Best fisheye for HV30 owners

This lens is absolutely incredible. It is amazingly wide, with alot of distortion, not alot of vig, and the quality is superb. I use this lens primarily for filming skating and action sports. The only thing I did not like about this lens was the lens shade, even if you put it on correctly, the left side of it gets in the shot. You can easily unscrew the lens shade, or do what I did, and shave it down with a power sander. Overall amazing lens for the price. If you have a camera with a 43mm thread mount, buy this lens.

Estou bastante satisfeita com a lente Opteka. Para quem não tem recurso para comprar um objetiva fisheye essa é uma ótima alternativa.

I really like this lens. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box to find a soft carry bag, screwdriver, lens cloth, spacer ring, and printed instructions in addition to the lens and lens caps. It's surprisingly light weight as well. The included lens hood causes black vignetting so I removed that and problem solved. I also want to comment about the company support of this product. I (thought) I had an issue so I emailed them and they were very prompt and helpful. I actually got assisted by Mr Opteka himself. Wow! The lens is a real bargain and the company (Opteka) reminds me of the kind of company and support that has become rare these days. If you need a good quality fish eye lens I would not hesitate to buy this. It's nice to have one when you need those type shots.

Impressive Quality

I purchased this lens to go on my Canon VIXIA HF M40 video camera. I use it to shoot live bands in close quarters. This lens gives me a huge fisheye field of view without much deteriation around the edges. It allows me to capture the band and much of the crowd in one shot. Well built and impressive quality for the price. I will definitely consider using Opteka lenses in the future.

Skateboarding

This is my second Opteka fisheye. This product for the price is amazing. I pair it currently with a Canon HF-R800. After removing the outer ring (vignettes in 16:9) this lens is good to go hit the streets! Solid product 100%...order it and go skate!

excellent lens for the money

I'm not using it.....my son is, for skate, surf and skim videos. He raves about it. Forgot what kind of video camera he uses, it's not a high end one, but not a cheapie either, it is HD..... ($450 or so IIRC). I did look thru it a few times when he was showing me what it could do, and it is pretty awesome. Crystal clear, no distortion. When he's down low to the ground filming his buddies skate at the part, you see the WHOLE scene.....very cool. Highly recommended.
