Ive used this to paint a motor (red block, black head) and trans in the past and it held up amazingly to heat and oil. I even used it on the firewall and engine bay (white) and it layed on easy and cleaned up with an easy wipe. So I decided to paint the rims on my boat trailer to protect against salt and also to make them look a bit nicer than galvanized steel that was starting to show some wear. Im happy with the outcome. The pic in this review was taken 3hrs after spraying 2 heavy coats (15-20min apart from one another)... I cleaned the grease from a broken hub/bearing, then used a wire wheel on a drill to remove any loose material and rust. Wiped with Isopropyl alcohol followed by laying on paint. I could have taken a little more time to sand and wire wheel it, but it is what it is. No complaints and highly recommend.

I bought to paint my 5.3 LS engine. I used the Rustoleum 500 degree engine primer first and then painted this over it. Nice Chevy orange on my LS engine looks great in my 1968 C10 pickup. I recommend this product for the good quality paint results i achieved.

Purchased this for a craft - making trivets out of tiles. This product provided a clear coating to preserve the painted design on the tile. With a trivet, it is of course necessary for the finish to withstand heat from a hot pot or pan. Indeed it does (I applied 3 coats), and the decorative top of the trivet remained unmarred.

Purchased this paint for some touchups on my Ariens snowblower. I read this was similar and it's much less expensive than the Ariens touch up paint. The match is extremely close (show car close? no, snowblower? absolutely) I sprayed a piece of scrap metal before spraying anything on the snowblower. I purchased 2 cans of this for 1/3rd the price of one can of Ariens paint shipped.

Learned this the hard way many times. I restore Ariens lawnmower and snowblower decks. This Chevy orange matches Ariens orange exactly, and you must dust it (spit coat) first so the next coats have something to hang onto. Wait for all color coats, up to 3, to flash (about 5 or 10 minutes each) and then apply the clearcoat. 2 coats of clear is perfect. This paint flows very well and after a few minutes the topcoat will blend together just be patient. Remember, the hotter and drier the air is the faster it dries! Trust me, if you want to wet sand and fix a run or whatever you must wait a MINIMUM of 6 months in warm temps for it to cure so try hard to get it right the first time. Patience and light coats is the key.

Paint is amazing for wheels. Brake dust doesn't harm finish, prep is key. Light misting coats is also key.

Rust-oleum products are great and I use them whenever I can. However, Amazon quality of services for shipping and competitive pricing has dropped below an acceptable level for me an my family. For the PRIME price increase to $119 annually should have come with improvements but instead, poor product availability, HORRIBLE shipping mis-steps of cancelled orders without ANY notification to Prime Member, missed shipping or delivery dates on a now regular basis, and more, is unacceptable for this long time PRIME member. Amazon needs to get their act together or this family of 6 will spend extra time researching and we will be buying from local businesses. We will be G.O.N.E..... the warning has been issued to Amazon customer Support and here.

I hope this holds up but it looks amazing. Painted a 22r engine block to match a theme build. The outcome was not the exact tone a wanted but it turned out beter then I expected. The picture does not do justice. This looks just like a candy blue. Lots of prep to remove ALL oil grease and varnishes. 2 coats RustO High heat Engine primer 3 coats RustO High heat Aluminum 3 coats Dupli-C MetalCast Blue 3 coats RustO High heat clear

I bought this product to conceal several large chips to my Weber kettle BBQ top after it landed on my patio when I dropped it . The color did not quite match but was close enough to not stand out too much , the paint went on well and I did not need a second coat . The BBQ has been over 500 degrees and no problem to the paint . Next summer I think I will spray the whole top and it will look great again . Good product that stands up to so much heat and looks great .

Used this to match the green color on my 2010 Kawasaki zx-10r. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good if you're trying to fix and touch up the paint on fairings. I've had no issues with my fairings that heat up due to being near the exhaust. I found for best result use multiple light coats of paint. Build up the layers, 1 layer per 15-20ish minutes, until you get the look you want and then let it dry over for 24 hours.
