Love these puppets!

My husband and I had seen these beautifully crafted puppets in our local specialty toy store and fell in love with them. They were kind of pricey, so we checked Amazon and were amazed at the low prices. We bought this pirate and the kids have so much fun playing with it. Of course, it is fun to use a pirate voice and the puppet is well crafted so that when you move its mouth and hands, it makes some really fun expressions. There is a stick attached to one of the hands so that you can do hand/arm movements as well. These are similar to the puppets I have seen in professional puppet shows. I am well pleased with the quality.

Great quality for price

This is the second one my son has bought. It is great quality for the price and the other one has lasted through quite a lot with my son as it’s owner and is still holding up

I'm in love with these puppets!

You can't go wrong with Melissa and Doug puppets! I've purchased several for my son and many for gifts. Kids love them and the quality is amazing. However, if you have a toddler, I'd suggest temporarily removing the wooden rod they come with to prevent accidental injuries and damage to your household items.

My son is a collector. These puppies are well made, durable and inexpensive. He spends hours playing with his puppets and keeps coming back for more.

Bart the Pirate

I purchased this puppet for our son for Christmas. I also purchased the "Mini Scarlet Macaw Finger Puppet" by Folkmanis to accompany him. I really like the quality of the Melissa and Doug products and Barnacle Bart is no exception. He is very well made and has so far stood up to our almost 4 year old who can at times be very destructive. If I could change anything about Bart, I would give him an additional eye with an eye-patch that you can lift up. Our son is facinated with trying to lift the patch up but it is sewn into place. That is not a complaint, just a recommendation. Something else that is very nice is that the stick that is included is removable but it attaches with velcro so that it doesn't slip out during play. Our son's pre-school teacher has the Melissa and Doug police officer, and so we also ordered one of these for her for in her classroom.

Professional Looking Puppet. Great Product

This puppet is much nicer than I expected. It’s a good size, very detailed and made of a good quality fabric. I highly recommend it!

AMAZING. BUY IT!!

It is very good quality love the wooden rod to move his arms around. You can put it on either hand the hook or the normal hand. Like the materials they used the hat is nice, the hook is shiny, and it's easy to control. To me it's a hands down 5 star product!

My autistic son LOVES these puppets!

I've purchased, I think, eight or nine of these puppets for my autistic son, plus their kit for making his own puppet. For the first two or three that we received I truly had the thought, "Man, we must have gotten lucky and the person making this one was having a good day!" but have now come to see that every puppet is is made on a good day. They look really cool, are the perfect size, are made really well. I'm one of those people that believes that you get what you pay for so am still a little queasy when paying so little, but in this case you just simply get much more than you pay for. I swear that that's true. I think it's important to try and put honest pros and cons in the reviews, but despite trying really hard I can't come up with any cons. They are packaged well, shipped quickly, beautiful, high quality products...man, I can't really find anything to criticize. I feel really good every time I give them my money and I can't imagine ordering from another company that might compete with Melissa and Doug's on anything comparable. (Edit: Any time I read such a one sided review I assume that it was probably written by someone from the company selling the product. I'm not associated with this company in any way beyond being a happy customer. Honest.) Dwayne

Amazing puppets...fun for the whole family!

My husband and I bought five of these puppets for our two grandchildren (brother and sister) for Christmas. First let me say that when they arrived, my husband and I were amazed at the fine quality and craftsmanship of these puppets....and at such an affordable price! Needless to say, before wrapping them the kid in us came out and we had fun playing with them. On Christmas day, the whole family enjoyed playing and impersonating with the puppets and also commented on the fine quality. We also bought them the puppet theater to enhance their imagination and fun. Great gift and nice change from all the electronic toys!

I purchased these for my son to make his little videos they're super cute super adorable and the videos are coming out so well anyone that wants to see videos go to "Icegend 10" he's 11 he's a great kid he barely started his videos so please give him a like thank you
