We ordered 2 and used these for a small catered party at our house and they worked out fantastic! We used them with the trays catering brought and our food stayed warm and heated throughout the day. No worries about flames, chafing trays, pans of waters. We just put the food trays right on top. We could fit 2 half trays on 1 and a full tray on the second. As for the trays they come with, the aluminum pans seem fine, well built and I gave them a quick wash upon arrival, the plastic covers they come with I'm not sure how they will hold up. Should be fine though. Very lightweight product, no on/off switch so you have to plug out to shut off, for the cost though I don't think I could do better! We will use them for all of our gatherings from now on and may buy a 3rd.

Great for large gatherings.

We bought two of these right before Thanksgiving, 2016. We were expecting around 20 people for dinner. They worked out perfectly! Kept all the sides and sliced meat warm while family gathered, talked and ate for hours! We have used them a couple other times since then and they have worked great! Follow the directions and get the pans warm before putting food in. They were not hard to clean either.

I purchased two of these on a lightning deal. I'd say for the discounted price it's a good purchase. It's a good product. It was easy to keep food warm, easy to use, easy to clean. My guest where impressed. I would suggest getting them on sale, my only complaint is the regular price seems a little steep for the size.

This was an awesome buy. I purchased 2 of these which worked out great since we ended up with 6 side dishes. I was able to fit 3 1/2 lbs of creamy garlic mashed potatoes in a tray. I baked my sweet potato streussel (5 lbs) in another tray. These trays look small but are deeper than I had imagined, and will feed 12 people easily. It kept our Thanksgiving dinner warm for hours.

Great for Saturday mornings!

I like to make a big breakfast on Saturday mornings that is more of a brunch. My four teenagers don't always wake up when I do or at the same time. Now I can make pancakes, eggs, bacon and keep it warm and appealing. Used it twice in the week I got it to try it out and everyone was very impressed. Originally got it for when we have family over, small get togethers and such but realized it can be used more often. Yes it had a smell when first turned on but it said to let it run 10 min to burn off, I'd recommend an hour. Second time we used it there was no smell. EASY to clean and also excited to use it as a warmer for large 9x13 dishes if not using the individual pans. And as others have mentioned this is not a cooker you need to put the food in it already warm. FYI-The pans are the right size for us but they are not giant for a restaurant. The middle seems warmest and I would undercook eggs if you are going to leave them in there a while or line the bottom with parchment paper, no one likes eggs that turn green from the metal.

Worked perfectly! Shipped well, appearance and function as expected. Good capacity (was hosting 20 people and serving multiple dishes of Indian food, so supplemented this with other insulated containers I already owned). Kept food nicely warm for 3 hours without drying out food. IMPORTANT NOTE: The instructions clearly state that you need to burn this thing at high for 10 minutes before first use. Even though I did this (actually, I did 20 minutes to be extra careful), I found that it was still emitting those odors after being on for 3 hours at the party. However, you would never notice it unless 1) you knew to expect it and 2) you got your nose pretty close to the unit.

Where have this been all my life?!

This works great! Used it during thanksgiving and for once, my food were all HOT. You can even see the condensation on the lid in my pictures. I love this thing! It actually carmelized and Cooked my bbq sausage a little more if I set it on high. Will be using this for all party and gatherings. Thanks!

Great purchase for a great value

This is a fantastic product and a great value. The pans are sturdy and a great size. I purchased this for a brunch I was hosting. Kept all the food warm but didn’t dry it out at all. Also love how you can take the trays off and just use the base as a warmer for your own dishes. DEFINITELY recommend this product

Greatest purchase I have made for entertaining

Greatest purchase I have made for entertaining. They keep food warm allowing you not to worry about everything been done at the same time. I work so hard to prepare food that it's a shame when it gets cold waiting to be served. It does not continue to cook food, just keeps it warm perfectly. If I had a complaint, the lids could fit better. Maybe extending the depth of the lip on the lid so that it fit securely inside each separate pan. But a great product for it's price. I have no real complaints. It really needs an on-off switch. Now, as soon as you plug it in, it's on. Lots of crawling under the serving table. Christmas dinner 2018. I have scallop potatoes in one tray, oiled asparagus in the second, and vegetable au gratin in the third. I'll pop all three pans into the oven about an hour before I plan to carve the prime rib and then directly onto the warming tray itself. No muss, no fuss. Life couldn't be easier. Clean up is simple. But, I warn you, don't put lids in dishwasher, they will melt.

Must have if you entertain

I bought it for a party to keep appetizers warm. I did not use the trays. They look cheap with plastic lids but would be okay for dinner party with entrees I guess. The nice thing is that I could just use it as a warming try and use on my own dish. It kept the food warm for a few hours. (I didn't cook the food in the dish so I warmed up the dish first with hot water so the food goes into a warm dish.) At first when I plugged it there was slight smoke and smell but it disappeared after a few minutes. If you host party often this is a nifty appliance.
