Excellent electric motor gives me very slow motion for control of difficult sewing of thick leather pieces. With the dial set to low, the motor gives my Pfaff 1245 about 5-7 stitches per minute. It will also easily run up to high speed with the twist of the selector dial. Plenty of power in the motor to drive the needle through two or three pieces of 8-9 ounce bull hide. Shipping was good. I expect to have many years of service from this electric sewing motor.

I bought a second hand industrial machine some years ago and my husband refused to allow me to use it because of the huge, heavy, loud motor. This Christmas I decided it was time to use my investment, so we set out to research to see if we could find a quiet motor which could do the same job. We found this motor on amazon and I bought it. Skeptical, but lets give it a try. This motor is worth it. It is so quiet, yet so powerful that no one in my home even knows that I am sewing. I wish that I had found it earlier. A friend of mines who owns an upholstery shop saw it and has decided to change all his old motors. I recommend this very highly. Definitely worth the investment. Thanks Amazon.

Instalation was a breeze and I made no adjustment to the motor and can sew one stitch at a time. It replaced the clutch motor on my machine and I can now use it with ease.

Updated my old clutch motor with this and I wish I'd done it sooner! It's quite, smooth, and can be adjusted to any speed. Get a buddy to help you install it though, it's a bit heavy.

I do a lot of sewing on webbing ! Fighting the old clutch motor system was a night mare with one inch webbing. I now have total control of speed from zero ,to one stitch at a time if needed to full speed runs.

Got the the motor promptly after it was ordered, Installed it in minutes, used it for the first time last week end, it worked so much better than the clutch motor, a lot better control. One stitch at a time, plenty of power to punch through 4 layers of heavy upholstery material, I should have done it sooner, can't beat the price.

Perfect just what i wanted

I purchased a used machine with a modified clutch motor, and though quiet for a clutch, it was slowly going out. There are no additional instructions on how to mount this motor, but luckily, my mother owned a couple of industrial sewing machines. We were able to take a look and see how they were mounted. My original motor was mounted from underneath, so my husband had to drill new holes for the bolts, but this doesn't interfere with the sewing as these holes are to the right side of the machine, and not in the sewing path. I have it set at the lowest (970) until I get used to the motor. Unlike the clutch, the servo motor goes from nothing to fast. This setting is still faster than my domestic "home" machine, and the reason I purchased an industrial in the first place.
