Best instructions ever!!!

I went on the hunt for a nice inexpensive potting bench and came across this one on sale (with free shipping) for $109. Ordered it, it arrived quickly and we decided we'd try to put it together and start to use it. The wood was of good quality for the price and it smelled really good. We pulled the instructions out and they were clearly written, in graduated steps, and all of the pieces and parts were labeled. They also gave extra screws. Out of all of the projects we have purchased and assembled, this one was by far the easiest to do. Some one with some common sense actually must have written these. I read on another review, before purchasing, that the tool hooks weren't in the right place and they were correct. If you follow the instructions as they are written, you won't be able to put your tools on them. We just turned them to the side a little and all is well. They really should have been placed differently. A small blip in life....no big deal The bench itself is perfect. It's the perfect height and is quite sturdy. It has lots of "counter space" and I purchased a large plastic dish pan that fits great. I made a mistake by spraying it with Minwax Spar Varnish. It waterproofed it a little more but made it rough. I'm not impressed with that product. Someday when I have time, I'll sand it all and paint it an antique white in an exterior protective paint. This bench was a great purchase and I recommend it to anyone who is tired of leaning over to do their potting and yard work.

Just assembled this potting bench last night. Very good construction and finish. Instructions were clear. All hardware is identified and they provide one extra piece of hardware to ensure you can finish your project. Mine will stay indoors but I’ll use beeswax and orange oil to condition and darken the wood. VERY happy!

Went together easy. I move slow

Went together easy. I move slow. I'm very methodical. I tend to take the package of screws nuts bolts and whatnot and put them in individual sandwich baggies first. Imagine my surprise when each type of part had its own bag and identifier code. I was floored. They beat me at my own game. I've never seen it before. I took pictures and will try to attach them. It's a really nice bench. Excellent height. Sturdy. Easy instructions. I'm just delighted. Excellent purchase.

Very easy to assemble

Very easy to assemble. If you're going to put a finish on this, I strongly recommend spar varnish. It's what ship builders use. But you'll have to order this from an on line vendor. A good substitute is any polyurethane finish with the word "spar" on the label. It's not a true oil based finish, but it'll do. In any event (1) Put extra finish on the bottom inch of the feet (2) Don't forget to apply finish inside the storage area. (3) Drill some small holes in the storage area so water will drain. But most of all I recommend putting finish on the wood BEFORE assembly, so all surfaces are protected.

Good product, good potting bench

This product arrived timely and although the exterior of the package was deemed and taped the enclosed match was unscathed. Assembly is helped greatly by having a partner help. No defective parts all the parts were included nothing missing. Great smell of fir on packaging and assembling. I would recommend this potting bench is a good purchase. The height of the table is sufficient.

Sturdy!!!!

I was surprised by the quality and how sturdy it is. Also I was happy with the height and size as I'm 5 feet 8 and thought it might be on the small side and short, but it wasn't. We sprayed thomsons water sealant before using it on the outside... I LOVE it. Makes caring for plants a pleasure!

Great Outdoor Bar/Entertainment Bench

What a fun project this bench was!! We use it as a 'bar/entertainment' bench on our screened in porch. Before assembling we stained and polyethylened each piece. This was lengthy because of dry time between coats, but very well worth it both because we wanted a darker wood and protection from elements. We filled in the large empty spot in the back with wood lattice that we painted black. The piece came out so great! My only wish is that the lattice would have already come with the piece as it seemed so empty there without something. I'm attaching pictures of final product. I highly recommend this bench, whether you use it just the way it comes or add your own personal touches!

Excellent value - solid product

I ordered this potting bench as a Father's Day gift for my husband. It was fairly easy to put together, although our plans are to stain/seal it now that it's assembled. The bench is pretty solid, good quality, and is even better "in person" than I thought it would be. Between plantings, we'll use this as an outdoor dining buffet table, so it has a great dual purpose, and it's attractive, so it looks nice as part of our patio setup. My only issue is that the seller didn't provide good tracking/updates on when the product was shipped, and I would suggest that they consider improving that aspect of their process, but I thank them for offering an excellent, solid product at a very fair price. Another suggestion I have for the seller is to offer wheels (with locks) as an option - I would have really loved to have been able to order a "lockable wheel set" to make it easy to move the table around, so that's a little wishlist item. If you're tempted, buy it - it's a great deal.

Perfect potting bench!

Received this for Christmas and my husband easily assembled it. We keep it in the garage so it's not subjected to harsh weather but the quality is great and the table can hold a ton of stuff! I love the storage it offers! The hooks are a little wonky but if you just install them so they're sideways, they do their job. Overall, very sturdy, quality table for your gardening needs.

Love This Product

I ordered this bench to use as a temporary drink staging area, when not being used as a potting bench. The bench was just as the ad stated. I had read all the reviews prior to ordering, so I knew what to expect. I found plastic tubs that fit the recessed area so that it could be kept clean. The tubs hold ice when used as a bar and another tub holds dirt when used as a potting bench. Tubs came from Amazon thru Nisbets. I coated all the wood with urethane, several coats, before using it. I will buy another when the situation arises.
