I bought this set of LeapReader books to go along with the LeapReader pen I bought my toddler on a Black Friday special sale. Despite even THIS item being on "special" for Black Friday, the price on Amazon was considerably lower and I just couldn't pass it up. In fact, I bought all 3 volumes for my daughter. I love the Leap Frog products and find them to be high in quality... both content-wise and durability wise. As a teacher, this is very important to me. I'm thrilled to watch my daughter fall in love with reading as a result of reading these books! Thanks Leap Frog for making such great products and thanks Amazon for making them accessible to me!

My son has had his Tag reader for several years now, and as he started Kindergarten this year, we found it even more valuable. He simply loves to read and loves the fun that Tag brings to reading. These 'vowel' series of books (both long and LeapFrog Tag Learn to Read Phonics Book Series Short Vowels have been great learning tools. They have helped him to learn the phonetics of the letters for certain, they use a lot of sight word reinforcement in simple sentence structure, have cute stories and characters, and all while making your child feel independent for be able to 'read' on his own. They are not quite as durable as some of the other Tag books, since they are not hardcover, but this also means we can put more of them in our LeapFrog Tag Storage Casefor in the car or long trips. I think these books are a great addition the ever expanding library of wonderful Tag books.

This is a great set of books that is well thought out to help beginning readers. It has a great mix of easy sight words and some very slightly more complicated words. Just what my daughter needed. She is very self conscious about practicing her reading in front of people for fear of making mistakes no matter how much encouragement we have given so this gives her the ability to practice with a little extra help.

Such cool technology. My son is 3 and goes to speech therapy, currently working on short I'd. There's a book focused on short O's in the pack, so it's perfect. The books are very full of interesting sounds, he enjoys pressing all over the pictures and listening to the extras.

My son recieved these books as a gift. There are a total of six. They are perfect early reader books. The books are not hardback but are a thick material that I think will hold up well. Downloading the audio was easy. I just tapped the reader pen on each book and they all downloaded at once when connected to my computer. For the price, it was a good way to immediately increase his leapreader library.

My son received a LeapReader pen as a gift two Christmas' ago. He loved using it but it was very hard to find books to use with it in stores, so we are thrilled that were able to find several books on Amazon. My son will use the pen to read the words then he loves to play the games that are on each page and loves to find all the sounds attached to the different objects on the pages. He is not big into dinosaurs, but really enjoys this book, so I think if your children loves dinos then they will really love this book since it is a good blend of a fictional story with scientific facts.

The second we read the first book, my daughter had no problem sounding out many of the words. The stories are very simple and have repetitive sounds. Perfect for a 5 year old. It can read the word for you, tell you the letters, or give you the letter sounds. There is also a game or two in each book that’s helps promote reading. Will definitely purchase other levels as she grows in skill.

Amazing! Hands down amazing! Don't listen to any negative reviews. This product does what it is supposed to AND it works with Tag!! Whoever says it doesn't is smokin crack. Lol!! My disaster LOVES it and it was as easy as hooking our TAG to the computer and telling the leap frog program to download the flash card audio. Easy peazy!!

We've used the leapfrog products with all of children (actually the same pen has been passed down through three of our girls and now onto our neice! The books didn't last but the pen is durable!) This product won't teach your child to read all on its own, but reinforce what they are learning and help make it a little fun. Our daughters would pull the " it's boring, I can't do it, etc. etc" routine and this helps with the games and different functions on each book. Requires some parent involvement at first, but after they get a feel for the different symbols they can easily go on their own. Love the leapfrog learning tools!
