I previously bought this at my local big warehouse 'club' and amazon has a cheaper price, no tax, so I'll buy here from now on. This tape holds extremely well and even lasts through extreme temps. I have bought the cheaper off brand and it loosens in the heat so I definitely prefer spending a few extra bucks if it means I don't have to re-tape boxes after stuff falls out of them.

This tape is somewhat thicker, has better adhesive and I've found it's more durable than off-brand packing tape. I keep a roll in the kitchen "tool drawer", one in my workshop and another in my store room.

Do you do most of your shopping online? Especially for clothes and then you need to return stuff all the time? This isn't the scotch tape that you want, but the scotch tape that you deserve. Don't buy tape rolls one at time - you aren't fooling anyone (especially the people at the local UPS store - yeah, they are judging you hard core). You need six times the sticking power. Nordstrom might not thank you Scotch - but I surely do.

I buy a ton of packing tape every year, so I watch the quality and pricing very closely; unlike some others out there, this particular tape sticks to bare cardboard very-very well, without the need to wrap it over onto itself, and if you do your homework, I think you'll find that this bundle of six rolls proves to be the most cost-effective option when compared to others by price-per-foot.

I found that 3M offers a Scotch mailing/packaging tape but this "storage" is much stronger. It doesn't tear easily when dispensed as the others do. This is very good tape and a great value.

I know that many people have commented that they have issues with this tape sticking. At first I did too, but then I realized that all I needed to do was give a quick, firm pass over it with my hand and no more issues. Another reviewer mentioned that the recycled boxes (especially from Home Depot) caused problems. But honestly, I have over 200 boxes packed (some for over 2 years), most of which are Home Depot boxes, and I honestly haven't had any issues. I love this tape.

Some reviews had me nervous. Well some pictures showed people clearly didn't know how to tape a box. Crease to crease all the way around - or just continue from where you taped the bottom from and stopped the tape. Then for added strength run a second path opposite to your first direction (perpendicular) around the girth of the box end to end. So it looks like an H. That is how your a supposed to tape a box. Some recycled material boxes will act different. While heavy duty tape seems better, I have yet to see a break in the seal yet with this stuff. Also adhere to the guidelines on your box certificate (on the bottom flap) - if it says 65lbs maximum weight, then that is what it means. Rule of thumb is to not exceed 50% of rated capacity in case the box is dropped from 5 feet (standard test). Just thought that might help a little. Keeping it in a cool dark place is also ideal, and even keeping the open package inside a ziplock freezer bag will help if not using right away. Good stuff. It's not the best 3M Scotch tape, but for the price - it works just fine.

Awesome tape! I do a ton of shipping and these rolls have lasted me forever. The tape is high-quality and really nice - sometimes I buy the cheap tape and always regret it. This is a solid product. Updating to say I bought this tape about 1.5 years ago, it works perfectly on cardboard boxes (I see many reviewers saying they had a tough time using on cardboard, they may have changed the stickiness).

I recently came upon a few boxes I had put into storage several years back and it was easily visible which boxes were sealed with the cheap office supply store brand vs. Scotch Long Lasting Moving & Storage Packaging Tape. The generic / store brand tape was dried up, crumbling and in many cases brittle to the touch. The boxes opened up from the bottom when they were picked up spilling their contents which were now dusty and required cleaning. I was quite surprised when I realized the boxes that were sealed with LLM&S tape were movable without issue and the tape itself showed little to no discoloration, an easy indicator that the adhesive had not corroded away. Upon opening these boxes, everything was tidy just the way it was when it was packed away. I was already sold on the tape after having moved twice and breaking several plates when a box sealed by cheap tape opened up causing quite a stir at the residence I was just moving into. Quite loud and embarrassing! None of the boxes sealed with LLM&S tape had any issue. I also use LLM&S tape for shipping items I've sold online and have never had a problem. If the tape doesn't stick properly to cardboard that is fuzzy (due to a label being torn off), use your fingernails and draw crisscross lines to help the adhesive to stick first, then slide your palm against it for the final seal. The more you know ♒★

I have used this tape for years in my business, I don't trust any other brand. It's not heavy duty in my opinion, more like medium duty, but it does an adequate job for sealing boxes and mailers. My shipments seldom exceed 5 lbs. If you are shipping items that weight more than that you would need to use several layers of this tape to assure the box won't fail where the tape seals it.
