Extremely durable and easy to use.

I work at a hospital as a housekeeper and use this mop. It is used as a mop and like a sweeper to collect all dirt, no sweeping beforehand necessary unless you're using it on tiles with grout ( dirt and hair gets stuck on grout).After 2 years of using it, I was very impressed with how durable and extremely useful and easy it was for getting floors clean. I decided to buy one for my own house. The only thing is that after many washes, the pads wear out a bit since they attach to the mop by Velcro but that's to be expected.

Check out my other review on Rubbermaid commercial products. This extension pole has a nice feel to it. Works well with other Rubbermaid tools. This pole has length for hard to reach places. Easy twist adjustment. Easy press removal and attachment of compatible cleaning products.

Forget about all those squirt bottle mops -- including Swiffer, Lysol, and even Rubbermaid. Eventually, the squirt bottles all stop working. Don't' replace it with another squirt bottle mop - replace it with this quick connect rod from Rubbermaid's commercial product line. You can attach both a dry mop duster AND a wet mop scrubber to this, and the absence of the cumbersome squirt bottle means you can more easily maneuver under furniture and around tight corners. Carry your own squirt bottle of cleanser --- or make your own. Your'll be happy to never need another mop again. And btw - this is what the professionals use in hospitals and other institutional settings.

Expensive Mop, But Worth It! VERY STURDY!!!

I tried purchasing one of these wet push mops from a big bog retailer, but they always seemed to break after just a few uses. I was determined to find a better version of wet mop that would actually last, and finally I've found it! Thank you Rubbermaid Hygen for making a "commercial" version of this mop that doesn't have weak joints that will break easily (like the cheap big box store wet mops). You have to purchase this handle and the base separately, making this a $40+ mop for me with taxes. I paid for the handle $19.00 (Hygen Handle B000GAXLIW) + and I chose to purchase the 17 inch base for $18.05 (17 Inch Hygen Base - B005KCOB4Y). Since the the Hygen mop pads were expensive, I decided to purchase some alternate microfiber mop pads for $12.99 (B01HFW4XHQ). I am very happy with those mop pad too! Overall this is a great mop, and I would reccommend it to anyone looking for a resuable wet mop that will last!!!

I have used one of these at work for two years… Decided to buy one for my house and I am not disappointed! I like that the handle adjusts to height and the bottom pivots around corners and underneath things! Well worth the money! FYI- Has to be ordered in two pieces. The handle is sold separate from the base.

Durable

I own a cleaning business and have been using this for a few months now. This handle does take some getting used to with the curved handle. I find myself readjusting it so that it's straight. If you have it lined up right, it is nice to use compared to the straight up and down handles. It's less wear on your back and arms. This handle is superior to my old mop because it has its own tensioning piece to be tightened rather than having it inside the handle. The old mop I had broke after a couple of years because the tensioning system was inside the handle. I think this system will work much better and last a lot longer. It should be a durable handle.

HYGEN telescoping handle

I am so happy with these Rubbermaid HYGEN products. The only issue I have had is finding out which components are compatible since you need to purchase the handle, mop frame and whatever mops (in my case, the microfiber mop and dust mop) separately. This system is such an improvement over the microfiber mop I was using before since with the width of the mops, it takes only a few passes to clean a large area. Plus, it takes a lot less time and effort to rinse out the microfiber mop but you get the mop very clean before you use it. This handle is light but it telescopes so you can adjust it to the length most comfortable for you to use. Genius cleaning system.

This is an excellent piece of equipment

This is an excellent piece of equipment, as is the metal/plastic mop frame, which you also need to purchase for its most common use. Yes, it is a pricey investment. What you attach after you selected these 2 pieces is up to you, unless you desire something specialized like traditional mop heads. I've used this extensively for floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and pretty much anything else that needs washing. Just apply your preferred mop head, then your preferred cleaner, and get to work. I use these every day at work. The durability is the best I've seen of similar equipment, which eventually failed (usually the extender mid-handle). In fact, I've yet to see the core HYGEN frame fail. I purchased this item for personal use after recognizing its reliability. If there's one gripe, even with a 5 star review, it's the "swiffers" themselves. Old ones tend to fray, and then the fabric may wind up in the "velcro" of the separate mop frame. Easy fix to remove it in a few minutes, but just letting you know. I know this because we work with companies that deliver the swiffers, like UniFirst. Hospital folk will know what I mean.

Perfect floow washing system for my home

While doing a recent two week stay in the hospital, I noticed the ease with which the "cleaning lady" washed the floors every day. So, have made the investment into the Ruibbermaid HyGen mop system. The mop head, handle, and pads come separately. This handle easily extends for any cleaning need. It attaches to the mop head with a swivel joint which is very strong.
