I purchased this for my pup to eat during illness recovery, as he wouldn't eat his dry food. He still only wants this now!! Both my dogs (german sheps) digested this food very well with nice formed stools and moderate gas. The calorie content must be quite low, as they could eat it all day long. The ingredient list says water being number 1 ingredient so I guess that explains that. Big thumbs up for Alpo!

Mischief loves it

Very handy not to have to go to Wally's world for my senior Pomeranian. She is 18, almost blind, almost deaf and very hard to leave behind. She can't ride in the car much anymore because she can't anticipate the car motion. Poor thing used to LOVE the car and now she slides every which way. Anyways, Alpo canned food costs about the same at the store as it does on Amazon so I'm grateful not to deal with the hassle.

My dogs are satisfied with this food, I order it often

My dogs really seem to enjoy this. I have a chihuahua who does not like the big chunks so I take a fork and "cut" the individual pieces in half. Its not that the food is hard or anything its just that she has a little mouth and wants tiny bites. She loves the gravy though and licks that right up.There seems to be less fat in this than in Pedigree. All in all it seems to be higher quality that Pedigree, not that I'm knocking Pedigree because my dogs aren't picky, just providing a comparison in the same price range.

Quality Dog Food at an affordable price !

I am feeding my 14-year old poodle / standard with this brand dog food. Never had any problem with it, and my dog is wolfing it. Price per can with Free Delivery (Prime) beats the pants of any store in town. Advice: stay away from the label showing a LADLE ! ... It contains just half a can of soupy gravy, a sham !

Good Price, Dogs love it.

I have always fed my dog Alpo Chop House Canned dog food mixed with her dry food. She loves it and I am glad to see you have it. Love having it delivered to my front door. My dog has arthritis and we like to add Vitapet Advanced Strength Joint and Hip Chewables. These smell really good and the dogs eat them right up. That being said I wish they took more time for the dogs to eat. Basically feels like you're giving a big expensive treat

My dog loves these two flavors

My dog is really fussy on any food item. He loves these two flavors & they are about the same price on here as they are in the supermarket. Plus at this price I can keep them stocked in the pantry & NOT have to worry about running out. They always arrive in perfect condition - the cans in the supermarket can't even go without being damaged. My dog loves this mixed in with his dry dog food & spread on milk bones for what we call "sandwiches". You can't go wrong buying this case of dog food because the price & quantity is just right. I highly recommend & you don't have to cruise the dog food aisle just wait for Amazon to deliver it to you and your pooch

Gives my dog terrible gas... alpo farts are the wosrt. He seems to enjoy the food though.

Best canned food I have discovered

I mix just a little of the chop house filet mignon with warm water (gravy-like) and pour it into diamond natural lamb and rice or Kirkland lamb and rice and my 2 pugs go nuts. They eat it all blissfully unaware of all the fruits and vegetables they are wolfing down and will not stop licking their bowl until I remove the bowl from the floor. These 2 pug monsters then follow me every time I enter the kitchen and sit and stare at me hoping to get more food. I feed the little snorkling monsters twice a day. They wish it were every hour. Best canned food I have discovered. Totally blows away the pedigree ground dinners they had before. The ALPO when mixed in warm water smells good and looks good but the pedigree and all other canned foods I have tried smell atrocious when diluted with warm water and with all the other canned ground dinners I have tried I could see little globs of congealed fat and other unidentifiable tiny chunks of gunk. Will stick with ALPO. My little snorklers love it. When they are happy then I am happy.

It is very easy to mix with her dry dog food

I bought this 3 weeks ago and my dog loves it. It is very easy to mix with her dry dog food, and after it has been refrigerated, I just scoop out several large spoonfuls and microwave for 20 seconds and they too are easily mixed in. Via Amazon it cost $8.77. Today the reorder price is $14.21. Too bad. I'm sad that I will now have to drive across town to buy it at a more reasonable rate. I was going to order an iron that I purchased for my daughter-in-law for Christmas from Amazon. It cost $18.00 more now, so I selected a different model. There seems to be a pattern to these increases.

Look, let's be real, the ingredients aren't the best. I mean the 'Meat-by-product' can be a deal-breaker for some people. But less than $7 for a dozen? Can't beat that! Remember your dog is a dog, and whatever works for them, works for them. My boy was really skinny, I could see his ribs. 2 months later after adding a can to his diet (as subtitution to 100g of dry food), he's gained 15lb no joke. His coat is shiny and his waste is sturdy. Recommended!
