where have you been all my life?
can't believe i've waited so long to get a dremel. i love this thing. i want to do everything with it, even things that don't require a dremel. when i'm bored in bed i'll often pull it out and smooth my nails out while watching TV. i use the small sandpapered head to grind down my conure's beak tip because he's too stupid to chew the various cuttle bones, flavored and not, i've provided him with. i can't wait to use it for lots of household and hobby projects. the battery lasts a long time and the tool comes with terrific accessories, a convenient battery charger, and is extremely simple to change out the accessories and such. LOVE IT!!!

Highly Recommend For Crafters With Arthritis
I really love this cordless, lightweight Dremel 7700! I owned an older model Dremel that was corded and weighted more than twice what this one does, and for a person like me who has arthritis and joint disease, it was nearly impossible to use for more than a few minutes. This model comes with enough burrs to get started and to figure out what each burr is for. After that, it's relatively simple and inexpensive to get the burrs needed for any project, whether it be jewelry making, wood working, engraving, etc. The Dremel needs to be charged before using it; the instructions suggest an overnight charge, but I didn't want to wait that long to use it so I charged it for about 5 hours before using for the first time and that seemed okay. I've used the Dremel on and off for a few days and it still seems powered up enough to go for at least a few more days. I strongly suggest that anyone using the Dremel read the instruction manual before use - even if you think you know what you're doing, and/or have used another rotary tool in the past. The only drawback with this and all other rotary tools is that it doesn't come with a chart that explains each burr and their functions. I'm sure it's impossible to list what each one can be used for, but a chart with pictures and the general functions or capabilities of each burr would be most helpful. This Dremel only has two speeds - high and low, but each seems sufficient for the things I need done so far. I highly recommend this model for rafters like me who are beginning to discover the capabilities of a rotary tool in crafting and jewelry making. I've also discovered more than a few uses for it around the house, such as minor repairs, polishing, and cleaning small items or items with small crevices, etc.

Love My Dremel
I love how easy it is to use. I used a sanding wheel on rust spots on my van. I can't work for very long at a time and spend several days in bed afterwards, but without the Dremel, I wouldn't be able to do this at all! I have a corded model but got this so I could work in the van. Did a great job so I could spray paint [used Rust-O-Leum 2x Primer and Paint, can't say enough good things about that, either!] The Dremel is easy to use, fits my hand well. I have arthritis so good fit in the hand is very important to me, and I lose my grip easily. I can keep this one in my hand! I used it for about an hour until the battery died, but that's how long I last, too. This was sanding. It lasts longer when putting screws in. My only complaint is that someone stole my battery out of my van and I had to order a replacement. But, that's not Dremel's fault! I think I'll use my other Dremel to engrave my name in this one, and vice versa. I also used this to add some info to an aluminum pet tag and it worked very well! My skills at engraving aren't good, but it's readable! Thanks, Dremel!!

MUST HAVE FOR GROOMERS
This works great. I am a professional groomer and I use this thing all day long. I have an extra battery to keep charging while I am using the one it came with so I can swap them out and always have a good charge. The batteries last for about 2-3 dogs depending on how difficult the dogs want to be. That being said, if you are a groomer then you know what I mean. I don't use the bits it came with because I use the diamond bit made for dogs with the revers cone. The bits that come with it could be useful for other things I have just never used it for anything else. This is better than the Micro 8050 in my opinion because there is no troublesome dock station that seems to fail after a while and you can always swap batteries vs. having it die in the middle of a nail trim and have to wait for a new charge. This is a good product for what I use it for. If you want it to last as long as possible get a can of compressed air (Dust Off etc.) and blast all the dust out of the motor after each use through the little vent holes.

Quiet & Effective
I had the previous lower powered model in the past which I had used over the last 6 years. With this model I had to use high power to get through my dogs nails. The battery life on the old model was getting shorter & the device was louder then it was when I first got it, so I figured I'd upgrade to this model. I have two small dogs, a Pom mix & jack russel/shih tzu mix both with clear nails. This new model is exceptionally quite and can do both dogs nails in minutes. I can run this model on low speed and still cut through nails with ease. I enjoy the extra components and nice case it comes with. Not sure if I'll need them, but still I nice to have. Charger works better than the old model and. I appreciate that it flashes while charging & stays solid when it finishes. A nice upgrade from the old model. Overall worth the extra few bucks over the smaller model to get a nice case, better charger & more efficient dremmel! Would buy again.

I am very pleased with this purchase
I am very pleased with this purchase! You can tell right away that it isn't quite of the quality that the more expensive Dremels are, but for the price I cannot complain. I have used this to carved wood, cut tile, sand, drill holes and as long as the battery is fully charged it performs wonderfully. The battery life isn't the best, but since it comes with a charger it hasn't been a big issue. Perfect for small projects.

Very effective but some IMPORTANT SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
I too am using this to trim my dog’s nails and must say it is WORLDS better than using the “pedi-paws” nail grinder. The pedi-paws could barely grind down his nails but this unit makes the pedi-paws look like a joke! IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER!!! One thing that concerns me about this unit over the Pedi-paws is, well I guess it’s two thing but... For one, this thing WAS NOT made to be used on a dog’s toe-nails, the fact that it’s endorsed by pet groomers everywhere is a happy accident but it doesn’t have the safety features of the more dog friendly demographic. This is a powerful tool meant to do powerful work, I use it on the low setting and it blazes through my dog’s nails. It’s very easy to take off a thin layer so you can be very precise and careful not to trim the quick. The second thing that concerns me safety issue wise is that, with this being such a powerful tool, there’s no safety/autooff feature. The power switch is a slide lever, that takes a concentrated effort to slide off (which, poor design imo, is the center position of a three way lever. All the way left is high, middle is off, all the way right is low) so you need, even just the slightest amount of concentration to turn it off, and not just a heavy flick to the left cuz you’ll end up on high. Not the end of the world but when you’re dealing with an animal that has concerns about having nails trimmed there’s a very real danger of hurting the animal or yourself if you lose your grip on this thing. Again, unlike the pedi paws, which has a guard protector and requires the power button to be held down to function at all and shuts off when you release the button, this until is on until you turn it off, so if you drop this thing, it’s gonna keep churnin away on whatever it lands on. My dog is not very tolerant of having his feet touched but surprisingly is way more comfortable with this unit than he was with the pedi-paws, and won’t let you near him with regular old clippers. This tool works so efficiently that I just do a nail or two a day and just do upkeep as often as necessary so it’s a quick process for him, which comes with plenty of well rewarded treats.

I had an older Dremel from like 1897 and this thing is like from 2078
I had an older Dremel from like 1897 and this thing is like from 2078! Super fast, keeps the charge longer and gets the job done! I use it mostly for my dogs' nails. Love the extra accessories. It's surprisingly fast on the low setting and super fast on high setting. It's not that loud. Which I love bc it doesn't freak my dogs out. Absolutely recommend!

Off-label use ;-)
Someone wrote on a dog pedicure device to "just get a Dremel" so I took their recommendation. Glad I did. This tool is AWESOME. I'm sure you can do all kinds of crafty things with it. I use it to trim pet claws. Love the cordless feature, the battery recharges, and once they got used to it, the dogs and cat put up with my ministrations (OK the cat still really doesn't like it but he's kind of a snarky cat). Sure beats using a clipper and them bleeding. I have Golden Retrievers and foster them as well (and get some pretty overgrown claws on some of them). Now, you can't take two inch talons down in one sitting (it can take a couple months to slowly bring down that length) but it is painless and bloodless. And they have their owner/foster doing it instead of the groomer. Who do you think is going to take greater care? Love my groomer, but I can stop if my dog seems stressed and return to the project tomorrow. Maybe some day I will actually figure out what that box of attachments is for!

Exactly what I needed! Excellent 4 Dog Nails.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I use this to for my dogs nails. After reading reviews on other dog versions I decided on this one as I figured that if it didn't work with my dog I would at least have a handy tool for other purposes. I used it the first day it came. My dog did not have any issues with the noise. He was more curious than scared. This allowed me to safely trim his nails without hurting him and it went very fast. I have used my sister's Pedipaws for trimming nails and it literally just sucked. It went so slow and barely did anything. BUT THIS DREMEL TOOL WORKS. In 2 minutes or less I was done with my dogs nails. No injuries unlike using actual trimmers so my dog was happy. Also useful as a powertool. There are several accessories you can purchase such as for drilling.
