Soft little friend

My daughter wanted a pillow pet desperately. She kept a chart and wrote down what she did for chores and saved her own money. Without having to save her own money and pay for it herself there would be zero educational value to this. She even ran to her room and then brought the money to the computer and looked for the slot to put it in (very cute). I don't think education is what they had in mind for a pillow pet, unless you use it to bribe your child to sleep in their own room. When it came I checked over the stitching...there were no holes or loose strings. She loves it and it is extremely soft. Amazon had a sale on the last years styles so she got it for a little over $10. It was a reasonable price. There is no way I would spend the $25-35 some places are asking for them.

My Pillow Pets Unicorn - fun for adults too!!

Ok, I'll admit I'm 22 years old and I purchased a Unicorn Pillow pet. It really is just as advertised. The fur is very soft and at least my unicorn is very stuffed, making it very "unicorn-ish" in closed position and very pillow like when open. I can understand why kids go nuts for these things. The horn and tail stand up nice. In terms of durability I can't really rate it, as I don't drag it around by the tail or anything. It did hold up just fine through moving and being tossed around a bit. I've had mine since November with no complaints. One thing to note - the tag on mine says surface washable, and I thought they were advertised as machine washable. I haven't had to wash mine yet, but I will probably contact the manufacturer. It's a great size, it's super cuddly for those "I hate my thesis and want to throw things at the wall and cry" days, and I like it so much I'm considering getting one of the dinosaurs or the dolphin.

such a nice toy

The thing I love about this is that it's a sweet stuffed animal that acts out story after story with my daughter as a proud an beautiful unicorn, then opens up to rest her head on while she falls asleep. Normally the as seen on tv things are just junk that you can live without but this is different. This pillow is on her bed until she wants to play with it. It has been on a 26 hour plane trip, washed in the washer and toted around through countless errands and yet, it still lives. I ordered one for a niece since the price is right and it's a favorite of my daughters. I figured it was a good bet to be a hit. I think if you get one, you will think so too.

My dachshund's best friend

Like all of the other Pillow Pets that I have ordered through the years (at least 4 others) this order arrived in perfect condition. Pillow pets have a good amount of stuffing and do not go flat. Our miniature dachshund is the owner of the pillow pets. He has dragged them through the house, from room to room, and they are bigger than he is. Unfortunately, his manic attempts at killing them, eventually cause fatal injuries. Then it must be disposed of when he is nowhere around. You get a stern look if you touch his pillow pet. I keep buying them because he loves them all "to death" and they give him exercise that I, due to a heart condition, cannot.

Tuesdays through Thursdays I'm on campus from 8am to about 11pm. I don't get home until about midnight and I have to get up and get pretty for school around 5 or 5:30am. Needless to say I don't get a lot of sleep, but I do try to snooze quite a bit around campus when I get the chance. Sophia Cuddlebutter makes this possible! Seriously this is the best ten bucks I've ever spent. Not only is this pillow pet adorable, but it's really comfortable and doesn't die in the washing machine as long as I turn the spin cycle on low. She's a durable little friend and I love her!

Great gift for Unicorn fans

This was a great gift for my Fiancee. She loves unicorns so this year I decided to get her a couple unicorn items to brighten up her days amidst all her stress and work. The first was a poster to replace a childhood unicorn poster that had gotten destroyed in our last move, and the other was this pillow/stuffed animal. Needless to say she loves it. The ability it has to become either a pillow or stuffed animal "toy" with just the use of a Velcro plush strap to blend is clever. She loves how soft it is and always uses it throughout the day either for her back, sitting on the couch, or taking a nap. Incredibly durable as well, considering we have a cat with it's claws who uses the unicorn pillow on a daily basis to knead and push against. Outside of the product I must also give kudos to Amazon as well. We first ordered this and upon the date of delivery, did not receive it. Called the post office but of course they just said: "well you're a liar because it's not here and we don't make mistakes." (not in those words but I'm sure we've all gotten the attitude of the USPS at one point or another) Despite any of that, 1 online chat with an Amazon sales rep, not even 10 minutes and I had another on it's way with rushed overnight delivery paid for by them. Sure enough received it the very next day with no issues at all. Definitely pleased with the product quality, the enjoyment she gets out of having it, and Amazons amazing service.

Soft and Cuddly

My 7 year old is obsessed with unicorns. We've owned two pillow pets before and that have withstood years of washing, using and drying. Unicorn hasn't been washed but is soft and cuddly.

We love this purple guy!

I bought this for my thirteen year old daughter and have to admit that I want one for myself, preferably in a lovely rainbow shade. She uses her unicorn often when watching tv or doing homework and I have snatched him myself a few times. He is super cushy and comfy when expanded into his pillow form. When transformed back into a unicorn he looks adorable resting on her bed and you'd never know he lives a double life as pillow. My kitties also love to cuddle close to him when she leaves for school. We haven't washed him yet, he has managed to avoid getting anything spilled on him and she doesn't use him often for sleep as his "fur" is too hot, sort of like cuddling up to a lush, winter blanket in the summer time, but he is perfectly portable for the occasional sleepover or just for comfort. When it does come time for washing I will stick him in a pillow case to avoid damaging him as I do with all of the other stuffies.

Great for all ages!

I'm turning 40 in a few weeks and bought this for myself! I'm also undergoing some painful physical therapy on my knee so this little guy is going to be my therapy support buddy. ;) I've actually found though that it is surprisingly comfortable for use for propping myself up in bed and using as a flat pillow. After all the expensive therapeutic pillows I've bought myself, who knew a unicorn pillow pet would be the best? I'm impressed with the material covering the velcro strip so when you open it up it doesn't loose it's tack. Little details like that are evidence of craftsmanship. Looking forward to using it for my intended purpose: screaming into during therapy! ;)

Wonderful Christmas present

My six-year-old daughter wanted this for her Christmas present last year. I was a little concerned about the durability based upon other reviews here, but since it was the only thing that she really wanted, I bought it for her anyway. It is very soft, and cuddly. So far it hasn't gotten dirty enough to wash -- she only plays with it inside or in the car. It has been over a month since she received it, and it has held up to lots of imaginary play and lots of loving with no signs of tearing. I rated it a 5 because that is what she would have rated it (She isn't as stingy with stars as I am!). I just read the above to my daughter and asked her if there was anything else she wanted to add. Her reply was "She's awesome and cuddly!" They are dancing together in the living room now!
