A few install hints below, very pleased with this.

The instructions are not well written, so be prepared for that. Took two men about 2.5 hours to pull the stock bumper off and install this on my 2014 JKU. Overall easy install - especially if you have the tow package already and don't have to drill holes. If you don't have a tow hitch already and want to know if you need drilling, look at the frame dead center behind the back bumper - if it already has 4 holes there you're good. Holds my 35" tire firmly and the bumper is rock solid. Very happy with it. With the back panel removed from it, the stock rear light pops right into the piece provided, so no need to buy extra hardware for that. We ran the wiring along the framework and under the body and then drilled a small hole below the passenger tail light and spliced into the wires there, worked fine. Don't forget to fill the hole you drilled with spray foam to keep water and rust away. The stock bumper you can literally lift with just one hand, and this one is very heavy, so we went ahead and put on some new high quality rear shocks while we were at it. You may want to consider doing the same as I'm happy I did.

Nice Solid Heavy Duty Bumper

Received this item ahead of schedule and was able to install it in about 2-3 hours. Working at a slow beer guzzling pace. :) I did this job alone and would definitely recommend having a buddy help the tire carrier isn't too heavy but the bumper is a monster. Took me more time to get the OEM stock bumper off than it took to get this on. Pros: - This bumper is heavy duty - Did I mention its heavy?? - Great powder coating - Welded inside and out for D-Rings Cons: - Fitment was a bit of an issue only for one of the bolt holes. I was able to get 3 of the 4 bolts to feed without issue. However, the alignment of one of the bolt holes was not lining up right. So I have two choices .. to unbolt the entire bumper and ream the hole. Or get a slightly smaller both to be able to feed. I went with option #2 .. perhaps later, I may pull it back off but being just me for this install. I didn't want to have to muscle the bumper up and down again. - You have to add an extra electrical loop in order to attach the third brake light. Now the hardware that is supplied is sufficient to re-attach the existing OEM light but the installation kit does not supply additional wiring. That's on you .... - Instructions are just flat useless ... go to YouTube .. there are several helpful videos there that will assist NOTE: This one is a Pro and a Con - The Zerk Fitting on Tire Carrier was busted off when I opened the box. However, Smittybilt in their wisdom, must have this occur enough that they shipped the bumper kit with an extra Zerk Fitting. I fortunately have the proper tool to remove the Zerk stem from inside the Tire Carrier Cylinder and installed the spare Zerk Fitting. Problem solved. All-in-All I think this is a great addition to my 2008 JKUR. This was the last real piece of body armor I have been wanting for some time. Love the look and it is very tough as well. Take scraps and bruised very well off road. As a side note, although I am running after market suspension, I would imagine if you are running on OEM suspension ... you would probably need to upgrade for the added weight.

Well built

Looks great on my wife’s Jeep. Just be sure to have a torque wrench available if you’re installing yourself. Overall pretty easy to install. I had 2 neighbors get the bumper in place while I put the center bolts in.

Like the fit and the function. Well built.

I am very happy with the rear bumper. The instructions were ok. Took about 1 1/2 with a friend to install. That was taking our time. No problems with how it fit on my JKU.

Best bang for your buck!

Looks great and the quality is great! The bumper weighs over 100 pounds so you need a buddy unless you’re the hulk. Total time to take off the old bumper and put the new on probably 3 hours. But yeah I love the look!

Needs better install instructions!

Arrived as promised, no complaints about Amazon, the manufacturer well that a different story. Very confusing instructions, finally got it installed with a lot of help from you tube.

Awesome Bumper

Just received and installed this bumper for my Jeep JK. Install went smoothly thanks to using a motorcycle/atv jack that I saw another reviewer mention. It made installation a breeze and a one man job. My back is slightly sore so be careful and dont be too ambitious. Fit and finish was great for the bumper and carrier. The hardware provided was of good quality. The nut plate inserts in the frame were alittle wonky to get lined up. However after tightening all 8 bolts mounting the bumper to the Jeep. Its absolutely solid and Ill be towing with confidence using this bumper. 13/10 would buy again.

Parts were missing but smittybilt shipped the replacement overnight. Could not ask for better service.
