Portable and just works
I purchased a used car with an awful stain and smell in the drivers seat. It's like multiple products were applied to mask it but ended up making it worse. This machine was able to extract the unknown from the seat fabric and cushion. The result was brand new looking fabric and the odor eliminated. I will be using this on other cars and spot treating house carpet. Great product!

Can't Live Without
I love this little machine. I just got a new one to replace an older version that eventually died after many years of heavy, hard use. I can't live without it. I use it to clean up all sorts of pet mess, food and drink stains, mud and dirt, etc. It cleans carpeting, rugs, couches, ottomans, chairs. It seems to me that it is extraordinarily effective at pulling up all sorts of stains, most especially freshly made stains.

Great cleaning! Easy to use.
I ordered this cleaner when a stomach virus hit our house this spring. I am so glad I did! This little machine cleaned vomit out of my living room carpet. It was bad. Couch and carpet had been hit with the stomach bug. I had done the best I could cleaning it up, but the smell just would go away. I ordered this machine right away. I was appalled at how much "stuff" was still in the carpet. I used one full tank of cleaning had to empty and clean again. The first tank full was completely disgusting. The second tank full was much better. I did a third run of plain water to rinse the carpet and it came back almost clear. Yes, there was some effort involved in cleaning, but really it was minimal. I am very pleased in the way this machine pulled all that junk out of the carpet. There is no stain and no smell, and I believe everything came out. Emptying the dirty tank was easy, and rinsing everything clean was no problem. I left it all open to air dry for a day or so before putting it away. Easy. If you need a machine for small area cleaning like spots or spills, something easy to use, this is the one for you.

It is a great little cleaner
I bought this carpet cleaner several months ago. My daughter used it first and said it really worked very well in the house they had just purchased and wanted to clean spots and pet odors. After she used it I brought it to our house and just used it on the stairway to our lower level. The carpet was new a year ago and had never been cleaned in any way. It was not spotted nor did it have spots from pets, as we have none. But it had dark spots just from everyday wear and tear from indoor shoes. It cleaned off the dirt cleaner than a whistle and the carpet looks brand new! It is a great little cleaner!!! I used the Bissell Spot and Stain cleaner that came with it. I am very pleased! The only thing that is somewhat annoying is that the attachment "cradles" are on the side of the unit making it difficult to set the cleaner square on each step as you go up/down the stairway and causes one to set it at an angle on each step. But all in all, I really like the cleaning it does and it is quite handy to use. I am a petite gal and cannot lug big carpet cleaners up and down, and the weight and size of this unit is quite easy for me to use!

The same but not quite.
I ordered this item and it arrived quickly. While the description is basically the same, the name and appearance is not. The one I received is Model 1425 R, Bissell Auto Care Proheat. The color is black, not green. Personally, I prefer the appearance of the one I received. Doing a search on this model number kept pulling up the item pictured. I called Bissell and they said that, although the name/appearance/model # isn't quite the same, they are basically the same machine. I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Just wanted to note that if you're OCD, as I am, don't be alarmed if the item and photo don't quite match.

Saved my carpets AND my puppy!`
After using it once, I regret. not getting it much sooner. My hubby and I are having a love affair with this thing and we even fought over who would get to use it with the next cleaning project! I will try to keep this short. My adventures with our new naughty puppy have been challenging. Somehow I was smart enough to buy this before he came into our home...When the first accident happened (7pm of course on a weeknight) I took it out of the box and was in business 10 minutes later. Impressive. 1) Naughty puppy enthusiastically ran up to my husband, jumped up and knocked a FULL plate of cheesy, saucy pasta onto the rug. As I was leaning in to prevent that dish from falling, my own slid off my tray table (yes, we were eating in front of the tv that night) and also landed on the rug. We pitifully watched our delicious meatballs roll away...The area rug was a 25 years old oriental rug, medium salmon in color with beige. Let me say I have NEVER seen that much pasta on a rug outside of a movie. It was depressing.....I used the pre-treating suggestion (left solution on the rug for 5 minutes). Folks, no staining when it was all over! I did have some tiny bits of cheese that was stuck in the nozzle and due to its design the cheese couldn't be rinsed out or removed with any tool (I called customer service to confirm). That was the only thing but now that I've used this a few times, it isn't as big a deal as I thought. 2) Naughty puppy was sick (ploppy poop, very gross even for a vet hospital worker such as myself) on yet another area rug - a woven material, no pile this time. Unusual design and colors. I wanted to cry. All I can say folks is that had I not had this cleaner, the rug would have been in the trash that night...After picking up the poop as best I could there was still much left on the carpet - it was in several places and I had no confidence it could be cleaned fully but IT WORKED!!!! The next day I gathered up my nerve and got down and smelled 1 particular area that had the brunt of the mess and all I smelled was carpet cleaner....SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! Notes - No discoloration has resulted on either carpet as a result of the cleaning...Due to the fact that I had a biological mess as well as a food related one, I did order an additional brush head to use for different types of messes - yes, I cleaned the brush head thoroughly but I still feel better about having 2 to work with....I bought this cleaner as a result of asking the maintenance person at the gym what he had been using to keep the carpet there so pristine for over 10 years. Not a stain to be seen anywhere, incredibly. He told me this is what he had been using and that he had no complaints with it. His only criticism was the size of the clean water tank but he said the machine worked so well he didn't care - and now that I've used it, I don't feel its a big deal anyway.

Works great
This little gem is the best pet stain remover I've ever used. It has removed doggy "accidents" with amazing results (sound like a commercial now, don't I). Our machine is over two years old and has seen more than its fair share of use (large dog with a sensitive stomach) and is still going strong. There is one small problem and that is with the tiny sprayer built into each attachment. They tend to clog up easily, probably do to the hard water we have. A good soak in a lime remover usually solves the problem though. However, when working they are a must. I highly recommend this for any one with pets or messy people! It is NOT for a large area. Spot cleaning only.

Works!
So far so good.

Love it!
I had read reviews for it a few years ago, and the negative reviews convinced me that it wasn't worth buying. Why buy something when I could clean better without it? I got it as a christmas present a few months ago. It has some issues, but I'm still giving it five stars because I still love it! SUCTION: It is true that the Little Green is not as powerful as a regular steam cleaner. But the suction is still pretty good. If you hold incorrectly, the opening isn't pressed against the carpeting and so it won't suck anything up. You have to make sure that the opening is sealed against the carpet. Once you know what angle to hold it at, it is easy to get it right. If you are confused about this, try it out on your palm. SPRAYS EVERYWHERE: It sprays the water in a wide "fan". If it sprayed a tiny stream it would take forever to spray something, so the wide spray is good. If you were using a spray bottle, you'd have the same "problem". If you really don't want to hit something - move it or cover it. LEAKS: If you leave it sitting around full of water, it will leak. Mine has never leaked while I was cleaning, but one time I left it on the kitchen floor overnight and it left a pretty big puddle (of cleaning solution, not the dirty water). When you are done using it, you have to rinse it out and put it away. If I have a lot of cleaning fluid leftover, I put the tank in my mop bucket (opening facing up). DIRTY WATER TANK HAS GUNK AND HAIR IN IT: Don't you ever vacuum?!(kidding). Pour hot water in there (bathtub faucet works great), slosh it around, and dump it out. Do that a few times. Don't leave dirty water in it, or it will smell. It's dirty water. YES IT HAS ISSUES, BUT, IT IS WORTH HAVING AROUND: When I think of all the times I had to clean diaper blowout, spit-up, cat puke, and spilled drinks out of the carpet by soaking it up with rags, spraying it, waiting ten minutes and then "dabbing" (over and over and over again, with all the windows open) - I just have to think of something else and try to stay positive. If anything happened to my Little Green I would buy a new one in a heartbeat. I have been using it for months, but today was the day I knew I had to write a review for the Little Green. My toddler took off his diaper, "had an accident" and ground it into the creamy white carpet until there was over a square foot of... well, it was pretty horrible. If I had to spray and "dab" that clean, I'd still be working on it next week. But with the Little Green it took about 20 minutes - and that includes the extra time it took to clean out the Little Green (because: ewww).

wow, this thing *works*
Let's start off by saying I have 3 dogs. Yup, three: small, medium and large. Medium is a little older, and very lazy, and will occasionally have a carpet accident (why you can't just pee on the hardwood or tile sections of the house that are easier to clean is beyond me; we need to have a talk). Small, who was fostered in a home that used pee pads that just encouraged him to pee in the house and whom I have been trying to break of this habit ever since, will mark if he sees that Medium has peed. Good times. So, I have one section of one room in particular that depresses my soul and needs to be cleaned every couple of months with a rented steam cleaner. In the meantime, it's carpet cleaner, paper towels and white rags galore. Ugh. I should be buying stock in paper towel companies. And rug cleaner. I had been thinking about getting one of these for a while, so when I got a gift card from work, I decided to use it on this. Because I'm a nerd. The day it arrived, although I was really excited to use it, I still kind of wish that 2 certain someones could have waited to have accidents until I could at least get it out of the box and read the quick start guide, but alas, that is not my life. So I've been using this on small accidents for a month or so, and pretty darn impressed. Very quick to "set up" each time (I leave the water and cleaning solution in), just need to wait for the warm up, then spray, leave for about 5 minutes, then suck it all up. Love. My kids are even into it, I may even be able to get them cleaning carpets! All I do afterwards is remove the dirty tank and whichever attachments I have used, rinse and dry. Ready to go for the next time. But wait, there's more. I'm actually glad I didn't get the email to review this until after The Great Worm Incident, because I'm not sure if I know how to go back and edit a review, and this would have been worthy of doing so. So what about Large, you may be wondering? Like, why bother mentioning that you have 3 dogs if you never even have to clean up after the one capable of making the biggest messes? So, Large is our latest rescue, and although she was generally healthy, surprisingly, given her situation, she did need to be dewormed. NBD, we've done this a million times. She was scheduled for her last round of pills the same week she got sick. Really sick. Stop reading if general grossness and bodily fluids from all orifices disgusts you. But if you're reading carpet steamer reviews, you likely have some of the same issues, amiright? She was throwing up, diarrhea, and finally, blood in both of those. Uncontrollable. She got the wall to wall carpeting, plus 2 area rugs (plus wood and tile, but tg I have a steam mop for those areas), all in multiple areas. And you can probably guess by the 5 star review, but this thing got them all out. First try. No marks, residue, nothing. It's like it never happened (except to my retinas, which can never unsee such things). I will also mention that most of this cleanup happened at approximately 4am, when no one is in their right mind, and even given that and my skills at that hour, It. Is. All. Gone. (sidenote: Large ended up in the hospital with so many different kind of worms, all of the worms, but is fine now. And we love her, so we were not mad about the carpet steamer test). So, in a nutshell, I would recommend this steamer. A thousand times yes. I will also mention that I bought the specific Pet Stain and Odor Bissell formula (the steamer comes with one small bottle of standard cleaner), and will now give that the same 5 star review. Update 2016: so, I've been using this cleaner for about a year now, and still love it. I did read in some other reviews about a smell and I didn't have that problem. Until I did. Here's what I discovered: when you take out the dirty tank to empty and clean it, there is sometimes some residue of whatever you have cleaned up in that section underneath. So if it's something that has the potential to smell (ahem, dog pee), it's absolutely going to. And the next time you turn on the machine to heat up and use it, it's going to smell like hot pee in the room you're in. Lovely. Here's my solution: once I take off the hose attachment head and the dirty tank to clean them, I take the physical machine itself, put it up on the counter next to my kitchen sink, run the hose across the sink and down the drain (because gravity), then use my kitchen sink sprayer and spray it directly into that hole (where the dirty stuff comes out of the hose and goes into the tank) and reverse clean the entire hose. Since the hose is running into the drain, I just let clean water run through the hose for about a minute, until all reside of whatever you just cleaned has been rinsed out. Problem solved. On a sidenote, I added a special shelf to my laundry room to store/display my Little Green, so it can be on a literal pedestal and brag about how awesome it is and lord it over the other cleaning appliances.
