One exceptional classical guitar
This is a beautiful guitar, both to look at, to listen to and to play. You will not be disappointed.

Great spruce guitar
This is a great guitar for the price. The spruce top gives it a darker tone than the cedar top.

Very Impressive!
First of all, I should state for the record that I am a professional classical guitarist. For the past 15 years I have owned and played guitars by the late master luthier Thomas Humphrey almost exclusively (I concurrently owned a beautiful instrument by notable English builder Christopher Dean for about two years) all of which are near the $10,000 price range. I mention this only to establish the frame of reference by which I am reviewing the Cordoba C7. I ordered the Cordoba C7 as a teaching guitar and I received it in record time (about 2 days from ordering). Aesthetically, the guitar is beautiful. The European Spruce top and indian rosewood (laminated) back and sides are really gorgeous for a $500 guitar. What I find most impressive is the sound quality and volume of the C7. The sound is deep, rich, "wet" and suprisingly full and round. This guitar can be pushed pretty hard and played fairly loud without breaking up, although the volume does seem to peak at a certain point compared to true concert guitars (again, it's only $500, what do you want?). The playability is outstanding and action very easy no matter what the string tension. I'm not sure how the folks at Cordoba do it, but they have managed to design and build a very impressive, REALLY good advanced student guitar (or entry level concert-quality guitar?) with fine materials for an unbelievable price. I want to be careful not to over-state my praise for this guitar, but I have played guitars that sell for $1500-$2000 that do not sound this good. All of my comments and praise should be taken in the context of the price of this guitar. If you are looking for an amazing concert instrument to travel the world and record your Grammy award-winning CD, then this is probably not your guitar (although I would play a concert on this guitar if I had to). If you are looking for a great sounding and playing guitar as a "beater", travel or teaching instrument for an unbelievable price, you won't be disappointed here. P.S. The case is a gig bag and not really review-worthy. It's solidly made with thick durable fabric, but it's still a gig bag. Overall, a really good guitar/bag package for a great price.

Very nice -- great sound -- great value
Bright beautiful sound - plays like a much more expensive guitar.

I love this guitar
I love this guitar. I had a C5 for a few days and it sounded very good, but the C7 sounds significantly better. Also the spruce sounds to me better than cedar, but this is personal preference. In general, the quality of all the details is great, especially at this price point. Excellent guitar.

beautiful instrument with great sound
I have owned two inexpensive guitars over the years after taking guitar lessons in Spain 40 years ago. I am not a professional musician. I'm just an ordinary guy who likes to play music on guitar for my own enjoyment. I've always wanted to own a "quality" guitar. I was not interested in spending thousands of dollars on one a professional musician might own, but I wanted a nice guitar. After a lengthy search and a lot of consideration I decided to buy the Cordoba C7 classical guitar. I'm glad I did. The guitar is shipped inside the included gig bag and packed in a box with newsprint to keep it from bouncing around in the box. I was surprised it was not packed in protective Styrofoam, but the gig bag is much more rigid and sturdier than I expected and provides a lot of protection for the guitar. There was no shipping damage whatsoever. The gig bag is well-padded and firm. There is a thick padded piece inside to support the neck of the guitar. The outside of the bag has a zippered pocket to hold accessories. The bag has both a carry handle and straps so it can be worn like a backpack. The guitar itself is absolutely beautiful. Much criticism has been made about it being made in China, but the manufacture of this guitar is very good, and I could find no flaws in the fit or finish of the instrument. The detailed decoration on the tuning knob hardware really reflects some nice workmanship. The guitar arrived pre-strung, although it required some tuning. Once tuned, though, the tone was magnificent. There was not a buzz to be heard. The guitar is very lightweight and weighs much less than my older, lower cost guitars. I'm very happy with this purchase. If you want a good quality guitar with great sound and an affordable price, the Cordoba C7 is well worth consideration. The price has been dropping on this instrument. I bought it when the price dropped to $449, and I now see Amazon is selling it for $100 less. Even though I paid $100 more for it the guitar is still worth the price.

It sounds really great according to my instructor
Guitar arrived fast and is very high quality. It sounds really great according to my instructor. I will not need to upgrade in the future. I like it a lot.

This guitar hit my price-performance sweet spot--Exactly what I wanted.
I am very happy with this instrument. It has a great tone, and a super look. I have been away from guitars for years, and am loving the chance to continue my efforts.

Excellent guitar
Excellent product especially for the cost. It has nice volume and clarity and is a huge upgrade from my previous beginner instrument in the $100 price range. If you can afford it, I would start here as my first instrument. Ask of the hardware and craftsmanship is excellent. Comes with a will padded soft case.
