Excellent product! Highly recommend!
I make wooden tongue drums and have to remove material to tune the keys. This burr is aggressive and works exactly as needed. Rapidly removes hardwood and saves time. Excellent product!

Eats wood for breakfast
Using this to rough out wood for sculptures. Cuts through it like butter. Haven't tried it on real hardwoods yet but expect it to perform well. Tool remains cool to the touch.

Quality tool that works!
I use this burr when faced with having to carve spoon bowls in hard, dry wood. I still prefer to use traditional gouges for nearly all of the spoons that I carve but I came across some nice, but extremely hard mango and ironwood that I'd rather not take a chance on with my good gouges. This burr did the job well. It leaves a pretty course surface, similar to maybe 40-grit sandpaper - at least at the slow rpm's of my treadle lathe. Even with those course results the surfaces clean up quickly with small sanding disks. This tool does exactly what I ask of it.

Cuts quickly, doesn't load up.
This burr does a great job removing stock quickly. I did not have much trouble with it loading up with chips, and the few times it did, it was easily cleared with a wire brush. Using this with a flex-shaft makes it a very handy carving tool.

Awesome Bit, Get It! You'll Love It!
Tears wood up and will remove fast. You can get fairly smooth cuts by using less pressure. Hint: try it out on scrap wood and start out with light pressure. The bit can and will run from you, if you aren't prepared for it.

I use a air grinder and it works great.
These Sphere Burr bits are a game changer when it comes to making deep holes in ladles and spoons. I use a air grinder and it works great.

Better than the Saburr Tooth
I am genuinely surprised at the quality of this tool. I used it to grind out the hollow part of a spoon and it worked wonderfully. I did 2 spoons from the same maple board. One board I used the Saburr Tooth sphere coarse and the other I used this Kutzall coarse. I thought based on looks that the Saburr Tooth would do the better job, but actually the Kutzall performed better, both in the speed of material removal and ease of handling. I thought the Kutzall would clog with wood and require cleaning every few minutes, but the opposite was true, it never clogged. The Kutzall actually ground out the wood and it came out in a fine dust, while the Saburr Tooth cut out much larger pieces, but at a slower removal rate. The wood heats up with the Kutzall, but it doesn't burn, at least if you keep the tool moving. I also got the fin Kutzall for clean up and it works well too, just not as profoundly as the coarse Kutzall, which is to be expected. I'm glad I got these tools and wish now that I hadn't got the Saburr Tooth tools. I have a dedusting system and work with the project piece with the Foredom rotary tool right at a point of dedusting suction. I generate a lot of the dust and most of it is captured by the dedusting system, but not all, so be sure to wear a dust mask as well.
