  • Tongue or frame must be between 2 inches square and 3 ½ inches x 4 inches rectangular

  • Extra-long 8 ½-inch shaft can hold 8-inch to 15-inch tires

Worked perfectly! Purchased large bulky carrier and it was not only heavier than necessary for my tiny trailer spare tire, it didn't fit - anywhere. So, i bought this thinking it was all i really needed for the small tire and it worked perfect. Went out and bought lock and I'm a happy camper!

so i had been confused on how to put this on my boat trailer with the tire for quite some time. there was no directions at all. i found the best way to install this onto the boat trailer was by having the tire rest on top of the trailer then going from the bottom up threw the rim then screwing the latches on. i have took a picture of what i did so others dont get confused

ive only ever seen these type with the arm type nuts on trailers built with them on. they work great. no wrench needed to remove them. i suppose it would be nice to be able to lock it if you ahve a trailer with bling wheels, but a zip tie works fine for me. whoever says it doesnt come with nuts or you need lugs or whatever is an idiot. the bent metal things have threaded holes. like awkward wing nuts.

I used it to mount my 12" 5-hole spare tire horizontally at the front of my trailer (just under the bow of my boat). Easy install and seems sturdy enough. I didn't lock the tabs together, and the hardware is a little awkward to spin off and on quickly so I probably should have just used wingnuts or lug nuts. Nice to know I can lock it if I want. Hopefully it holds up to the saltwater.

After reading the reviews I purchased these bolts. Two things that need to be noted. 1. The seller description needs to say that NO NUTS are necessary. 2. As another reviewer stated that he was disappointed because no nuts came with the carrier. So I ordered the bracket and before taking out of the package, purchased some nuts and lock washers. The locking brackets ARE the nuts! So now I have a few extra washers and nuts laying around now. You can use a padlock or just a snap ring to insure the brackets do not back out. I put one carrier on a 12" rim/boat frame and one on a 18" rim/angle iron trailer frame (both 5 bolt holes). Worked perfectly!!

Great little product. Does the same job a lot of the bulkier tire brackets do, but for a fraction of the cost and weight. Even lets you secure the spare with a lock. I would recommend that this come with 2 washers, so when the brackets screw down tight, they do not bite into the steel and shave into the galvanized or painted surface of the metal wheel. Would also be nice if this came in galvanized or aluminum or stainless steel, not just zinc coated steel.

Did what I needed plan and simple. I used this on a pipe top utility trailer to secure the spare tire to the trailer and securely locked in place. While the photo may not make sense as to how it attaches to the trailer and how the lock it self works, it does so very well. The design allows it to be used in many various mounting situations and with almost any well bolt hole pattern. Great solution to a trailer owners security needs. Not to mention a bargain price, simple installation and Amazons fast delivery.

These are super simple and really great. I decided to drill two holes in my trailer frame and run this through them. They fit super tight and hold my spare completely up and out of the way. Excellent easy product at a great price!

Works like a champ. I re-worked an old trailer that didn't have a spare and used this to mount it to the front of the trailer box. Good design and very secure. My only recommendation would be to 1) oil the threads so you can remove it later if/when needed, and 2) maybe don't use a lock if you aren't worried about theft. A carabiner really works fine, just something to secure the two ends. But it's a great design and I highly recommend it. My spare size was 205/75/R15

Simple and easy to install in two minutes. The square U bolt fits around the trailer tongue from the bottom with the threaded ends facing up. Slide the ends of the U bolt though two of the wheel lug holes on the spare wheel and tire assembly, and screw the two threaded brackets onto the U bolt. The spare tire rests on top of the trailer tongue. I used a carabiner clip to help prevent the brackets from possibly coming loose.
