great quality, right on time

worked exactly as designed

Worked at exactly as it was supposed to.

I installed them in MDF and in kiln dried fir boards. In the fir boards I used a slightly larger drill bit than recommended on the package. I used a bolt with nut and threaded that into the insert, tightening the nut against the insert. Then using a socket and socket wrench I easily screwed in the insert. The resistance was high enough that you would not be able unscrew it in regular use. Make sure that you screw them in with the correct end. The slotted end facing away from the wood. By mistake I had it the other way and it started splitting the wood. I use it in a wood working jig where I will assemble and disassemble various parts all the time. This is a lot nice to use than a bolt with a nut on other side. I liked the so much I bought other sizes.

This type of hardware is difficult for me to find locally, so I did some research and discovered E-Z Lok brand. These inserts are FAR superior to those I've used before. They are considerably heavier & more robust, with a fine gripping (exterior) thread that is much less likely to cause you grief. Sold as they are in packs, even with shipping they were cheaper per unit than the competing, thinner & quite fragile parts I found at my local hardware outlet. I'll only be using E-Z Lok brand in future.

I have bought inserts from both of the top big box hardware stores and these are much better quality than those were. Very good product. There is more brass in these. You have to drill a bigger hole for the same size thread because these are beefier.

I would have saved a lot of work if I could have found these about a month ago. These were part of a repair to inserts that didn't hold. These are solid.

Excellent kit though consider using a 1/64 smaller bit when installing in soft woods. Aside from that the inserts work great. Easy to install using the provided self-centering driver bit. Though you could install with a screwdriver in a pinch the provided drill bit (intended for hardwoods) and driver bit do make it simpler, especially if you don't have drill bits in 1/64" increments.

I use these in wood working projects and furniture, always like to keep some on hand.

Excellent product. I used these to attach the removable for shipping feet to some coffee tables.
