It's Logitech.
It's worked perfectly on multiple computers. Literally the only "issue" I've ever had is that when first plugging into a computer it can take a minute, for the drivers to all be setup, and even that delay has only been on older computers. Plug it in, give it a few seconds, and it works flawlessly. It feels nice in the hand (shape, texture, size). The USB dongle storage spot is accessible and sturdy (its not going to slide out accidentally) and when the dongle is removed, you wont notice the opening from it's absence while holding it. I've had no connection issues. The buttons depress nicely and are well placed. It's exactly as advertised with no problems. If there are other features needed, that's a different story. If you need other features, then you need a different product. Looking back, I probably would have bought the R800, just to get a green laser pointer, better range, a timer, vibrations, radio signal strength indicator etc. However, that has nothing to do with this. So, if you want more, take a look at that one. Don't buy a cheaper product. Those products are cheaper for good reason. It could be overall design, or materials, or customer service (logitech sent me a brand new k800 keyboard when I told them one key was broken), or quality control (how many lemons/bad quality reviews do you see for logitech? for other brands?). You'll be making a tradeoff you'll likely wish you hadn't. Those products are not cheaper because Logitech is somehow not giving you your moneys worth.

... a number of presentation clickers - this one is pretty much the epitome of the concept
I've had a number of presentation clickers - this one is pretty much the epitome of the concept. Hardly anything negative to say about this. It is simple - just a few controls, well laid out and obvious to use. I've had ones that were so complicated and did so much that they were useless. This one will do just a few things - start your slide show, move to next or previous slide, and blank the screen. That's all a presenter should do! And the USB fob for the computer stores neatly into the pointer when not in use - brilliant. The laser pointer is good but not great - but quite usable. Only small negative is that the power button can be fairly easily turned on accidentally, and the batter cover comes off a bit to easy. But I'd buy this one again in a heartbeat if the one I have now was lost.

Get this to be able to remotely control PowerPoint and other software during presentations
Get this to be able to remotely control PowerPoint and other software during presentations I was caught out at a conference, where I was asked to make a presentation -- but didn't have any way to advance to the next slide on my MacBook Air. Fortunately, someone loaned me their "clicker." As soon as I got home, I researched and bought this one. It works great on my Mac, with no need to install any software. Just plug the USB dongle (which stores inside the remote) into your laptop and you're in business. There's a little red laser pointer built into the remote control. It works. However, I carry a big bright green laser pointer which is much much much brighter. HINT: The remote runs on two AAA batteries. If you don't use the remote often, take out the batteries between uses, to prevent them from leaking. (Hey, it's possible.) The remote includes a nice soft zippered case. I store the AAA batteries in the case. It works best if you put the remote into the case first, and then stuff the batteries in. HINT: Keep this in your briefcase or laptop case! It doesn't do you any good if you leave it home. HINT: I wrote my last name on both the clicker and USB dongle so that if I forget them (can happen at a busy conference) the next speaker knows who they belong to.

Quality pointer with nice features
I bought this to work with my Mac Book. It works flawlessly and has a great feel to it. The bag that came with mine is slightly different than some of those pictured in the review section, but is nice and keeps the pointer from getting too banged up or dirty in my bag. A lot of these pointers that have on board storage of the usb dongle/receiver, can be tedious to remove the dongle. I find this ones stays in well, but is very easy to grip and remove. If they could include a green laser at this price, it would be hard to beat for the money. It's still a great deal for a well-made pointer.

Perfect for my thesis defense!
This was just what I needed for my master's thesis defense presentation. It is perfect for speaking in front of an audience and seamlessly advancing slides...no more awkward hovering over the laptop! The red laser is just an added plus, but refrain from too much pointing and circling with it as it gets dizzying.

Great presentation remote
This remote performs extremely well. It's speedy, reliable, and seemingly durable. It also feels comfortable (rubberized texture with good curves) and not too light but not at all heavy. It is completely plug and play, and seems to function as a keyboard that only has the specific keys needed for operating powerpoint. But that means it works in other things. For example f5 is the hotkey to start a presentation, but it will also refresh a browser page. I expect this to be my go to presenter for quite a while. The range is plenty for presentations on smaller stages, meeting halls, or classrooms. If you are walking 20+ steps across a stage, this *might* not be powerful enough. Only weakness is that a brighter or bigger laser would be nice. It is a little small for a classroom setting. However, among the presenters I've looked in to. I think this one hits the sweet spot of price and quality. Clearly superior choices cost about twice as much. I did not find a less expensive choice close enough to this quality and performance.

Would buy again, I love this product
I use for school and work presentations. I would buy this product again and recommend to anyone. However advice is to wait for sales, sometimes you can get really good deals from Amazon for this product. Pros: 1) Good Battery Life - after over 3 months of regular usage, the battery is still good. Easy to replace with spare battery in case it runs out. 2) Red LED for pointing at slides is clear - shows up clear no matter if the presentation uses a dark or light background. Very good strength and works well from 15 feet away. 4) Works for Apple and Windows - I sometimes have to present using different operating systems. This will work on both. Huge plus. 5) Works for powerpoint and Prezi. I use both interchangeably, and this works with PP And Prezi on both Apple and Windows. ++++ 6) No software to download - Just plug in, wait a few seconds, then ready for use. 7) Intuitive Controls - Easy to use and understand. 8) Ergonomic - Have held for 1+ hour presentations. Comfortable to hold. Also light which is a plus. 9) Travel Friendly - Small and easy to transport. Comes with a nice Travel case. The part of the remote that you plug into the computer you are using fits into the remote, so everything is in one small convenient package. Cons: 1) Would have preferred the ability to charge via USB rather than using batteries. However, the battery life is good so this isn't a huge con for me. 2) Would like to have ability to play Videos on PowerPoint with this. It's not often, but sometimes I have videos embedded in my presentation. I can set it to where it will play automatically upon starting the slide, however a function to pause and play would be useful. I don't really use this much, but for people with a lot of videos in their presentation, this may be a concern.

Exactly what I was looking for!
As part of my job I do a lot of PowerPoint presentations from my MacBook Pro. It gets old constantly walking over to my laptop to hit the next button, or worse have someone else run the keys. I like to be mobile during my presentation, so a remote was a must. I ordered the R400 based on the reviews here on Amazon and the fact it was rated the number 1 presentation remote. Initial impressions, feels good in the hand. Comes with genuine Duracell AAA batteries which are my favorite. The fact that the USB dongle stores in the base of the remote is genius, love it! The mesh zipper travel bag is a nice touch, and will help keep it undamaged in my laptop bag. I'm running OS X Yosemite on a 2011 MacBook Pro. I plugged in the USB dongle and the keyboard wizard immediately popped up. Some other reviews here said for Mac just close the wizard and the remote will still work (albeit one reported the play button did not function). I left the wizard open, and hit some of the keys on the remote. It popped up asking me if this was a generic US, UK, or Japan keyboard. I selected US and finished the wizard. Opened MS PowerPoint and the remote works perfectly. The play button and display mute buttons both work as well. Although the play button opens the slide in Standard View, and I prefer Presenter View for external screen output. Will have to see if I can tweak that button's settings. Last but not least, the forward and back slide buttons work perfectly which is the real key. I tested the range at 20-30ft which is the max I will ever use it. Highly recommended!

Awesome Presenter & Clarify Mac Concern
This is a wonderful presenter, very well built- you can really feel the quality compared to other lower cost units! I read numerous reviews before purchase because I use Mac and some reviewers said it works on Mac and some say it does not. Logitech claims on the product webpage it is only compatible with certain Windows OS versions. I took the chance and purchased hoping it would work. In testing it, I find it did not work perfectly with Keynote, there were some buttons that did not work correctly like Blackout or the start/stop button, however slides do advance forward and back. That being said, I really do not use Keynote as I have MS Office for Mac (2011) and in this program, PowerPoint works 100%, all buttons function as intended. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about the Windows/Mac compatibility. Macbook Pro 2013 with OS 10.12.6

Helpful and Valuable Product
I absolutely love this product. As a student in business school, we are always doing presentations for class. This simple product has given us such a competitive advantage against other groups, of whom we were graded against. Every professor comments on our professionalism with the clicker. I works perfectly and doesn't require any downloads. It's as easy as plugging it in and clicking away. The only thing I would be weary about is when you use Google Slides. If you don't maximize the presentation screen, sometimes the clicker won't work. It's an easy fix that doesn't make me vote any less than 5 stars on this product
