Changed my life... not kidding.
Struggled with post run headaches for a couple of years. Headache would come on around 1 pm after an 8 am run ranging from 4-11 miles. Chalked it up and took 800 mg of ibuprofen to get through rest if day and would wake up next day with headache too. I then started playing with hydration and nutrition day before and morning of with no changes. Read somewhere that salty sweaters need to replace the salt. I have a white film on me after I'm dried somewhat indicated salt loss. I started licking himalayan rock salt sporadically post run with slight changes. Then, I read a blog that mentioned this product and the person had the same issue I did. Couldn't wait to try it so went to local running store that sold it. Followed bloggers recommendations after they had done trial and error. I took 2 capsules 1/2 hour before run then one capsule after running for 1 hour and another at hour 2, if applicable. In any case, I took 1 capsule at 1 hour intervals for at least 2 hours post run and voila!!!!!! NO HEADACHE!!! I've never taken more than 6 in a day. Limit is 10 per manufacturer. I just ran my 4th half marathon using this strategy and still cannot believe I found the trick after all this time.

Pediatric cardiologist recommended SaltStick brand by name
My teenage daughter needs this for treatment of POTS, per her pediatric cardiologist (who recommended SaltStick brand by name). The capsules are dauntingly large (she takes four per dose, 2x daily) to swallow, but I open them into orange juice, shake it *very* well, and she gets it down with no problem. Since this has been incorporated into her regimen (along with a LOT of water), her symptoms have dissipated dramatically. I wouldn't mind if the product was available in powder form, but for now, opening the capsules is a workable (albeit tedious when you're in a hurry) workaround. As an aside, I have had to contact SaltStick with questions on a couple of occasions, and the company is responsive, professional, and a pleasure to work with.

Greatly Improved My Life
Something went wrong with my 81-year old body about ten months ago: my sodium level fell significantly below the normal range and for some strange reason, I developed a constant pain in my left abdomen. My MD suggested I increase my salt intake, but having eaten a very low salt diet for at least four decades due to high blood pressure, I did not enjoy salty food. I decided to try the SaltStick Caps, taking two after each meal. This really helped reduce the abdominal pain, but not eliminate it. After a month, I started taking three Caps after each meal and the pain stopped. It was just that simple; the pain ended. My sodium level is now within normal range. The ending of abdominal pain is not something in my head; it is very physical. I will probably have to take the Caps for the rest of my life, but it is a simple and relatively inexpensive solution to increasing my sodium level and eliminating abdomenal pain.

Salt Stick Caps
I work in construction in Denver, where it is both hot and very dry all summer. I found that no amount of water could prevent me from driving home with a nauseous headache. I really try to avoid added sugar and food dye, so drinking a ton of Gatorade was not going to happen. I reached the point that I thought if I couldn't find a solution I was going to end up hurting myself or someone else trying to drive home in that condition, so my husband went to REI to look for a solution for me. He came home with this, and I have never gone to work without it since. I have used it for several years now, just taking one or two whenever I start to feel bad (or sooner if I'm paying attention). That generally works out to 1-4 per 8 hour day, depending on the humidity and intensity of the sun. (If you've never lived in a high desert that might not make sense...) On a good day that completely solves the problem. On a bad day I go home with a manageable, every day kind of headache. I have recommended this product to several of my coworkers, who have also found it helpful.

Really helps with the Sodium for POTS patients
After being diagnosed with POTS, my doctor recommended that I increase my sodium intake. These capsules help me get in my sodium and never upset my stomach. Highly recommend

No more headaches!! Life changer!!
I do not want this to sound overly dramatic but I'm sure it will. This product has changed my life. I used to get terrible, debilitating headaches anywhere around 2 to 4 hours after my runs. I tried everything from hydrating really well including the day before, right before my runs, during my runs and after. I drank water, sports drinks with electrolytes but nothing seemed to work. The headaches were inevitable and I dreaded them to the point where I would skip runs. I fueled properly with food, got plenty of sleep but this too did not help. So what would happen is I would have to take ibuprofen before the headache started or else it would get out of control and honestly ruin the rest of my day. I decided to try something else and this was SaltStick Capsules. I took 1 capsule about 30 minutes before I started out and hoped for the best. I ended up getting a headache although it was a bit less severe. Next time I took 1 capsule 30 minutes before, 1 about 45 minutes into my run. I felt a headache coming on later that day but this one obviously less severe so I took 1 more capsule. Headache did not continue. I did not want to post this review until I was sure it was due to SaltStick Caps that were preventing my headaches and I can confirm after a few weeks of headache free runs I have found the key. My formula now, depending on level of effort, humidity and length of run is to take 1 capsule before, 1 during and 1 within 30 minutes of completing a run. As a plus, I also get less muscle soreness and fatigue. If you suffer from headaches as I did please do yourself a favor and try SaltStick Capsules. I do not know how these compare to other electrolyte replacement capsules but I personally do not need to try any other product. Perfect product for me.

Life changing
My daughter has POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) and was suffering from nausea, dizziness, fast heart rate, and super low blood pressure when standing up. She would go ashen pale, and her lips would look blue when suffering from an attack. We tried a high salt diet and supplementing from electrolytes, but she could not ingest enough to keep her blood pressure consistently in the normal range. This product has been a game changer for her. She takes 2 pills, 3x a day, and her color is back, she feels good and is able to study and work again. No more dizziness or nausea! We were so grateful to find something that was buffered to keep it from impacting her stomach. Thank you! I am not usually a "reviewer", but came on the site tonight just to express our gratitude.

but not a good feeling. Now I use them with care and ...
These really work well, but buyer beware...they really work! Disregard the nutrition info and percentages.... if you slam 2 or more of these without being in a legitimate electrolyte deficiency you will feel it! I took two on the way to the gym and they made me feel very strange...hard to explain, but not a good feeling. Now I use them with care and moderation, they work really well with intermittent fasting as a way to keep electrolyte levels while fasting and while doing extreme exercise. My suggestion is start with 1 and wait a while, then take another if doing prolonged (several hour) activity. Don't take these if you have good nutrition, are eating a moderate sale diet to begin with, or aren't exercising.

Perfect for low carb cyclists
Writing a review from the perspective of a keto / LCHF / NSNG cyclist. These things are amazing. I take about 1 per hour, and never have any electrolyte problems. Carry them in a little ziploc baggie in my jersey pocket. No carbs, no weird fillers, this is the electrolyte supplement you need.

Saved me in two races
These saved my legs in two triathlons so far, and I recommend racers keep a couple with them for emergencies in races. I got quad cramps during the run portion of one triathlon. If you've been in this situation, you know that running is impossible at that point, and the only thing you can do is get some electrolytes in your body, hydrate like crazy, walk for a bit, and wait for the cramps to subside. My first experience with these, I took two of these, drank Gatorade Endurance, and it took about 20 minutes before I was on my way again. Cost me dearly in my run time, but at least I was still able to finish. I later learned that a quicker way to treat cramps is to break one of these under your tongue to speed up the absorption. In a recent Ironman race, I had some slight twinges/niggles in my calves that made me stop and walk before they became full cramps. I broke one of these under my tongue (they don't taste the best, pretty much just a raw salt powder), then swallowed another, and made sure to grab extra gatorade at the next aid station. I forced myself to walk for about 6-7 minutes, but the twinges went away and I was then able to continue. Initially I was using only these, taking one per hour. I've since learned to use an endurolyte product to keep my electrolytes more stable during excessive miles, but still keep a couple of these with me as well. In high temperatures, I supplement the endurolytes with one of these pills each hour, and I've yet to experience cramps again. Good product, but if you're an endurance athlete, you already know that!
