does what it needed to do
I didn't really understand at first how I could be defeated by such a simple machine. after 1 day of use I discovered off is the pins pulled out so not really a circuit breaker kind of deal. If you want 8 hours of off time and 16 hours on; pull out 16pins in a line for that to happen.

Simple, old school timer. Perfect for events that repeat every day.
This timer is "old school" but that's perfect when you want the same timed event(s) to occur every day. Examples are Christmas lighting on and off, interior lamps on or off for security purposes etc. Anything that you want to occur at the same time(s) every day. No need to wade through complicated menus or programming. The dual grounded outlets are nice and both are controlled the same. Simply flick the little levers down or up corresponding to the on / off times you want. The levers are in 30 minute increments.

Best outlet timer I own
OK, I have a few other timers but this one has them all beat!! No digital fancy stuff to program, really no instructions need to be read it's very self explanatory, and there are no removable clips are parts to lose. You just pull the little tabs in or push them down, up for on, down for off, really easy. As a bonus there is a manual "on" switch at the top of the unit so you can turn on whatever you want and bypass the timer without messing up your settings. I totally recommend this product and will get more of this kind if I ever need another outlet timer.

I purchase my first timer August 16, 2014 and ...
I purchase my first timer August 16, 2014 and my second on January 14, 2016. Both are still working and keeping time exactly. I use both of them daily--on for about 12-14 hours and off the rest. During the summer time, I turn it off during the hotter part of the day about 4 hours and back on later, so it switches off and on twice. I am at the point of purchasing 2 more for my new grow lights I purchased. Can't beat these timers.

Just what I needed
great old-fashioned light timer. No fancy bells and whistles. It turns the light on in the evening, off when I am in bed, and then on right before I get up and off after the sun comes up. What more do you need? I considered a more fancy timer, but why spend the money when you just need the lights to go on and off?

Basic is Better!
We bought this to replace a digital one that was only a couple of years old. Have you ever been glad that a product stopped working? The digital one was rather tedious to set. Always had to refer back to the instruction sheet with fine print that Ant Man would have difficulty with. After a couple of years, the display stopped working...... Yay! So we went back to basics and bought this one. Very easy to use and the dual outlet is very convenient. We are using it indoors but it is nice to know that if we needed one outdoors, we could use this one in a pinch.

Worked for two months.
Works great, read the instructions so you know how to use it. By default it comes with all the time slots pressed down. You will need to bring up the lever for times you want the power to the outlet off. Update: after two months of use, one of the two I purchased no longer works as a timer and stays ON at all times. Look for another model or brand. This doesn't seem to be good quality.

They time stuff!
I got two of these to put in my girls' bedroom. One of them times a large nightlight so the girls can have half hour of reading time after I tuck them in, without me having to go back in or them having to be trusted to turn it off on their own. The second one is timing their white noise fan, which is on all night and during nap times. I used to just leave it on all the time, but this will probably preserve the fan's lifespan some, and save me some power bill money! To set them, since I wanted them to be pretty exact on what time they turn on, I waited until the time was on the hour, and then I spun the knob carefully to that hour and had the light click on. That way I knew it was set right. It's a couple (literally, two) minutes off several weeks later, and of course I'll have to reset it if we lose power, but they are cheap enough that I don't have to worry about a rambunctious four year old breaking something pricey.

Using it for reptile lights and works like a charm!
I bought this timer, along with the Century 7 Day Heavy Duty Digital Programmable timer, to automate my bearded dragon's enclosure lights. I have two that need to be on during the day, and one that needs to be on at night. This product is my "night timer." I was concerned that since it's not digital, the ticking might be loud, but I don't hear it AT ALL. It's been reliable thus far and easy to use! Much more reliable than timers specifically made for reptile enclosures.

Easy to Program at a great price!
I literally ordered two of these basic timers yesterday and they arrived by noon today! Last year, I'd ordered digital timers - they are great but one of them broke in a year so decided to get two of these basic timers for the upstairs. Easy to program - turn the dial to the exact time you are programming your timer if it's 8pm, turn the dial to 8 in the grey area. Then just pull all of the levers that surround the dial up. To program, push down the time that you want the lights to go on. I have mine set from 7-10pm, they turn off at 10:15pm. Push the button at the top to the "off" position. You can push it to "on" to bypass your settings - it's that easy. Should have ordered these to begin with!!!!
