Easy and simple to install, allows for errors to be fixed. As permanent as you'd like it to me. We ran water lines from one part of the basement to another, since we decided to build an additional bathroom. we were fearful about cutting into the old copper tubing and attaching a new CPVC or sharkbite pipe. After careful measuring, we inserted the copper pipes to the bottom and the top, added the new pipe to the middle portion and done. No leaks no issues. so much easier to work when you don't have to solder, glue or worry about a mistake. Best plumbing invention in years. Update: Feb 2018, still, no issues, no leaks, no problem.

Used this for a standard weight copper pipe splice. No leaks. very easy install. Wish they were a bit less costly.

This review covers the entire line of Sharkbite products. So, I had to replace a faucet and dishwasher hot water connection that previously a compression connection. It had a small leak that I worked on repeatedly with no success. I bought the needed Sharkbite parts, threw away the old connections and valves and redid the connections with their products. Completely leak proof in a very short amount of time. Also used these products in a bath remodel,, again worked perfectly. I will never mess with solder again. Well worth the cost.

I'm a plumber! Only kidding, I know it takes skill to be a plumber. But this product is great . Took about an hour for the whole project. When I turned the water back on I was sure water would be spraying everywhere. That's how most of my projects go. You have heard measure twice cut once. I measure three or four times and still manage to be long or short. That's o.k. "A man has to know his limitations. However, I turned on the water ... not a drop no moisture. Thank you who ever invented this! And was able to add two shut offs.

Easy to use. Push HDPE, PEX, or copper tubing in to the required depth, and you're set. Just go ahead and buy the removal tool while you're at it. Might not need it this job, but maybe the next. Depth gauge would be nice to have, but certainly not necessary to make a leak free connection.

SharkBite should be the invention of the century. They make plumbing a "snap". Anyone that can cut a pipe off straight can do plumbing now, you still have to know the other four rules but these fittings make life a lot easier.

Pros: Press on and walk away, never leak Cons: relatively expensive for large project, but cheaper than leaks

over the year I have had my camper I have heard Great things About these little jewels I say that because they must think they are made of gold but I have used slip lock connectors before on air lines and other things on autos and trucks and love the ease of use to the push on and done so when it came time for my first upgrade of adding expansion tank to my RV's water system to get rid of pump short cycling, water hammering, flow surging I knew when the upgrade came time since the rest of my RV was Plumbed In PEX pipe I was going to be using Shark bite fittings the tank has the Shark bite 1/2 to 1/2 MNPT mip Elbow pn# U280LF And the tee 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 tee pn# U362LFA Also Adding A water Pressure gauge to the system add will be using the Shark bite slip tee pn#U348LFA got to love shark bite they make the job so much faster

These are the best products I have used for a long time. Easy and fast to install. I really Thanks the inventor, (now very rich ) ,has help a new generation .and Shark Bites for passing this products along to people... Thanks..

I was reluctant at first but after reading the reviews thought I would give SharkBite a try. Wow was this so much easier than soldering (and even Pex). Obviously a bit pricey to do a lot of fittings, but in locations where turning the water completely off (on a main with an old valve that doesn't completely close) - this was so much easier than soldering. A great way to join Pex with copper.
