I’m in the pipefitters local, and this thing is awesome. The light comes in handy all the time when working in poorly lit conditions, and I love that it’s made of solid aluminum. This is the best level I’ve used so far. The light hasn’t failed me yet, hot or cold weather, and it’s been dropped countless times. For other guys in the piping/plumbing trades, you can use this on pvc fittings as a pry bar to break loose smaller fittings if you make a mistake (just don’t wait too long, If you do the fitting will break before the glue). Stick it in the end and give it a twist. Hasn’t bent on me yet lol

*Update* I have had this level for over a year now and still no issues. It remains accurate and in good condition, regardless of many drops. I have owned this level for over 5 months. As an electrician, I use it very frequently. It is as good as a $35 Klein which is made in identical shape, size, and material. Its been droped many times from 6+ feet and never broekn. I love the earth magnets which give you a very strong hold. Couldn't be happier especially for the price.

I am a home improvement licensed contractor operation out of the Boston area. I have had this tool on my jobs since September '15 and no longer use any other level of this size, a pleasure to own and use. Upside: Everything scores high here, including the price point. A well crafted tool. Downside: Being really picky here; I would have to say the plastic battery cover, although this has not been an issue so far...

Seems gimmicky and unneeded right? Well so I thought, but I went ahead and purchased it anyways. As a commercial plumber, a pocket level is used constantly, and so I was looking for a high quality packet level. The construction is superb, the magnets are super strong, and the light-up bubbles are amazing. It is great in corners, chases, joists spaces, and anywhere else where light is limited. Its much more convenient to have a light-up vs trying to shine a trouble light on at a level and be blinded by the light. It also works well in fully lit areas as the bubble is much more pronounced and can be seen much easier from angles. I love this product.

Why buy multiple flimsy plastic levels when this bad boy will last a lifetime? Seriously solid construction on this level, I wouldn't have a single reservation bringing it on any job site (other than it being stolen because of how nice it is). Looks like machined aluminium faces with an epoxy glue holding the glass gauges in. Magnet is adequately strong for the purpose, won't fall off the work but you won't have to fight it to get it off either. Electricians may find it more useful than others with the built-in conduit angle levels. I don't bend conduit much but this thing is just as good for general purpose leveling as it is for specialty conduit bends. 5/5 would buy again for myself or as a gift to others.

Performs as well as highend levels at a fraction of the price. Compared it to my coworkers klein conduit bending level and it is identical down to the endmill marks on the magnetic side, the only difference is the color and brand name on it. Magnets are stronger than I expected but not as strong as I was hoping for. It still stays where you want it and it gives an accurate level.

When I joined the trade in Texas (mostly non-union) the hefty fee of the large amount of general tools an electrician needs was daunting so I cut corners where I could. A magnetic level was one of those items I couldn't justify the 30 to 40 dollar price for. After all, that's how much my Kleins were. This proved to be a solid investment. As a professional there aren't many avenues where you can cut corners when it comes to tools but this may be one of them. The magnets are strong and have not fallen out, the vials are highly visible even in low light situations and very accurate, and the unit is very durable. During my first 2 (mayyyybe 3)years as an apprentice I dropped things often, particularly from lifts and ladders. The Swanson level was unphased every time. Highly recommended for people new to the trade.

Ok so after buying two of these torpedo levels and using them every day in the plumbing trade I decided to buy a third for a coworker. The first one I bought for myself the second for my boss who loved the one I had. The light works great. Can't believe how handy it is. It seams I'm always in dark basements crawl spaces. Anyway we both use them every day and both have been dropped a few times. Both still work and none of the magnets fell out so far. I have mine around 6 months and it does get used every day five or six days a week. Other people have said the magnets fall out. That may be true it is an inexpensive level and is made in China. So far I have had no problems with the magnets or the lighting of the level. Also someone complained about light being accidentally turned in and killing the batteries. The light on the level only stays little for around 30 seconds then shuts off. I have not had any problems as far as that goes however the batteries that came with the level did not last very long. Not a problem worth complaining about for the price of this level. AAA batteries can be replaced easily and the energizer batteries last a long time using the light mode often. All around great little level. I would not be buying a third if I had problems with the first two. Also the magnets are strong. Others complained about that. The only other level I have seen with a more magnetic grip was a lenox level which I used for years and loved but the 45° level broke after dropping from an extension ladder. They don't make that level anymore as far as I know which led me to this one.

For the money, this is a great little level. Klein makes a similar one for three times the price. I don't like paying top dollar for my tools, the risk of breaking them, losing them, or having them stolen on a job site is too great, so I prefer to buy mid-range items like this. The orange color is nice and bright so that it's easier to see in a dimly lit construction site. This model works just as well as more expensive brands, the magnets are holding up well and it's bubbles are accurate.

I work in commercial HVAC and use a my torpedo quite often. For what I do, I need strong magnets and a level that can handle falls onto the hard concrete from sometimes over 15' up. The savage does the job well. Its made well and doesn't dent up too bad when it does fall onto the concrete, thus throwing off the accuracy. I will continue to buy this level until I find a better one. This one does NOT come with the lights, so if you're looking for the lighted version, this is not it.
