This product rescued two pieces of silver plate that I had given up on. One was a pendant I purchased in London in 1974 that had darkened in one area but did not improve after cleaning with even most expensive cleaner. Following directions on bottle carefully, the piece is like new. The second piece was an intricate piece that had been outdoors for a few years and the entire piece was grey which, like the other piece, did not improve with a number of treatments. Although it took a bit more time (10 minutes) than the pendant, the delicate piece is now again on display. Addendum: had not used an antitarnish treatment and noted tarnish after 3 months on the second piece so buffed it again and then used the recommended antitarnish treatment and it has stayed beautiful.

I'm absolutely in love with this product. I have a ring my mother gave to me. It was originally given to her by my father ages ago when they were younger. It was really tarnished, and cooper was oxidized. It held a lot of sentimental value and I've tried everything to try to restore it. I was so excited to try it out, didn't get a chance to take a before pic. I literally applied a dime size product and instantly seen the results. I'm beyond in love with the product. The ring is a reminder that my father wasn't always sick (Huntingtons Chorea) and the image I like to keep of him.

You will need to prep the surface, and in my case I used steel wool 0000, acetone. Using the gloves, I shook the snot out out of the bottle. Doing this ALLOWS the fine silver mil pieces to mix with the liquid. A little rubbing and using it generously will get you superior results. I might suggest a micro towel to polish it gently, then allow it to dry for a day. and buff again.... Perfect!!!!

I used this on small pieces of silver-plated jewelry that I would have thrown out if it didn’t work (so I didn’t have anything to lose but the money spent on product). 1st 2 photos show before; last photo shows after. I started with square pendant and was SO impressed! It covered worn spot in upper left, all along edges, and the hoop that the chain goes through. I next did hoop earring (I could only find one??). The sponge was a little large to work with so I cut it down and was easier to work with. But WOW - hoop and clasp are all shiny and new (now I need to find it’s mate.) Last I did the dangling beaded earrings. These were more challenging. I ended up pouring enough on the sponge to coat all the beads. The trick is you really have to rub the surfaces, and it was difficult to do given the shape. You also have to rub all surfaces with the clean cloth at then end to get the liquid off and make it shine - also difficult to do with this shape. So I think these look better, but not quite like new. For this, though, it’s the earring shape (and my patience to rub every surface of every bead) rather than the product. Looking forward to applying to all my old jewelry- and being able to wear them all again! Thank you!!!

This product works really well within its own stated parameters. Be sure you review the base metals that it will bond to. I used it on Silver Plate serving ware. It worked perfectly in some cases and not in others, this was due to the fact that if the base metals are not the specific ones that it reacts to, it won't work. It is a wonderful product to help refresh the finish of most worn silver plate.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this product based on the mixed reviews I had read. Some think it's amazing and some think it's crap. I had three kiddush cups in various states of disarray due to loss of silver plate: One I had completely stripped while cleaning it (which was fine because it looked bad anyway and much of it was stripped off before I did anything); another one had some of the silver plate rubbed off in places; and the third one that I didn't think it could help at all, which had areas of silver plate that peeled off (I thought that one was hopeless since that seemed like it would need to have the electroplating done to fix it.) It actually did the best job on the cup with practically no silver plate left on. It applied easily with a very small amount of effort required to see a difference. The second cup was the most disappointing because I had the most sentimental attachment to this one. It did improve the appearance of the silver from afar, but when you look closely it is uneven and dull looking, which I saw other reviewers mention I think (the pictures do not show this very well, so it looks great, but in person up close it looks like it has a film on parts of it.) The third cup that I had zero hope for did improve, but still has areas that did not take up silver for whatever reason. It is suitable for display which is good enough for me because I thought it was basically going to be trash (the middle part it not supposed to be silver, I covered that with tape when I was applying the silver to the other parts.) So in summary, your expectations for how it will perform on different pieces may be wrong. It did something for each of these pieces which I was impressed and grateful for because they were all in some pretty rough shape. I kind of wonder if I should just strip all the silver off the last one with some harsh silver polish and reapply the liquid silver to see if it becomes more even, but I'm afraid to ruin it...

Liquid Silver Plating System, Silverware Kit, Medallion Brand This was a cheap necklace, but I really liked it and didn't want to just throw it away when the finish came off. I am so happy to have it restored! Before and after photos are included. I actually think the silver finish is brighter than it was originally! The product does take some patience and persistence to apply. If you aren't happy with the result, keep working at it. The kit includes gloves (you don't want your hands silver-plated), application sponge, buffing cloth, and the plating liquid. All you need to add is something to place your items on (I used several layers of paper towel). Make sure you use enough so it doesn't soak through; my surface was fine, but the paper towel did get rather wet, so I would probably use more next time.

I tried a product like this over 25 years ago and it didn't work. This one WORKS! After just one application on my antique plaque looked great. I gave it a second coat for durability. I cleaned my item with alcohol to remove any wax or oils and then rubbed this compound on. It covered my plaque where the silvering had been worn through to the base metal. Wonderful!

I'm not sure why there are negative reviews and because of them I was a little hesitant to order this product. I have some nice pieces of jewelry that I cannot not wear any longer because the silver finish is off. One was an expensive Silpada bracelet. Years ago I decided to immerse it in liquid silver cleaner and it destroyed the finish and turned it black! In addition I had a large silver necklace pendant that turned a horrible orange over the years, and a silver plated ring. I thought, what the heck, I will have to throw them away as they currently are, so I'll give it a try. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful they turned out...pretty much like new!! I threw the bracelet in a bowl covered by the solution to get into all the nooks and crannies and let it air dry for a few minutes before wiped it off with the sponge coated with more solution. I did this twice since the Silpada piece was in such bad shape. It now is gorgeous! I wonder if the finish will last? That I don't know. I saw on Amazon a sealer, I am contemplating if I should order it to coat on top to keep the replating intact. I am at this point very pleased with this product!!

My elderly Mom, God Bless her sweet soul, soaked a solid sterling silver Byzantine necklace and bracelet we gifted her a few years ago in a solution of bleach and water. Not only did she use this abrasive solution one should never use on precious metals, but she forgot about it and it soaked for a few days. Needless to say the jewelry was damaged. The platinum coating that these pieces were coated in had been eaten away and the pieces were akin to black rough metal. Before ordering this silver plating kit I did spend time with an anti tarnish product. It removed most of the black but I was left with what I think is mostly the base metal of silver. It was better then before but still not wearable. Now comes this amazing Liquid Silver Plating system and the results are incredible! First, the kit came with just about everything you need. I liked the fact that protective rubber gloves were included along with applicator sponge and soft paper (thicker than paper towel) polishing cloth. With just the first wipe I could see I'd have success with the plating adhering to the jewelry. Even with the intricacies of a chain with so many tiny crevices, the easy to apply lotion used with the enclosed sponge covered all the base dull metal. I did continue to polish after application which really brought out a decent shine and luster. I've posted photos as it's the only way to truly relay just how great this product performs.
