Excellent cutter. I still have the old grey one they made when these first came out but I have trouble finding replacement blades for it so I bought this one. The measuring guides are a great help to see whether paper is in straight. Their is also a wire guide that goes end to end along side the blade so that you can see at quick glance where your paper will be cut. The blade arm has a lock to prevent it from flopping open while moving it. The measuring arm has two lock stops that are firm enough to keep it from moving about as well. The rubber feet on the bottom keep the cutter safely in place. I'm an artist and use very heavy weight watercolor paper, and can successfully cut 2 sheets of 140# cold press 100% cotton paper at a time which is awesome. I haven't yet tried my 300# paper yet but would assume it will cut one sheet easily. If you're a Crafter using scrapbook papers you'll have absolutely no problem. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

I've been using a heavy guillotine cutter for my life, this is a real pleasure to own and relief for my arthritic fingers. Cuts easy, even slivers which my guillotine cutter wouldn't do. Blades are easy to replace, and last s long time. The only drawback is it wont cut multiple layers of cardstock or single layers of craft foam, but it's not meant for that anyway. I just break out my old one when I need to do that. I can't say enough about how easy this is to use, and how visible the cutting area is. Sold on this and very happy.

I bought this trimmer after reading many reviews and going back and forth trying to decide which one to go with. I have had it for almost a week and have used it over 20 times already and I LOVE IT!! I'm a craft-aholic and I'm constantly making something for friends family or just around the house DIY projects. This trimmer has made life so much easier for me because it is simple and precise. Before I was using an exacto knife and while it gets the job done it's not always accurate and even. With this trimmer I don't have those problems and my cut is always perfect! So far I've used it on vinyl, scrapbook paper, photo paper, construction paper and thick card stock with no problems. I also ordered the replacement blades for it and will see how long before I need to replace the current one and update later.

Much better than it looks. Plastic, yes, but well made and accurate

I was actually searching for a guillotine type of paper cutter because that's what I was familiar with from my youth. However I saw several listings for this type of cutter. This one seemed to be getting the best reviews and had slight better capacity than most of the others, although it cost a bit more. I only need to cut paper and sometimes light card stock so it fit my requirements. It works better than any guillotine type trimmer I've ever used and is much safer to boot. I respect Fiskars in general and own several of their products from splitting mauls, to loppers to several of their scissors and most are top notch, as is this cutter. Lightweight, easy to store, easy to use and accurate. I'm happy with this tool.

I would recommend this paper cutter to anyone searching for one. It cuts extremely well, very precise, through lots and lots of cardstock. I own a more heavy=duty Friskars cutter, but enjoy how easy this one is to handle. I can go from cutting cardstock to designer paper and it does not miss a lick. Measurements are easy to read, and it has a little lock at the top to keep the paper bale from flopping around for safety reasons. Get one, you'll like it!

Cuts everything I need like a dream.

From paper to cardstock to lamination 10 mil thick, this paper trimmer cuts everything I need! The size is just right fitting everything up to 12x12" which is perfect for scrapbooking and my use making planner dividers, inserts, and more. The rulers on here are fantastic and very easy to read. You even have some preset sizes on the ruler and grid on the cutter itself that provides you with a great guideline to where to cut and which direction to go. It was a bit of a trick to realize that you were cutting the width and length the way you needed to cut them first but once I got the hang of which way to cut first it was nothing but easy. I have cut up to 5 sheets of regular computer paper, up to 4 pieces of 24lbs paper, and 2 cardstock at once. I have only attempted to do one 3mil, 5mil, and 10mil lamination sheets at once due to accuracy. What I absolutely love the most about this paper trimmer is that in side of the cutter itself there is a very thin wire that lines up exactly where you're going to trim. This wire is centered exactly where the blade will run and no more guessing just about how far along the blade will be from the edge of the line underneath like other trimmers. The wire guides you exactly where you'll be cutting to give perfectly straight and precise cutting each and every time. **tip** Try cutting some tinfoil to sharpen the blade up some! Works like a charm. Although, the blade comes very sharp and will not need sharping for some time after a good amount of use.

Works great. Could live without the dark leaf design.

It cuts clean and sharp and even. You just line up with the lines on the board and you get a nice even, clean cut. Works best with heavy paper like index card type because regular paper gets stuck. But you can lift up the plastic a bit to ease things in and out. The cutting is actually done by a wire and the orange runner pushes the paper down onto it. I don't care for the dark leaf design. But other than that, I highly recommend it, especially for smaller paper project that are very difficult to cut free hand. This made my work go so much faster and more pleasant. The extending ruler is very helpful also.

Great customer service!

I had many trimmers before I purchased this one. None of them could cut a straight line! This trimmer can cut straight and is great for trimming small slivers off cardstock, photo paper and other papers. After 7 years of use, the wire began to fray making the trimmer un-usable. I wrote to Fiskars (they have a lifetime guarantee) and in 9 days they sent me a replacement part and voila, my trimmer works as good as new. You won't be disappointed with this trimmer and should you run into trouble clearly they stand behind their products. I never write reviews but was so impressed with their customer service I felt I should.

Great Update of a Classic

I accidentally ordered the refill blades for this model instead of the blade for my 15 year old model. I decided it was probably time to replace my cutter and I don’t regret that decision. This has so many features that make cutting much easier. I love that it is clear and has a guide wire. One important thing to note is the surface looked super bubbly so I was worried it was going to be a dud. Turns out there is a plastic film all over the surface that protects it when shipping. Make sure to remove that before you cut.

Great for card stock cutting!

I love this cutter! I had another brand that was losing it`s edge and I couldn`t find replacement blades for it so I ordered this one. It has all the features I am used to plus it has the guidewire that shows you the exact line of cutting. I love this! I make my own cards and do monthly awards for a club I belong to so my cutter gets a lot of use. I also ordered a set of blades to keep on hand for this cutter. Overall, a very good purchase!
