Super easy to use and it removes all of the strawberry stem/leaves. The more your grip the top, the wider the tool expands. This works well since obviously not all strawberries are the same size. A little pressure and it works well on small strawberries. A little more and it will open wider to remove larger stems on larger strawberries. I wish I had found this easy to use device years ago! It's a real time saver!

I love this! It's so fast and easy! Some have said that it doesn't work, but I disagree. I may be biased though because I have been using one for years and just bought this replacement, so I've had a lot of practice with one. If anyone is having trouble, this is the best I can say to help: First, push and hold button. Insert prongs so 1/2 to 2/3 length of prongs are in berry (depending on the size of berry). Then, as you release the button, slowly turn the huller as you push down into the berry slightly, creating a rotating knife basically. When hull is cut out, simply remove huller from berry and press button again to release the cut hull. I find it helpful to pull the leaves off first, but you don't have to. My husband says it's a nifty little tool because there is a lot less berry wasted than when he just uses a knife to cut the hulls out. Overall, I would definitely recommend this!

It works exactly as represented. I know, it is a little time consuming to pull out each stem individually - but! - that said, it goes pretty fast. I de-stemmed a whole bag of delicious strawberries for a fruit salad. It was done in less than half the time I would have had to stand there and cut them out by hand. Just make sure the top of the strawberry is lined up with the plunger. After pulling out the stems I used a slicer tool. I eat a LOT of fruit salad being on Weight Watchers and this is a wonderful gadget.

After seeing this holler on Americas Test Kitchen I was interested in weather or not it really worked as well as it seemed on the show. But because I don't subscribe to their site I had to do some elbow grease to find out which product this was. Needless to say I found it and after ordering it and waiting the few days for it to come in the mail I used it this morning. I hate the waste that comes from cutting off the tops of strawberries and I've tried the push a straw through the bottom of the strawberry to push off the stem but that was just annoying. This Chef'n StemGem Strawberry Huller is perfect! I pulled out a pint of strawberries this morning and hulled the lot of 'em within a minute! This handy little guy is so very easy to use, and takes out the stem with wasting very little of the berry. I am so, so happy that I bought this product! And it's a bonus that it's dishwasher safe (top rack) and is so small that it won't take up a lot of drawer space! This is my personal opinion and not of any others. Used my phone to take this picture, hope it's clear enough.

If you use it for multiple packages of strawberries, your thumb feels a little sore after, but this product is totally worth everything to me. You open it, let the claws grab the leaves, and as you let go, slightly twist the huller so it grabs everything. It works perfectly. And I eat SEVERAL strawberries every day. I used to just chop off the top and I’d either waste part of the strawberry or I’d eat the rest of it til I get to the leaves but that is very time consuming!

Does not work as well on smaller strawberries, but medium and large ones are a breeze. Might be a little difficult to clean thoroughly though.

Best thing EVER!!!! Makes the strawberry life so much easier, especially when you have a 4 year old screaming for strawberries lol. Thank you to how ever invented this thing!!! Must have in strawberry lovers kitchen.

I was dubious about this, but let me tell you it is wonderful! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my hands, and it is extremely painful to core strawberries with a knife. I got this thing and it is so easy to use, and does not hurt my fingers and hands. I am so excited that I can once again enjoy strawberries! It is well made, and so easy to use!

My wife uses this a few times a week and now wonders how she lived without it. If you enjoy strawberries fairly often I recommend considering this because it wastes very little of the strawberry and removes the unwanted portion very easily regardless of the size of the berry.

I am not a gadget person. Yet, I love this strawberry huller. I used to hull strawberries with a paring knife, cutting around the stem to remove the "core," not just cutting off the top. This device works better and faster. Push down on the green stem to open the blades. Push blades into strawberry. Release the green stem. Twist. Perfect in removing the core virtually every time. Not too much and not too little removed. Just right and very uniform. No bruising. For me, it worked on all sizes of strawberries from the store or farmers markets. I live in California and almost all of the strawberries are medium or large to XL. And, the huller is easy to clean. Swish around in soapy water, rinse. So glad I bought it.
