The Real Thing - Must Have for Any BOB or Home Kit
This stuff is amazing, what more can be said. It's exactly what the doctor ordered, literally. It's exactly what the doctor ordered. Please keep in mind that povidone-iodine is not meant to go inside of wounds, as it can damage tissue and prevent healing. It is intended for areas around wounds, because infections will creep into wounds right there from the skin around the wound, the dirt there, and so it is used primarily for cleaning areas prior to opening a wound, like a shot, or after the wound has happened. It's important not to use INSIDE of a wound. This stuff will continue to work AFTER it's applied to the outer area around a wound, which completely kills all the bacteria that would try to get in. Laceration happens, flush the wound with clean water using whatever necessary pressure, fill wound if necessary with gauze if it won't stop bleeding, basically stop the bleeding. Then clean around the wound with the Betadine and properly bandage the wound to keep any and all outside elements from entering the wound. It is best to give the wound a very wide berth of room. Use right up to the wound and a couple inches outward at least so that the bacteria always remains at least two inches from the wound. Thanks for the great product that is exactly the same product that doctors in hospitals and clinics the world over are using. This stuff also lasts forever, way past its expiration date, but you didn't hear that from me. Basically in ten years, if you're forced to use this or nothing, use this. The active ingredients are still there! Shake a bit if necessary! Dr. Jonman - (not!) Just practiced is all :)

Great for my dogs topical... to clean infection.
Very good to use on dog infections, hot spots or wound. Vet gave me this and I ran out and got more. Now she has no more hotspots as another vet said it may be environmental allergies and gave us two weeks of dog allergy meds.. then he said to give her two benadryl in eve. No more hot spots ever.

For cuts and infections there isn't a better solution than Betadine cause I know what this stuff did to repair my step cousin's face falling from a bike twenty years ago and it was one nasty scrape and couldn't believe totally healed and recovered without a scar..."

As first aid this stuff is the best stuff for minors cuts, scrapes.
My wife had some minors cuts, so we went to see the Dr. He left the room, came back with a bottle of Betadine, and I thought what the heck is that? Well, as first aid this stuff is the best for minors cuts, scrapes, etc. Also when I was a kid, I remember my Mom applying this stuff on us whenever we had minors, cuts, etc., and I got the real Betadine bottle.

This is superior for treating wounds
This is superior for treating wounds. I cannot say enough about it. With wounds you have to clean regularly and then I apply this. My spouse had a bad wound on his leg from a fall and I applied this with very regular upkeep on clean bandages. It healed everything up super fast. When we were kids our grandparents would use this. Excellent.

Does what it needs too at good price.
New and fresh. Useful for reptile husbandry. I store tools soaking in it to prevent any cross contamination just in case someone gets a cold and nice to keep on hand for cleaning if ever a snake needing surgery or healing from a burn. I rescue a lot and reptiles sometimes need a soak in a betadina solution with water to help prevent infection.
