Absolutely love this product. I used one for each of my 5 kids and just bought this one for my grandson. Perfect for meals out or times you are away from home. Great for babies once they are able to eat foods with a little more texture. Can easily grind a piece of steak, potatoe & a little veg all together to make a complete meal. I love this product & recommend it highly to all parents!

This thing is super handy for making baby food!! I almost wrote it off as low quality as the handle was very wobbly, you just need to screw the adjustable top piece all the way and it cranks much more smoothly.

Don't waste your money on the more expensive puree machines. We love this thing, my son is on the medical ketogenic diet (not the same as the fitness/soccer mom keto diet) for seizure control so his food intake is very regulated. He can have two 100 calorie puree's snacks a day (no he doesnt only get 200 cals of food a day, these are snacks so he can enjoy eating sometimes as he gets fed through a g-tube for 80% of his meals) and if we dont batch mix them ahead of time the quantity of food (berries, etc) is too small to get properly puree'd in an electric machine, this thing works with small amounts very well. Honestly try this ~$10 mixer before buying a $90 one. Inexpensive, easy to clean, works with small amounts of food, would buy again.

I prefer this in almost all ways to the KidCo food mill of similar shape and function. (This is not to say the KidCo is a bad product. I simply prefer the Green Sprouts one. The one reason I can see for the KidCo might be if your baby is just starting solid foods, and this is because the KidCo has smaller holes in the grinding surface and hence makes food slightly less textured. The KidCo also came with an extra gasket, and some versions come with a carrying case. Also, the KidCo is a little less prone to leaking liquid out the base.) Pros of the Green Sprouts: --Bigger overall, meaning more room in the base to fill with food and more room in the bowl for milled food. It also has a 'pour' spout on the bowl. --Easier to understand. The Green Sprouts directions were longer and clearer. --Easier to use. The KidCo is stiffer and harder to push down and harder to turn. --Easier to disassemble. The KidCo is a pain in the rear to get apart. I often have to jam a toothpick in one of the holes in the grate to get the top to unscrew. By comparison, I just tighten the easy-turn knob on the Green Sprouts' central post and then unscrew the top. --Easier to clean. I frequently have to painstakingly use a toothpick to poke food out of the tiny holes in the grate on the KidCo. With the Green Sprouts the holes are bigger and food rinses right out. --Stainless steel both on the turning part that crushes the food and on the grate that the food squishes through. (As for the reviewer who had this 'explode'... it must either be a fluke or she was grinding counterclockwise instead of clockwise. I have never had that problem with this mill, nor do I see how it would even be possible.) Keep in mind that this isn't a blender and food will end up a bit textured. But for what it claims to do, the Green Sprouts carries through 100%.

This baby food mill is perfect for making your babies food from what you cook for the rest of the family, and it will grind meat as well. Start off with simple one item things and move up to mixtures as the baby grows. Save money by making your own baby foods. I do both, mill my own and buy ready made stuffs. Easy to use, easy to clean and lasts. I would buy this again.

This is the best way to begin with table foods for your baby. Even after they have moved on to whole foods, the mill is great to rice or puree small quantities of fruit or vegetables for sauces, etc.

This is my number one go to gift for the new moms. I like that you can take it with you and use it at restaurants or at holiday meals at other homes. It is so easy to start your babies on foods. It makes about the right portion to feed a child too.

I had been looking for a long time to get one like this. I used one when my 30yr old daughter was a baby. This works great for what I need top prepare for my 9month old grandson.

I had one of these that lasted through 4 kids- now I am getting my first 2 grandbabies within 4 months! The convenience of feeding the baby the good food the whole family eats together is a gift I treasured then and want to pass on to my daughters now. So I bought three- one for each of them and one for grandma's house. This one is actually bigger than the one I used 20+ yrs ago.

I did a lot of research on baby food mills before purchasing this one, and I am very happy with the quality, ease and size of this mill. It has a metal grate and it comes apart very easily to clean. I can see it can leak on some people, but it has not on me (you really just need to be mindful on how much liquid is in what you are grinding and how hard you are pushing). I do wish it had a case like some of the others but that won't keep me from taking it around. I would definitely purchase this for others.
