This annoying buggar is popular in my home. Kids seem to really love this. It works well. On high my neighbors can hear it. The siren is the queen of annoying. Its a bit heavy once those giant batteries are in and you need 2 hands. I can't figure out what the strap is for. It's too short to hang on a person and just long enough to get tangled up in the cupboard door when it's put away. Still, if you need to be loud and or annoying this is a good buy.

So....apparently while I was heavily medicated after a surgery, I went on a little shopping spree. This box shows up on my doorstep from Amazon. In it were ten pairs of wool socks and this bullhorn. I can kinda see why I ordered it. After the surgery, I couldn't speak above a whisper....and I was getting frustrated trying to get my kids' attention. I guess I thought this would come in handy. AND IT SO TOTALLY HAS!!! I love this thing! In the mornings, I blare the siren thing and it scares the snot out of the kids. You should see them jump under their covers. Then I switch it to talk, and start my lifeguard voice, "Ok, everybody up." My kids kinda hate me now but it's so worth it.

I bought three of these magaphones to use on field trips with my graduate students to noisy factories. I figured that for the price, I couldn't go wrong. They work amazingly well at projecting your voice directly in front of you without catching background noise. For the megaphone to work properly, you need to get your mouth pretty close to it. Makes sense that the amplifier would be focused to cut out background noise. Two of the places we went on field trips to decided to order their own after seeing how well they worked. The only thing that is a little odd is that a person standing next to you won't hear the amplification, just the people in front of you. Great at doing what they were designed to do!

This worked out well at our cookout. We had up words of 100 people there many of them being kids. One thing you need to remember when using it is you have to put your mouth right up to it when speaking. Even a couple of inches away you start losing the effectiveness of the volume. But when you put your mouth right up to it works perfectly. I would for sure by it again.

You are not going to believe what I use this for. I live in a mobile home park and nearly once a year I have a possum to take up residence under my house. I have paid exterminators between three hundred and four hundred dollars each time to get rid of them over the years. This last one really set up a stink right under my bedroom. I could always tell when he/she was there because it smelled so bad. I finally used my head and took a hint from "Riddex" which plugs into the wall to get rid of mice, rats, and roaches. It repells them by making a nuisance of itself. It repeatedly blinks for a while indicating that it is sending a repetitive "sound" over the wires in a pattern... and then it pauses. The pause gives much needed relief... but then it does it all over again. That is the annoyance. So I set this Megaphone on the police alarm and placed it face down on my floor vents and did the same thing. I would turn it on and off, on and off, then pause, and do it again. I had to do it for about five minutes every day for about four or five days, but it made the possum finally leave and it has not come back. Now my megaphone sits in silence... just waiting for the next one to show up. This has been the cheapest, safest, and fastest way to get rid of a possum that I have ever seen. It does not harm the critter, but it gets it out from under my house. Oddly enough my neighbor called and wanted to know if I had gotten rid of my possum, because now he had one. I told him what I had done, and I hope he got rid of his, too. He has not said.

this thing works fabulously for waking up children! ;) i was also able to call the "troops" home who were out exploring the creek, several acres away without a problem at all. they heard it loud and clear. i have high hopes that it will be very effective for outside games during VBS this summer! the volume control is nifty and very much appreciated. however, the music/speak option is really only a music option. you cannot be heard talking over the music. i do not plan on using that feature much, so it's a non-issue, but i felt it was worth mentioning so one knows what to expect.

This thing is fantastic! I bought it to yell insults at my congressman’s headquarters as I drive by on the freeway twice a day during my commute, he’s a worthless, corporate-owned jerk and it makes me happy to remind him of it on a daily basis! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This is going to sound so silly, but I use this in my house as well as to call the kids home from playing outside. I hate yelling and sometimes my kids and their friends can't hear me calling for them in my own house. It also works great for calling the kids home when they are playing up the street, too. I don't have to yell and they can hear me clearly. When I really need to get their attention, I will use the siren feature for two seconds. None of us are a fan of the siren sound, but it works!

Got this little gem to call my cat out of the wilderness; I'll let you know how it works most importantly if he can hear it. I think he will. My friend said she can hear it easily several blocks away. Why I'm writing now is I'm so impressed with the really LOUD siren, a fantastic alarm if you have a home invasion. You could just put it on full volume and throw it out a window and everyone within a qtr mile even more would know you're in trouble. Ill feel more secure just having it in the house.

I purchased 2 of these very inexpensive Bull Horns. Found the price on Amazon to be great so I placed my order for 2 Units. They both arrived quickly with Amazon Prime. I was impressed by the feel of the Items since they was so cheap. But after installing the Batteries I must say I was impressed by how loud the Things are. As for the Battery installation they fit in the Device easily and secure. People who said the Latch and Door are flimsy I didn't find any truth to that at all. I even registered both Items for warranty with Pyle online.
