Value item.
I was not expecting it to be so nice. I've been burning a lot since it arrived and not having to worry about a stray ember getting away. I like the way you can open either side and toss a log inside. Update! I used it for two years and finally the screen gave out. I really abused it with roaring fires, rain and snow. I figured out a way to replace the screen so every two years I only need to purchase a roll of 1/4 “ screen and replace it. If you treat it better than me I’m sure it would last much longer.

Just what I needed
Works perfect on the outside fire pit on the deck. Now I can enjoy my scotch and cigars without having to keep an eye on the burning embers floating off from the dang firepit...I mean really, how many things can a man be expected to do at once?!? Besides, I only have two hands and they are busy holding my scotch and cigar!

PERFECT-- but Rusts
Loved this .. A little pricey but works awesome to keep all those embers from flying around. and having the ability to lift up half at a time to roast marshmallows or add logs was awesome. super easy to put together. I would say well worth the price.. Only one downside it rusts.. I would suggest getting some rustoleum high heat spray as the coating that comes on it if rained on will rust. But painting is no big deal. we will paint it before we use it again this summer

It's a Keeper
Our firepit table needed a replacement screen. The screen we were replacing was much more shallow, not so bubble-like as this one. Altho I like the look of the older shallow screen better, I can see why this higher bubble design is more practicle and will keep the flames away from the screen more. It came in four halves to put together. A1 & A2 go together to form a slightly smaller half dome than B1 & B2's larger half dome. The 2 half domes are then bolted together in the outer corners. The instructions weren't very helpful. I just looked at what I had to work with and the photo and figured it out.. (Curved corners of each set go on outside of their mate) The "A" half can swing back UNDER the larger "B" half, or B can swing OVER the smaller A side. So you can add to or tend your fire from either side. The one thing I wish it had was a handle on the very top of the B side to lift the dome completely off the pit if I want to. (my pit also has a solid lid man-hole cover for when not in use,. .this is no biggie tho.) Like others have mentioned, we bought the Rustoleum Spray paint and will give ours a coat of that to prolong it's life. (we did that with our previous screen as well.) We measured ours as 24" and that's what we ordered. Altho it doesn't sit perfectly into the table grooves, it is sure close enough for us. We are happy with our purchase, and we appreciate the reviews that others have left here. They really helped with our decision-making process. I don't know about you all, but we didn't have luck finding replacement screens in the brick & mortar stores, so having some feedback from others was greatly appreciated. I do think the dome makes my firepit table look like a flying saucer now, but oh-well, I feel safe from the flying sparks and it sorta makes me laugh! I will try to come back and add photos soon. Good luck with your decisons.

Great screen.
I needed / wanted a spark screen for a new fire pit we had installed mainly to protect my young and curious kids when they are sitting, or running around when we have a fire. Our fir pit came with a grill attachment on a swing-arm, so I liked this large dome because I was pretty sure I could still keep it over the fire and it would close even with the grill. It does fit over it with it closed, it has to be a bit off-center because the grill hand does protrude out a bit, but that is hardly noticeable. It looks great when you have a fire as well, and when you need to access your fire, either end swings open really big and you still roast marshmallows or attend to your fire It arrived promptly, and was easy to put together. Make sure to use some tools to get those bolts on really tight. Once together, it swings open with ease, and looks great on the fire pit. I use a rain-cover on my pit when not in use, so this dome is also great for keeping the cover on, and doesn't allow rain to pool up in pockets and fall inside the pit. I got the 40" version and it is the perfect size.

Nice screen
I'm pleased with it, easy to assemble and sits just right on my homemade fire pit. It fits the way I wanted it to over the Sun Joe SJFP30-D Fire Joe 29.5" Fire Bowl that I bought. See photos. The mesh screen is actually heavier than I expected. I will paint it and the fire bowl with high temp paint before using.

as others had recommended. It is looking as good as the first ...
I did paint the cover with heat resisted flat black paint, as others had recommended. It is looking as good as the first day I used it. I also used Locktight on each of the screws to prevent the nuts from backing off. I am happy with it and have also purchased a vinyl cover to keep the rain out of the pit when not in use.

So far, so good.

Works well.
Works well. I painted with Rustoleum to further protect it. So far has weathered both the fire pit and all the rain flawlessly.I have received many compliments on it's appearance and functionality.

Good for the price.
Good for the price. My original fire pit has gone through several of these type of screens. The original mfr wants $60. Those stainless ones are nearly $200!! This one is much better with the 'quartered' design and all that framing. A cheap furniture cover will keep these screens going for 3-5 years (if you don't step on them in the dark).
