapid wall charger. Wow! Does it ever do the job! I was leased with the snug fit for the USB-style plug-in to the Kindle itself...no forcing, no wobble...just plainly a perfect fit. Then after just an hour or two, my Kindle is all ready to go another week or more! For me and this particular Kindle, this was a better match than the original charger. If I came to this need again, I would not hesitate to purchase this product again.

A Super Fast Charge

The charger that came with my Kindle Paperwhite,flaked out on me after only 1 month. I was really skeptical about the positive reviews that claimed this was much better than an ordinary--even Kindle promoted--charger. The reviews were spot on! Yes, it's a little more expensive than some others, but IT CHARGES SUPER FAST. I've had it for 3 months and love it. Thank you, Reviewers!

Kindle Fire Charger

I have 3 chargers for my Kindle. Wasn't holding a charge and not fitting in the charging port. I ordered this charger and was amazed at how well it works. There is a adapter in the cord but does not effect use. I am throwing away all the other chargers and getting another one of these--that is how well I like it. Won't have to send my Kindle in for repair -- no charging issues at all. I have to charge my kindle at least once a day. I use my Kindle more than my laptop. This charger has been a life saver.

Must Have for eBook Readers!

This product was exactly as advertised. It works very well to charge the Kindle and other micro USB products quickly. The original charger that comes with a Kindle and other after market chargers will work, but they charge very slowly. This product however makes quick work of charging my Kindle. If you are like me and are a eBook fanatic, this is a must have. There is nothing worse than being stuck in the middle of a book and your eReader going dead, except when that happens and the only charger you have takes hours to charge the device! This is a must have for any eReader!!!!
