I made two of these cakes for my son and daughter's birthday party. Was able to decorate each one with their favorite colors. It came with instructions and was fairly easy to decorate. It specifies which decorator tips you will need so you can get it all together before you begin.

Awesome cake pan

Our phenomenal family friend made our daughter a unicorn cake with this pan... the cake was absolutely amazing!! She said the pan was easy to use!! This is our 2nd Wilton pan and I'm sure not the last!! My daughter was super excited to see her unicorn birthday cake!!

Great cake!

This cake pan was easy to bake with as long as you grease it properly. The cake was easy to decorate with a piping bag or tube using a star pattern tip. I made this with and put it on top of a sheet cake so I could make the background like grass and flowers. Super cute for a birthday party with a horse theme!

Perfect pony!

I just made this pony cake for my 5 year old granddaughter's birthday party. I greased the pan with Crisco making sure to get every part and then floured the pan. I used chocolate fudge cake mix and it came out perfectly! I let the cake cool overnight in the refrigerator. The pan comes with a picture of the pony and directions for each part to decorate. There is a lot of intricate detail, but if you go ahead and make all the frosting at one time, I used a buttercream, fill each bag with the color desired it is easier. Hint: I used all butter in my frosting instead of the 1/2 cup of shortening and it was hard to tint the dark brown color so I used the recipe on the back of the Hershey Cocoa box for the mane. My daughter gave me a great compliment, she said it looked better than the one on the instructions! Pat on the back for Mimi!! Another tip: Don't ever put this or any other Wilton pan in the dishwasher, it will ruin it. Always hand wash.

A lifesaver

I needed a horse cake for my horse-addicted daughter and this was great. My cake decorating experience involves slathering on canned frosting with a butter knife until the cake is vaguely detectable inside some frosting, and I was worried. Luckily, the 2-page insert in this pan comes with a list of the tips you need and step-by-step instructions telling you which part to frost next, which tip to use, and even little things like "Use cornstarch to smooth out the bridle". Brilliant! My cake came out looking just as great as the picture, my daughter was ecstatic, and I get to be a superhero.

I LOVE this pan, I make cakes for a hobby I find it very relaxing.. I have made several for my friends, and our daughter created a Denver Bronco cake for the super bowl. Get this pan before they quit making them

Cute and very easy!

Created a beautiful cake for my 8 year old granddaughter's horse themed birthday party. I have been decorating cakes for many years and think this one is very easy and fun to make and would be a good one for a beginner to start with. For a large party, bake a big base cake (for example a 14 inch round or a double sheet) and put the pony head on top. We did ours a little girlie in brown tones with a chocolate mane but made the bridle green and added some pink and purple flowers above the ear. Could also make it a white horse with yellow hair and purple or pink bridle for a girl.
