It's a Sharkbite and they are great!
This has to be one of the all-time greatest inventions. This (and PEX) makes plumbing so much easier than 15 years ago when you had to sweat copper. I was replacing a tub/shower and installed these so I could have localized shut-offs. They easily allowed me to minimize the time the water was off in my entire house. I turned the water off, used a pipe cutter to cut off the hot and cold water runs near the bathroom, then slipped one of these on each pipe and made sure they were turned off. The water was back on throughout the house in 5 minutes! Then I went ahead and ran the new plumbing for shower/tub using PEX. The PEX slipped right into the opposite side of these Sharkbites making a perfect connection. Using these and PEX is so simple it makes me want to re-plumb my whole house!

There is no replacement for the True SharkBite!
Replaced a wanna be product that I purchased from ACE hardware. I purchased 4 of ACE's brand look-a-like valves, and every one of them leaked. I took them all back, and purchased true SharkBite brand, and what a difference. No leaks, works GREAT!

Way better than sweating copper!
I forgot to disconnect my hose during a cold snap and froze/split the faucet, so had some repair work to do. The location would have made copper repair challenging, but this product and shark-bite faucet and some PEX made this amazingly easy. If I ever freeze my faucet again, it will be even easier to pop a new one into place, especially with a shut-off valve right where I'll need it. I'm sold on Shark-Bite technology for plumbing!

Terrific replacement for a 42 year old stop valve soldered on copper pipe
The ball valve arrived a day early; thanks I am no plumber by any means and normally don't like to do plumbing repairs but this made it very easy. I had to replace a 42 year old stop off valve, the type that rotates until it shuts off or on, the screw in/out type; it was soldered onto 3/4" copper pipe for the water heater because I went to shut off the cold water to the water heater to flush the heater and water started to squirt out of the valve! I thought that since the valve is open full or closed completely that a ball valve would be the better choice. I don't like to play around with soldering copper pipe so I chose this Sharkbite 3/4" ball valve. It's suppose to work with copper plus other pipe or tubing. I sweated off the old valve and sanded cleaned both ends of the copper so there was no solder remaining; then snapped on the new ball valve and turned on the main shut off. I was surprised that I could do this and not have a leak anywhere! It works great! And I can swivel the handle to wherever I need it for easy access. I totally recommend this "Push-to-Connect ball valve.

Super-easy to use by even non-handyfolk
SharkBite fittings make plumbing repairs accessible to just about anyone. I've been on a quest to replace all the old-style valves (round handle ones) with the updated ball-style valves like this. With just a simple tubing cutter and these SharkBite valves I'm able to replace an old valve in just a few minutes on my copper piping (plastic or PEX would be even easier). Yes, they do cost a bit more than standard-style fittings that need to be "sweated" in, but the convenience is worth it in my book not to have to mess with torches, solder, etc. I've found the SharkBite quality to be pretty consistent across all the different fittings I've used.

I'm not really sure what to say. SharkBite fittings ...
I'm not really sure what to say. SharkBite fittings work. That's all there is to it. They don't leak, corrode, fail internally, or do anything else but work. This is all provided that you follow instructions (clean, deburr, cut square), but I'll take these over soldering in just about any situation.

No toolbox should be without one of each size.
These things work great. It seems that every time I'm doing a plumbing project for friends or family there is no local shut-off for the area to be worked on and the upstream (sometimes whole house) shut-off doesn't stop water from trickling into the area I'm trying to solder something in. When this happens I just cut the pipe upstream of the project and push one of these on and then turn it off. I can do all my other work downstream without having water dripping into the work and then trim the pipe on the other side of this valve and push it on. Since I'm a "Friends and Family" DIYer, I don't charge for my labor (just food and beverage) so I'll save money on materials by sweating most copper joints. Being able to push one of these onto a convenient local area spot lets me turn the rest of the house back on and take my time on the area I'm working in. I keep a 1/2 inch and a 3/4 inch unit in my fittings box. Saved me a ton of hassles several times.

Reliable and easy to install
I've been using SharkBite products for years - they are super-easy to install, work with copper and PEX, and (in my experience) are leak-free. I used this one when reworking the main feed to my house, which had a split to an outside faucet. I replaced the old, corroded washer-type shutoff with this ball valve. I never cease to be amazed at how easy these are to work with.

Sharkbite FTW!
If you have never used SHARKBITE plumbing accessories and tools, then you have worked too hard on your repairs and installations. These are the top of the line folks. Once you get what you need and the right size, they are so EASY to put on that ANYONE can do it. Cut water line, debur the end, slide on the SHARKBITE connector, give it a quick pull in the opposite direction, and your DONE. I put two of these on underneath a garden tub in less than 15 minutes for both. No leaks,no assembly tools, just a cutter and debur tool ,both of which SHARKBITE sells. Guys it doesn't get any easier than this.

I've tried sweating joints and have found that I'm not too good at it
What can I say? I have never had a problem with sharkbite fittings. I replumbed my entire house, and used these to replace the CPVC low quality valves, or brass sweated gate valves in the process. I put in numerous valves in addition to the scheme installed by the original plumbers. Water or moisture around the joint? No problem with these. I'm a DIY'er and think these are well worth the money. I've tried sweating joints and have found that I'm not too good at it. These are the solution, particularly when making tie-ins and when connecting unlike-materials.
