I am retired and am finally learning how to cook beyond the basics. One of my goals is to learn how to decorate cakes. I started a thread here on Amazon and asked what kind of cake pan should a beginner get. I received a few suggestions then decided on the Wilton Perfect Performance Round Cake Pan, 8 by 3-inch. I bought two of them. I also purchased a pack of 24 Regency 8 inch Parchment Paper Liners for Round Cake Pans. This first time was nothing fancy. I just wanted to get some kind of baked cake under my belt, no pun intended. I used a box mix and added the recommended water, oil, and eggs. I don't have a mixer as such, so I used a tall slim electric mixer that can fit into a tall glass. I used the parchment paper in the bottom of each pan, but I didn't add any kind of agent to keep the cake from sticking. I followed the directions on the box. The cake turned out perfect. So soft and tasted so good. I must say the cake could not have turned out better. The cakes came right out of the pans when I put a cooling rack over the pan, turned the pan upside down and the cakes each fell on the cooling racks. No breaking up, no crumbs, no sticking at all. The only thing I had to do is to gently pull of the parchment paper. This did not damage the cake in anyway. Everything really did turn out perfect. I used store bought icing because of this being my first time. Before I used them I hand washed them in hot soapy water. After I baked the cake I looked around the Internet for experiences using a dishwasher for these pans. I found a few places that said they were dishwasher safe and nowhere that said not to use a dishwasher to clean them. So I put them in my regular load and washed them on a regular cycle on the top rack. They came out just a new as when I bought them. These cake pans made my first time baking a cake a pleasant one I will remember. I'm encouraged to move forward and try making my own mix as my granny did when she made her cakes. I don't know what else to add in saying just how satisfied I am with these pans. If I have left anything out, please ask me and I will give you the best answer I can. These are the cake pans to buy.

Works great in a breville mini toaster oven. Saved my toaster oven. Great Breville toaster but there standard tray comes with a black non stick coating that burns absolutely everything in contact with it and leaves the top raw. Plus the coating that is on the tray lasts all of a second and scratches off if you look at it wrong. This tray is deeper than I would have liked at 2 inches but it fits in the oven and things don't cook erratically now so I call that a win.

Very happy with the pan. I was able to cook the cake on 320 and it cooked evenly and not too dry on the edge. If you want the cake to come out level you may want to buy additional gadgets. But you can cook the cake evenly with no dry edges with out gadgets it just won't be level. Also the pan required three boxes of cake mix and lots of frosting be prepared.

This pan arrived yesterday and I used it last night for the purpose for which I wanted it - to make flan. I went to a potluck event today at noon and took the flan, still in the pan, and I released it onto the serving platter with no problems. It came out looking absolutely perfect! I didn't need to run a knife around the edge because I had sprayed just the side with cooking spray. The flan was already loose and came out with no broken pieces as so often happens when it's made in a different kind of pan and must be cut loose. I'm very pleased with the quality of this pan. I know I'll never need another.

I use it on top of an open-fire propane space heater to produce moisture in my work shop. My skin, HATES dry environments. With the 3" depth, it holds plenty of water, reducing the need to refill, and this pan withstands the heat. I use a 8"x2", round duct cap between the heater and the cake pan to produce the required level of heat, without the water boiling (a little trial and error was involved, with four 3/8" holes drilled into the side of the 8" duct cap, to create the desired effect). The broad surface area provided by the wide diameter, permits maximum evaporation/humidity production. Stamped from quality Aluminum, the bottom corner has a nice radius, for easy cleaning. The top edge, has a rolled-over treatment for strength and a very nicely fished edge. After weeks of 4-hours-per-night use on top of my raw-burner propane heater (compare to a gas stove on medium-low heat) I've noticed zero warp or deformity. Positively perfect for its un-intended purpose. Adapt, improvise, overcome. My skin, loves it. I guess it would make a nice cake, too.

The very first time I use these Cake pans were absolutely disastrous. I’ll tell you why and I’m sure you can relate too. I am accustomed to using Non stick cake pans wherein once the cake is done, it slides out the pan like a breeze with zero efforts. And so, while using Aluminum cake pans first time ever, I was expecting similar results however to my horror, only half the cake came out and the rest you can imagine. Thats when I realized the major difference between the commercial quality Aluminum Pans and the Nonstick cake pans. Make sure you dont make the same mistake and know the difference between the two. You must use a pan release while using Aluminum Cake Pans like this one. Once I know the correct usage, I’m a Pro now and have no issues whatsoever.

The product itself is definitely worthy of 5 stars, but mine arrived with some pretty deep scratches all over it - no worries, because when I reported it Amazon took care of things. The reason you want to buy this pan instead of the 8x2 round pan is that your cakes will rise more evenly because the high sides shield the batter from the initial wave of heat. This means you can shave off less cake when you're stacking layers and get a more professional looking finish. Highly recommend.

Ok, so I may not be hard to please considering I’ve made like 3 cakes in my life, none of which from scratch, but this pan worked flawlessly. No stick, easy release, and even bake time with a full box of cake despite the box directions stating to separate in half for this diameter.

I used this pan I purchased to make a graduation cake. The cake came out perfect! I also used the wiltons 6” round cake for the top layer. Wilton’s has become my favorite brand for bakeware.

This was a great cake pan. My cake didn't stick to it at all and it was extremely easy to clean. Great even cooking as well.
