Just the extra amount of adhesive need to help hold sensor in place.
This was recommended to us by our doctor. The diabetes sensor my wife was using would often come loose. She lost two of them because their adhesive would not hold for the entire 10-day period. First, clean the area of the arm where the diabetes sensor will go with alcohol wipes. Let the alcohol dry, then wipe the area with the skin-tac wipes. Then let the area dry completely again. The fluid left behind by the skin-tac wipes forms a sticky area. The diabetic sensor is then applied to this area. This bit of extra adhesive keeps the sensor on for the entire 10-day period. When you get ready to remove/change the sensor, wipe the edges of the adhesive with baby oil or plain mineral oil to soften the adhesive. This makes for an easy removal.

Extremely effective, preps skin and provides tacky surface for tape adhesion
I have tried several adhesive barrier wipes for wearing tapes/dressings for continuous glucose monitors and pump infusion sets over the past 20 years. I have sensitive skin, and need the barrier wipes to not only protect/prep my skin, but provide a sticky surface to adhere the adhesive tapes to for up to 7 days. After using some mild tacky skin preps in the past and having them not secure my tapes down, my nurse recommended Skin-Tac. I was blown away and wondered where it had been all my life. Not only does it prep the skin but it provides a very tacky surface to affix dressings and tapes to (it’s extremely sticky). Using Skin-Tac reduces the amount of tape/dressing I use, and the time I spend securing my CGM and infusion site tape. My only recommendation when using this is, use a solvent specifically for removing skin adhesives - such as alcohol pads, Uni-Solve etc., because taking off tape once it’s been adhered with Skin-Tac can easily take off some skin.

When you need this, it works
I use a continuous glucose monitor. The adhesive that comes with the sensor is more than adequate for everyday use, but swimming and sweat weaken the adhesive. I use this to strengthen the adhesive for the sensor and the Tegaderm cover I place on top of it. I have not had problems and I am grateful that my physician recommended this. It really does work.

A must have for insulin pump users
This recommendation is from a 48 year Type I diabetic and a 25 year insulin pump user. Any pump user who sweats knows the issues of keeping those expensive infusion sets attached***. This adhesive provides a vastly superior bond to

Must for infusion/sensor sets
Simply the best solution for humid environments. I used to wear the OmniPod, now I use regular infusion sets and sometimes my Dexcom. I live in TX and am overweight, so in the summer I get the awesome high humidty + me sweating a lot. Before using this my pods would fall off after 1 or 2 days. Since using this, the only time I've lost a pod, sensor, or infusion set is if I get a little too rambunctious and rip it off. I swab with this, let it get tacky, put on some opsite flexfix, swab that down and let it get sticky, then put in whatever device I'm using to get cyborged up. I have had no adverse skin reactions to this and it cleans up with an alcohol wipe.

I have been using these for years as a Type 1 diabetic
I use these mainly to keep on CMG applications. Since I am part of the #wearenotwaiting community, I have also kept those CGM sensors on for 10, 14, and even 21 days, and Skin-Tac below, along with IV prep barriers above, has helped me keep a solid connection and keep the sensor from pistoning before the 7 day mark. I have also used this for pump sites when I knew I was going to be harder on a site than normal. I don't think it has ever failed me. I usually use less than 1 wipe a week, so a box of 50 is essentially a year's supply for me, which is great at this price point whether it saves you a site being pulled off, a CGM sensor pistoning or failing, or whatever else you are needing held on.

Keeps CGMs AND tape secure!
These swabs are kind of weird and very tacky, but they are meant to be that way. My husband uses them before he puts his Simpatch tape over his Medtronic Guardian 3 sensor and transmitter. One thing to note: the sensor plastic applicator sticks to the skin after it's released and when you try to lift it off, you literally have to carefully peel the applicator edges away from the skin. However, the sensor sticks even tighter, so just be aware that this will happen and don't try to yank it off. Before using Skin Tac, my husband had all sorts of issues with Medtronic's tape peeling away after getting wet from sweat, showers or swimming. He hasn't tried Skin Tac under Medtronic tape, but if you look at the photos, you can see how much more secure the CGM is (after he switched from Medtronic tape to Simpatch). I believe Skin Tac is the key. It doesn't leave residue and any excess comes off easily in the shower or with an alcohol wipe. He also wipes any excess off the sensor's plastic applicator because of the fact it sticks to the skin slightly. He will be using it from now on!

Works great with active 13 year old CGM
Love these!! My year old type 1 diabetic nephew lives with us. His CGM sensor kept falling off days before it should have- even with prepping the skin with alcohol wipes. Rubbing around it after applying. I bought these and he refused to use them—said he wouldn’t like it. After they kept falling add very quickly one month I kindly said he didn’t have a choice to use it or not. He used it and his dexcom stayed in for the full 10 days!! They have been great. And he even asks for one of the wipes if my husband or I don’t get one out for a site change. He doesn’t wipe his skin crazy with it. Probably doesn’t get it everywhere he puts the sticker, but we haven’t had a sensor fall out more than 1 day before it expires since we’ve been using them!!

Recommended for TENS unit users
I've been a TENS user sibce 2005, but never had an issue with electrode gel until I started using a Quell unit. I developed a serious rash, which turned into me gouging my leg in the middle of the night. I can't use the unit on broken skin, so I had to switch legs, which didn't give enough pain relief. (I have RSD in my left leg due to a severed peroneal nerve. The unit doesn't work as well due to that issue, which is why I keep it on my right leg.) I wasn't getting any help from the Quell people or their forum, but a basic Google search led me to these wipes. They help a lot, but not completely. I've had to add the thin film to my leg so that I wouldn't get such a negative reaction. Overall, these are very helpful and if I didn't need the Quell so much, they would be perfect on their own.
