Saw this at an escape room and bought one. Lock is a good quality and is fairly straightforward to set your own combination. I see a lot of bad reviews about locks sticking after setting a custom combo. Obviously by the number of these locks the escape room had they didn't have issues nor did I. I can only conclude that the directions were not followed exactly (very important with this lock) by those having combo trouble 😵 or they did not fully move the set lever fully back into it's regular position after programing. Some my also have allowed the dial to snap back after each direction movement while programing (directions warn against this). Be very deliberate and careful while prog aming and you should be fine. Don't snach it our the package like a 3 year old on Christmas 🎅 and barely skim the directions and think you don't need to follow every recommendation. This will lead to a damaged lock 😭. Only bad thing is Amazon doesn't allow color selection (luck of draw) and purple isn't a manly color 😥

I love this lock for my work locker . It is quick, fast, visually impaired friendly, and fun to use. However I purchased one about a year ago and the directional button started getting stuck so I had to purchase a new one. This is great for my visually impaired son also. Love the little stickers to put on it to make it personable and unique and easy to remember directional combination. I gave it 5 ☆ even though the first one only lasted about a year but I'm hoping this one will last much longer. Will re-visit this review if this one quits working.

Saw one of these at an escape room. We were putting together an escape room for a fund raiser for our youth camp and had to have one! Now, as for the functionality of the lock itself, I love that it is 1 handed. I can not speak to it's weather resistance for an outside lock, because we haven't used it for that, but for indoor use it is perfect. I'm sure because it is a master lock that outside use would be just fine, just use WD-40 on it to maintain it. BTW, if you didn't know the "WD" in WD-40 stands for "water dispersant." People use it as a penetrative oil, but if you use it on something that is not yet rusted, it will help prevent water damage to metal parts by "dispersing" the water so it doesn't stay and rust your metal parts... So, if you use this lock outside, put on some WD-40 and I'm sure it'll have a very long service life.

This lock can be opened with lightening speed, which is very convenient when you need quick access to your locker at work. I forget number combo's easy when I haven't used a lock in a week or longer when I go on vacations and such, but this lock uses directional movements and the muscle memory involved makes the combo much easier to recall when returning to it after a long absence. The button piece glides smoothly and easily. I must have opened and closed this lock several hundred times now and have not had any issues. I decided not to change the preset combination because it was very quick and simple to do and seemed hard to randomly guess (down up down left). Also, it's purple and purple is my favorite. The color is bright and the finish is shimmery.

I don't know what to say about the bad reviews. How can you hold a manufacturer responsible if it doesn't fit your specific application? I bought one of these at a hardware store for twice the price they are here and I was so thrilled with it, I came to Amazon to buy two more. If you read the instructions, the locks work flawlessly - even after you change the default setting. I have on on a utility trailer and I'm thrilled to be able to open it one-handed because my other hand is usually full. I don't like that you have to cut the tape to access the change lever. I'll have to tape it back as my locks will be used outdoors. Combination locks are very convenient when you can see the dial. But often it is dark or you are in a hurry. I can't speak more highly of these locks solving those problems. By the shape of the shoulders on this lock, you should be able to tell it will need an open hasp to connect. But there are so many different latching mechanisms, any failure of this lock to fit your application is the fault of online shopping and pictures more than it is the lock itself.

I'm not sure how other people are having issues with this lock. This is the third one I've purchased and they have all worked flawlessly. They do take a bit of getting used to since they're unique. If you remember to double-bump the lock before trying to unlock it you won't have any problems. And, of course, don't forget the combo. I use these to lock a couple of high-traffic fridges in a "speakeasy" style bar in my back yard. I don't want people getting in to the fridges but I also don't want to fumble with something ten times a day just to get a soda. These locks are openable in two seconds flat using only one hand. If you're not going to open a lock all the time then a standard one will be fine. I'm not sure if these are good for direct exposure to the weather, but I'm using them outdoors under cover with no problem.

This lock has a remarkably smooth operation. I operated the default combination several times to check the operation, reliability. Works fine. I went through the reset operation carefully, following the written directions. New combination works fine. Continued smooth operation. My chance, this one happens to be a nice unusual color, so I can locate it easily in the locker room. I recommend this lock for gym use, as you don't take a long time to work a spin dial, nor do you need to carry a key. I've given one to a good friend, and he's still a good friend, as he says the lock is fine!

I've had several of these in service for at least five years in a medium-light duty application: gate locks on several gates on a ranch. They they have been as reliable as any other lock I've used for this application, with the added advantage of requiring no keys, no glasses and no light to open. I soak 'em in soapy water at the end of dusty summer, rinse well, dry and then squirt some Teflon lubricant inside and with this treatment these locks have proven more resistant to icing than the conventional keyed locks. If they do ice up, a few moments in a warm hand does the trick. I just bought two more for two new gates and after seeing the negative reviews decided to share my own positive experience. These are not heavy duty locks, they won't stop a determined intruder, but they strike the perfect balance of security, convenience and reliability for me. Follow the instructions carefully and maybe you'll have as good of luck with these locks as I have. A final note, another reviewer stated all the locks come from the factory with the same combination. This has not been the case with the locks I have purchased. So if you buy in bulk pay close attention to the documentation with each lock so you can open it and reset the combo.

Having just gotten it, I can't say how long it will last, but it seems like a quality product for indoor use. I was looking at alpha combo locks initially, and this seems sturdier, more like a "real" padlock. The face of the lock is pretty much undecipherable, so that will deter people who have never used one. I set the combination to 6 gestures. Seems to work great. Keep the directions unless you've changed it a bunch of times. I got a blue one. The add-on stickers are small black printing on dark blue background, so very hard to read. I would not use them. Better to learn the pattern with muscle memory, and write it down as U D L R, etc.

Absolutely love this lock. It's different, but so easy. I find it so much more fun to use than a regular lock. Hell, I am even writing a review about a pad lock!!! I received my product on time. Be aware of some really difficult packaging. My personal trainer told me, they sell these locks at the gym, but have many returns, because people can't open the packaging and/or don't find the instructions and are at a loss. If you want this lock, order it before you need it and be able to unpack it at home. You need scissors, a hammer and a crowbar! (Just kidding, scissors are enough) You open the packaging and underneath is a kind of compartment, that you have to open separately. Thats were you detach the lock and find the instructions. Once you freed your lock, to set your code is super easy. You open it with the code provided. Slide the little lever in the back upward, then put in your combination and slide the lever back down, voila! Before each use you have to presse the metal bar down teice to reset it to receive your code. It's really easy to use and fun! Don't let the packaging intimidate you. Enjoy!
