My Toddler learned his ABCs from this laptop
I got this for my 1 y/o toddler a year ago. This is a perfect introduction to ABCs for babies. My son has been playing this ever since he was 12months. Simple buttons. Not much going on. Just simple ABCs, its sound and an animal each letter represents. I can honestly say this is where he learned his ABCs. He got familiarized with all the letters and its sound and knows his ABCs before he even turned 2. Fairly durable. He has thrown it around many times and it is still intact! The sound did go out after a year. But I think he may have spilled juice on it. I opened it up and fixed it by putting a coin on that circuit giving it sound. I noticed the sound would come back on when I'd press on it so I put a quarter on it and fixed it right up! lol I do wish the screen/visuals is a little bit better. I did see a newer version of this laptop recently and the screen is colored... still crappy graphics. About $6 more than this... Overall, Highly recommended. This is a perfect "laptop" for babies. They do not need a smart phones or tablets at this young age. MAYBE a very limited time when needed. It really does give it a negative effect on them. I've seen it with mine. Also, I might add... If you are wondering about this vs the VTech laptop (which I just recently acquired as well for my now 2 year old) to buy to a one year old todd, I'd buy this first. The VTech one is more like an advanced version. more like for 2.5 ot 3 yo. :)

Nice gift for a young child
I purchased this for my youngest nephew this past Christmas. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure his age, I believe he was two at the time of receiving the gift. At first, I think just the sounds it made it were most exciting, but it seems like over the time since he's become more interested in the actual response to the random bottom pushes--in terms of finding order/meaning to the responses. SO, that suggests the toy does have educational potential and it's certainly durable. Also, the price was very reasonable.

Absolutely Recommend!
Okay, with buying hundreds of baby toys now, I usually rate based on overall value. Considering things like price, quality, educational value, how much my daughter will use it, features to keep it interesting, etc... This is an excellent purchase! My daughter is almost 1.5 and very into pointing to things to learn what they are. This toy was so cheap, very educational, great quality overall. There are features she can grow into and features she can enjoy now. I would highly recommend this toy! Probably one of the best purchases I have made in a long time.

Comes with the terrific add-on of getting to hear that baby laugh
My kids basically had the whole collection---leaptop, phone, scout, violet----and each one seems to suit them at different developmental stages. I'd say this was the most advanced and had the longest-lasting appeal for all of our children, and it stood up to serious abuse. Our children have each been enthralled by it, and on occasion our 6 year old (for whom it was originally purchased at her first xmas) picks it up and plays with it with her little brother. She still likes it and has a sentimental attachment to it even though she's moved on to more advanced electronics. Though there is still some debate on what role these types of toys have in very early language development, I observed it helping all of my children learn the basics. Beyond that, it made them happy and made them laugh. Play has taken on such serious undertones in this day and age of over-analysis, but having fun with a toy is the point, and as parents getting to hear your babies laugh, it's priceless. Side note, when you are doing the alphabet and come to V for Vulture, the associated sound made, and continues to make, the entire family laugh.

My son loves it.
I got this for our 17 month old who has been overly fascinated with my wife and my laptops. I thought having an interactive screen would give him his own "laptop" geared towards his level would be a good thing. It has been great. He sat down with it for a good 30 minutes when it first got handed to him. He picked up the general idea of how to use it and make it do things for him pretty quick. Its a great toy, its got great learning potential and Im very happy with the purchase.

Perfect Laptop for little kids- better than the new model
I bought my son one of these when he was pretty little. He is four now and still plays with it sometimes. It has gotten a lot of use over the years. This year I bought my one year old daughter a new one for her birthday so she would have her own this year and was dismayed to find that it no longer plugged into the computer or said the child's name. I returned it to the store and bought a used older model one offline for her instead. I also ordered used ones of this model for my nephews who also just turned one. The Leaptop has lots of buttons to press and no little parts to choke on. It teaches kids about the alphabet, animals, and computers. It is personalized to say the child's name, and has custom emails, songs, and more. To change the customization, you plug it into the computer with a mini USB cable. Make sure when buying one that the cable is included, or you will have to purchase the cable separately.

So happy we purchased this.
Our two year old son loves this "computer." It has really helped his speech immensely. Since this arrived he can identify several letters and their sounds. It's perfect for independent play time or when Mommy and Daddy are working on their computers as well (we work from home).

I can't tell you how happy I am I decided to purchase this
I can't tell you how happy I am I decided to purchase this. This item was sitting in my Amazon list for months before I decided to go for it. My daughter is almost two but she's constantly busy and moving. If she's awake, she's on the go. She also loves music and pushing every button she can get a hand on so I wanted something that she could interact with but also learn from a little. This laptop is the perfect solution. She doesn't get access to it all the time, but when she does she loves it. It has a bunch of great songs she can listen to, the alphabet setting is very kid friendly and easy to hear, and it's very simple for her to use and operate. Already she is repeating some of the letters of the alphabet after she hits the button for it. It's great in the car because it keeps her occupied for a good amount of time but not bulky or too large.

Great tool to learn letters for very young toddlers
This is an inexpensive learning tool for toddlers but my grandson LOVES it! He has been playing with it daily for a few months now. It has several settings like send an email or letters. His favorite is the letter settings. It says the letter, sound and an animal associated with the letter. The screen is a very basics black and grey but it works for him! It holds his interest. He also loves books and Wheel of fortune. He just turned two but he is now obsessed with letters. Everywhere we go and everywhere he sees he is constantly calling out letters he knows, R T M O A E W I D B P ... he knows more but those are the ones he says. His doctor said that a two year old knowing his letters is unheard of. But I know this computer was a great tool for him’

We both love this toy
Bought this for my 2.5 year old son. He was so excited! He just loves it! He carries it around and tells everyone that it's "my laptop". He quickly started mimicking the letters and their sounds. He loves to dance to the music. And yes you can personalize it! He loves that when It's on the alphabet mode that his name appears on the screen. He pushes the K and it says "that's the first letter of your name, let's spell it" and it proceeds to spell hims name!! We both love this toy! Very pleased with it, but I just love LeapFrog products in general. Would recommend this to anyone!
