If you’re looking at this you don’t need my help!
As always, I start by saying I wasn’t paid for this (or any of my) review, and I bought this with my own hard-earned cash. Now: If you are looking at this than high probability that you are into power carving, and doing so w a dremel tool or a hanging motor. It’s kutzall. If you haven’t tried one yet do so! They’re amazing!!!! I have a few bits of Kutzall, Saburrtooth, and Foredom typhoon and they all accomplish different approaches. The Kutzall extremes are like the St and typhoon... they remove lots of stock quickly and relatively smoothly. That’s why I’ve bought more Kutzall classics than St’s now.... I found I like the gritty carbide better than the spikes. It’s not as aggressive and it leaves a better finish to smooth out. So: now you’re wondering - do I get regular or fine??? That’s tougher. I love the fine... and if you’re working a soft wood (I do mostly basswoods) it’s like butter... but I used some fine on oak and it struggles a bit more. If you’re afraid the fine will load up faster than the reg.... meh. I haven’t really noticed. I do keep a natural rubber stick (to clean my sanding drums as well) around and it takes off most of the funk pretty quick. I’ve yet to need to burn out any of my K reg or fine’s.... but that’s me. I prefer fines for most things now a days.... tho if I had the cash I’d have sets of all three. But if you only need the occasional power stock removal and do mostly rough detail power carving (I do the fine detail w chisels/knives) I suggest instead 60grit diamond bits. You can find them on Amazon (I found 1 or 2 sellers) and they work fantastically! Hope that helps for those that are like me and actually depend on honest reviews rather than the fake trash we’ve ALL fallen for from time to time. Cheers -R

Essential for fast carving work in hard, hard woods
I have not tried to use this yet, but all other such burrs I have bought have done great jobs. This is the sort of shape I use to made eye sockets before I refine them. These types of heads are essential if you are impatient, but word of caution, they are very dangerous, so take care.

works as advertised
This burr does a very good job. However, the fine dust that it naturally produces is a concern. Ventilation and a "good" dust mask are needed when you use it.

Works great
Does exactly what I wanted. I am using on the entry 2 speed deemed and it has no problem so far. This will leave a very rough surface so expect to do some finish sanding.

Gotta have one
Where have you been all this time? A Carver since 1972. I have similar burrs but not this size and cutting ability .It is great.

Perfect for spoons
It is perfect for making spoons and small bowls, it carves fast and without too much torque needed! It is also very controleble and almost never kicks.

Good fast shaper
Works great. I'm using it to make wooden spoons from hard wood. I have the best control with high RPM.

Great tools!
great tool(s) I bought the 1/4 inch shaft and the 1/8 inch shaft sphere burrs, coarse and fine, both sizes. all 4 great tools. they remove material fast. the larger ones make spoon making fun again, (the bowl part) best used in a chuck, mounted on a stationary motor. drill mounted is ok too, but more control with stationary motor mount. 1/8 size used in a flex drive is great and fun to use also. they are expensive, but you should never buy cheap tools anyway. I have bought kutzall tools in the past. they never disappoint. If you are a craftsman, you will love these burrs. my primary use for them is spoon making and smoking pipe refurbishing. also, shipping was fast, they arrived 2 or 3 days before ETA

Very aggressive wood removal
I have a few variations of this bit. They are superb. One of them is nearing 5 years in service, with just as many teeth as it started with. I use them on walnut, red oak, white oak, ash, purpleheart, etc... They are an absolute must-have if you carve wood or soap stone.

Love the fine!
I love to use kutzall fine burs a little more than others right before final details.
